Dr. Mark E. Neahring, MD

Dr. Neahring really took time to get to know me and what was going on in my life. I liked that he was open to my ideas about what might help me feel better, and he was thorough about explaining how medications might help me.

I was really feeling off, worse than I ever remember. Dr. Neahring listened to my problems and how I was feeling, and together we developed a plan to adjust my medications. I am feeling so much better now, I never want to feel that way again before I met Dr. Neahring. I'm blessed that he was able to help me feel so much better.

He was very upfront with me about the source of my problems and how it would be best treated. I appreciate that he was honest with me about a difficult diagnosis.

He listened without a lot of interruptions. I liked that he wasn’t rigid in boxing me into a specific diagnosis.

Dr. Neahring always seems genuinely interested in what I have to say during our appointments.

Dr Neahring took time to listen to everything that had been happening to me, and didn’t question the reality of my problems like other doctors had. With medication and therapy my life has tremendously improved.

Dr. Neahring is a straight-shooter. There was no denying I had a problem abusing my medications. Without judgement, he helped me realize what a problem it was for me, and helped get me back on track. With therapy and some medication changes, he helped me feel better so that I didn't have to abuse medications to escape my problems.

He helped me when I needed it most.

I have seen a few psychiatrists over the years and Dr. Neahring is the first one that I have recommended to other people. If you are looking for someone to coddle your emotions and cry with you, he is not your man. Still, he is friendly, focused, empathetic, and has a genuine interest in getting you back to a comfortable, personally satisfying state of mind. He has a very objective view on things without passing judgment. He listens intently and asks thoughtful questions. When I have come to him with an idea of what I would like to try as treatment, he would talk to me about the pros and cons of that option vs other things, and then we would make a decision together. He is a 2-way street and is open to suggestions based on thoughtful feedback of what he has already prescribed.

Dr. Neahring has always spent an adequate amount of time on me. I feel lucky to have found a provider who treats me like a person, not just a patient.

I first worked with Dr. Neahring after a move and job change. He was empathetic, and asked questions to fully understand my situation. Dr. Neahring consistently uses the most updated, data-driven practices to make his recommendations. He maintained a caring demeanor throughout, and I really felt like he was paying attention and carefully considering my situation. Dr. Neahring presented my options in a way I could easily understand, and kept the lines of communication open when I needed a medication adjustment. I couldn’t ask for more in a psychiatrist!

I was hospitalized at CDH and had Dr. Neahring. He met with me every day, including weekends that surprised me. He involved me in the decision making process for my treatment. I felt like I was a part of his team. Highly recommend.

I had Dr. Neahring during my inpatient stay at CDH and could not be more pleased with my care. He checked in on me every morning, even on a Saturday. During the check in, he would always give me the chance to talk, and would really listen, then involve me in the next steps of my care. Knowledgeable and kind. He always made sure to ask what else he could do to help with my healing process. I would absolutely recommend.

I had the lovely experience of having this sadistic dr with a God complex while inpatient at CDH. He usually saw his 5-6 patients during our 10 am group all within about 40 min. He was making medical decisions, BAD medical decisions for me ie ordering blood draws that required fasting given to me 30 min AFTER breakfast, deciding i should start insulin after i said i would like to discuss my other options first with a MEDICAL Dr., upping my mitral valve prolapse med for hi BP instead of my actual med i take for hi BP, etc etc. i could go on...but when i had the audacity to question him and call him out on it he threw a hissy fit and refused to see me and went on to actually ban me from the facility across the street for aftercare. Is this guy seriously in the mental health field and denying people care that they desperately need???? My psychiatrist of 14 years was astounded and basically speechless. I guess thats why he is a staff dr. The patients have no say or choice or say in who their dr is and are stuck with him.
