Dr. Mark Malone, MD

Chen was easily to accuse me of being an abuser and high risk. I have been with this facility for over 7 years. The whole time I had taken anxiety meds as needed which was approved by these drs. Not once did I ask for more pain meds or ever ran out. In fact always had pills left on my visits. Had gone to ER for Covid and was in severe pain and high fever. ER prescribed Tramadol I took one out of 12. I trusted ER dr. He knew I saw a pain dr. Advanced pain care preceded to bring up a DWI from 6 yrs ago and now saying since I take anxiety medicine as needed that I’m a high risk. They have treated me for my upper and lower back messed up, uteral endometriosis, migraines, for past 7 years. And abruptly stopping all medications and wanting to prescribe Suboxone which is addictive and does nothing for pain. With my history of asthma ect it could be deadly. have never felt so hopeless and misjudged. I am very disappointed in the whole staff. Mark Malone advertisement is all about him and his staff acknowledged pain anxiety depression. That’s a definite lie. They are not personable and they truly don’t care how we are once we step out of there office. Just very hurt and in disbelief this has happened to me. I pray I find another dr. That will overlook advanced pain care incompetence of being drs. And treat patients with respect and help they need. They put notes in my records that are false. Not sure how they continue there practice. Very disappointed

The staff is great! I've noticed over the years that things have changed. The providers are pressured to order spinal procedures and SCS trials even if not needed. Please be aware of what you are getting to, they will promise you the world and is something that is not necessary. Please check into what you are doing because its all about the money to him and his closest staff.

As someone who used to work with his practice, I cannot stress enough to please look elsewhere for care. While many of APC employees are wonderful, smart, and caring, the leadership cares more about profits than patients. I've witnessed highly unethical behavior take place there, including doctors not informing patients when critical mistakes were made. Furthermore, their business manager, Wendy has been known to influence some of the medical decision making, a result of her suspiciously close relationship to the practice owner, Dr. Malone. Dr. Malone appears to be a nice man, but please don't be fooled; when he sees patients, dollar signs matter most. Wendy and Dr. Malone run the practice as a way to squeeze as much money as possible out of people in pain, and their business is a representation of what is wrong with the American healthcare system.

Go anywhere else. Dr Malone only wants to sell sell sell. He’s going to have you go through everything he can get approved. Your a policy holder not a patient

I've been a patient for approximately 10 years and I have seen Dr.Malone once in that time. After seeing his ads on news shows and PBS, I'm not sure he takes a hands on approach to his patients. The turnover rate in the Cedar Park office is very disconcerting. You never know who will be treating you when you go in for your monthly appointment. I do appreciate the care I have received for procedures the Doctors and assistants give As for mark malone, I don't know him.

I truly like Dr. Malone. He is very soft-spoeken and gentle. I don't see him every month, it's normally a PA, and I'm fine with that when everything is status quo. I've never had a problem having access to him when I want to discuss new symptoms or medications with him.. I've been a patient for 8 years here. For the most part the staff is very very nice. There's always one or two here and there that need a little help in that department. I am not a big fan of one of the doctors who refused to help me on a late Friday afternoon and refused to allow me access to Dr. Malone. I've got a question for current patients. I went to my appointment today and after the PA finished discussing how this year has been difficult for me regarding pain, my pain meds were then reduced claiming that the DEA rules changed. Is this happening to any other patients out there? So I asked to book with Dr Malone to discuss this and I was refused. She said it was her understanding that he is only seeing new patients now. She gave me the option to see the Dr who has not treated me very well in the past. I simply cannot believe that wouldn't be able to see Dr Malone - he's been there for me for 8 years anytime I need him. I'm wondering if I am being argeted by this new Dr for the initial disastrous encounter I had with him. I'm going to book an appointment with one of the other doctors that I know well but I'm very curious to find out if others are having their pain meds reduced and how I can validate that what I was told regarding the DEA ruless is accurate. I have had a few different pain problems for many years, severe and painful scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, narrowing spinal canal, bulging lumbar discs, and cervical discs causing migraines, and I have been to many different doctors, was under neurosurgeons care for years, had scan and xray done by every new doctor I have ever seen (that is procedure of any doctor) and last few years, I have been to 2 other pain management doctors and I have not been impressed previously...but when I came here last year, they of did scans and I had a thorough appointment with Dr. Malone and his assistant lasting well over an hour and discussing previous helpful procedures and not so helpful ones done in the past...After that I knew for the most part that surgery wasn't going to fix all of the multi problems unless they re-built spine and back completely. Anyway, I began seeing them monthly with pain meds prescribed and each visit went over new or different i had and they suggested some possible procedures that may help with some of my issues(those I had tried to no avail) but they are thorough, caring , on top of my problems, and after being treated terrible (not by my specialists) but the other pain mangmt I was at. They have never made me wait more than 12-15 minutes unreal for busy office but they have full staff and are well organized. I am thankful b/c I am bed ridden a lot and I have to balance moving and resting w/meds and heating pad or either one causes worse pain. As for the gentleman that complained about insurance canceling contract, that happens all of the time, and not the doctors fault and if a tx id was changed for legal reasons like it must have been they can refuse to change it back, thank you

I was referred to this company by my primary care doctor a year ago. I went to them with the understanding that they would assist me in a solution in regards to my spine problem. I have been in the heavy equipment repair business for 24 years. So as you could imagine my spine has multiple problems. So they put me on nerve and pain medicine. Now this was not a easy task, I felt if they put me on pills they would take for ever to do the correct work to help me. So as my feelings was correct six months into seeing them I told them I want something done other than pills for the rest of my life. So they told me we could try a procedure that may or may not work, well I went for it. Two days before the procedure they said my insurance (BCBS) ended the contract with them so the cash price was like $2000.00. I did not have that kind of money at the time so I chose to change insurance company's and go with UNHC. They covered the procedure, needless to say it was unsuccessful. Now here we are eight months later and yes still on the medications. I am so frustrated by this point I tell them to give me a referral for a neurosurgeon. They finally after a month refer me, I go and he runs his own new set of MRI's and X-ray's and say here is where I think our problem is. Totally different place than where they had looked so he is sending me for some additional scans. He says it just don't make since they would run all these other scans and not this one. My monthly appointment came around a week later with advanced pain again and I told them the status with the neurosurgeon and all I got was good I am glad he is helping. I thought wow really really y'all could have done this eight months ago. So I am scheduled to go in this month and I couldn't remember the date and time so I call. When I get on the phone with them the first thing out of her mouth after getting my info to look me up is well sir I am sorry UNHC ended the contract with us. I said what in the world is the deal here this has already happened once to me, she said yeah this has effected about half of our patients. So I said how much is it if I pay cash for this one until I can figure this out, she said $300.00 for the visit. I said no I am going to figure it out right now. So after two hours on the phone and multiple people I got the answer. They (advanced pain) changed there tax ID number and status in 2015 and UHC just now caught it and they contacted advance pain last week to correct the problem and advance pain is refusing to correct it and pay the money they owe, so in the meantime all of us out with out care. I am so furious with company right now. If I go to another place this whole game restarts again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really would like to hire a lawyer to get a investigation going into the corruption of this company. Again any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I drive over 2.5 hrs. Because I trust Advanced pain care!!!! They have always spent time listening too my needs......

PLACE TURNED ME INTO A OPIATE ADDICT THEN WHEN I NEEDED MY MEDS THEY CUT ME OFF AND BASICALLY KICKED ME OUT, I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

The staff both medical and ancillary are very friendly and caring. The only reason for the 2 stars is that I haven't actually had anybody from his office call to see how I was doing, but I didn't expect it either.

Avoid this place it is a pill mill. They bill my insurance insane amounts. They do not care the people they see. Seriously awful practice. No diagnostics or follow up on anything.

This place is a horrible. I went in a few years ago and was told that I needed to have a series of very expensive nerve procedures done. I had two done however, since they require me to be on bed rest immediately following, I did not make the third appt. When I went back he was very rude, raised his voice at me, then laughed at me when I told him I could not make the appt due to work conflicts. Did not ever get any relief.Office staff was terrible as well. Treat you as though you are wasting their time, they are too busy to deal with you, and look at you like you are trash. Very unprofessional and rude. Would NEVER recommend this place!! Don't take chances with your heath...go somewhere else!

I've been going to Advanced Pain Care for at least 4 years now and they are truly an excellent treatment facility! To say the run a Pill Mill is absolutely ridiculous! This is a large Company with many Drs., employees, Locations for treatment and a lot of Patients. I always try to see a P.A. James or another P.A. Judith because you build a relationship and trust over time and they're as good as it gets. To complain that not seeing Dr. Malone monthly is nuts. I own my own business and it's nowhere near the size of Dr. Malone's business. I'm surprised Dr. Malone could see anybody with a practice as large as his. Advanced Pain Care always Drug Test's to ensure the meds are being taken correctly and more importantly, they offer a huge variety of procedures that are truly life saving for people like me. I am so grateful for all who work so hard at Advanced Pain Care just to make my life pain free. I'm not pain free but I know that if I can ever get that way, it will be because of Advanced Pain Care and all the wonderful People that care so much for me!

I have never been so disappointed in my life. I didn't even get to see Dr. Malone, and that is who I was scheduled to see. This is how it works. After you wait forever to see Dr. Malone, you see one of his associates. The one I saw didn't even bother to thoroughly look at my chart. He had no idea what medications I take. All he wanted to do was prescribe pain pills and suggest I have surgery. I told him that I was healing and I wanted physical therapy to help the healing process. He kept on trying to prescribe pain medication. I told him that I did NOT want pain medication. I wanted physical therapy. Finally, he agreed. It is very obvious that these folks keep wanting you to come back, so that they can make money off of you. They do not seem the least bit concerned about their patients. Also, you will not even see a doctor again. This only happens on your first visit. I come from a family of doctors. I told them what happened. They told me this is not the way a doctor who truly cares about patients practices medicine. Right now, I am very hesitant to go to the people they referred me to for physical therapy. Since they are associated with Dr. Malone, I don't trust them.

Dr. Malone was one of the worst doctors I've ever had. Malone runs a patient mill and makes decisions collectively, i.e. he suddenly decides all his patients need to do X or Y. He is arrogant and surrounds himself with layers of staff whose primary purpose is to limit access to him as much as possible. His staff is rude and refused to fill out paperwork for worker's comp, and I always had to wait at least 30 mins after the scheduled time. Malone does not know his patients individually, and gets angry if you ask him questions or challenge his views in any way. He made numerous mistakes writing scripts, which led to the pharmacy refusing to fill them; when I told the staff this, and after that tried to get mistakes corrected immediately, his staff decided I was a "difficult patient" -- and actually told me Malone would likely get angry if I "bothered" him with these issues! In the year I was with him, I saw him about 3 times -- all other visits were with a PA. After about a year, I was told "Dr. Malone wants all his patients off pain meds" (!!!) and put on a fast taper schedule. This was relayed through various assistants, and when I tried to talk to him directly about my concerns, Malone got very angry and accused me of being an "addict" (even though I had been on a stable dose for years), and retaliated by cutting my dose even more. I followed through but this led to a massive flare-up after a few weeks, and Malone's response was to cut off my meds and write a small Suboxone script. At this point I went back to my old doctor despite the long distance.

I like the people and doctors here. They are very caring.

I have been an APC patient for 3+ years and have received professional and compassionate treatment from Dr Malone and most of the PA's since my first appointment with Dr. Malone. The care I have received has allowed me to live an almost normal life with my chronic and painful disease. I respect and appreciate the attention to details Dr Malone's staff gives me at each monthly appointment.

I notice Dr Malone either gets 4 stars or 1 star. I wonder which reviews are from his patients and which ones are from his staff?????

They provided a lot of great information. Not overweight with the info. Pleasantly surprised by the Doctor's knowledge. No extended wait for app or after being checked-in @ the front office.
