I had severe eye issues after lasik.

Catarac surgery seemed to go well, but in the followup exams he seemed preoccupied, always in a hurry, leaving me to wonder if he paid close enough attention. Even with a few brief carefully prepared questions, his answers were short, I wonder how much thought goes into his answers....just don't think he cares. I'm about done with him...

He takes care of business....no chit chat I have been a patient of his for 15 years and have yet to see him smile.

Lasik 5+ years ago. Still better than 20/20. Love this doc!! He's done my whole family and now is our regular eye doctor. Everyone there is fantastic.

I took my daughter who has a medical condition. Like all teenagers, she wanted to have contacts. They were more interested in getting the money out of contacts instead of explaining to me the pros and cons. The doctor spent very less time with us and answering our questions. It was more like we doing a service for him.The service to fit contacts in was excellent. The staff were good. We decided to get it from outside. I took the prescription to Costco and the lady was knowledgeable enough to find that the prescription was not correct. We called and via phone got the right values. Unfortunately they did not have it in stock and we went to the place where we get glasses. When we called from there, her prescription changed again!! There was another error. It took forever and several phone calls - no one admitted anything wrong but just said this is fixed.As a patient, we never know if what we have is right. We are switching doctors asap.

It is my opinion that this doctor just wants the extra money he gets by pushing a multi-focal lens on a catarac patient. He makes you feel like he's in a hurry for you to make a decision on what type of lens you want without taking the time to help you make an informed decision. Whatever you say you want, he does, even if he knows it's not the right choice for you. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone who needs catarac surgery.

Dr. Volpicelli suggested either glasses, contact lenses or surgery to correct my vision. However, he was not interested in helping guide my decision. He had no interest in spending time with me, to help me through the process. He basically told me it was up to me, as far as what I wanted to do, and promptly referred me to his nurse, and left. He has no bedside manner, or interest in interacting with his patients. I felt like a number.
