Dr. Matthew Mcbride Buchanan, MD

Short wait in the office and his staff assessed my ankle break with care. Got an X-ray immediately and Dr Buchanan took time to explain the different parts of the break. Reviewed all exercises with me and follow up. Young woman at check in efficient and kind.

On time through visit. Not rushed.

He is the best orthopedist doctor for foot and ankle. Knowledgeable, caring, and he takes the time to explain the patient what to do, what will be the next steps to follow . We all expect a human touch from the doctor. He fulfills that expectation.

I was able to get a same day emergency appointment with Dr. Buchanan for a debilitating issue with my foot that happens only intermittently. Fortunately, he was able to see me during one of my debilitating episodes. He was able to diagnose my issue and offer solutions previous doctors couldn’t because I could never get in when it was happening. Dr. Buchanan is very pleasant and has an approachable bedside manner. I am very happy to say I will finally be able to have my foot issue fixed thanks to Dr. Buchanan.

Office staff attitude caused much lower rating. The male manager needs a job where he doesn’t talk to patients. Really insufferable person. Trying to get help from the front desk staff is like pulling teeth. They have a very high turnover rate which causes even more confusion and disorganization. Dr. Buchanan runs an hour to an hour and a half late for every appointment due to emergency surgeries in the morning. He made sure to tell me the patient he worked on in the morning was a star high school football player so obviously more important than me. If emergency surgeries were put on his schedule every day then he wouldn’t run late every day to every appointment. Dr. Buchanan is a good doctor but my surgery was not successful and to this day I am still in pain. I do not recommend this practice.

Excellent care and thorough, detailed approach handling patient’s needs and individual circumstances. Would highly recommend Dr. Buchanan and his staff for anyone in need of foot and ancle issues.

Dr Buchanan is an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him. He takes the time to listen carefully to your symptoms and does not make you feel like he is “rushing” through the exam. I like the fact that he prefers to try “non-surgical” solutions first (e.g. physical therapy, injections, etc.) and only recommends surgery as a last resort.

Outstanding physician. Gives his full attention to all concerns and questions. Complete, understandable review of patient condition, treatment options, planned surgery. Pre and post-op instructions very clear. One of the finest doctors it has been my privilege to know. Recommend with no reservations.

Thoughtful and caring

Met with Dr. Buchanan to resolve an ongoing foot problem others have been unable to make progress with. Dr. Buchanan was terrific. Great bedside manner, efficient, and he understood my issue. I’m so glad I went to see him. Very helpful!

I went to see him about a torned tendon in my ankle and unlike doctors before him he wanted to try every non surgical procedure first. Ended up having to have surgery and he did a great job. He explained everything clearly, took his time to and answer my questions, and made sure I understood everything through the process. The front desk and surgery coordinator are also great!!

My experience with Dr. Buchanan was really good. I was expecting great patient care since I had heard all good things from other patients. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions & gave proper diagnosis. I will keep visiting Dr. Buchanan if & when I have other issues. Very pleasant experience.

I love this guy. I thought orthopedic surgeons weren't good listeners. But, he really listens. He's respectful and responsive. My brother, who is a physician - recommended him, very highly. And I have been very happy. Many thanks.

I’ve been going through a lot health wise for over 6 months now. It hasn’t been easy. So, I finally was able to have a follow-up visit with Dr. Buchanan and he took the time to listen thoroughly to all my health concerns and took action to assist me with getting referral to get an MRI scan for my ankle. I’m truly grateful and look forward to healing soon.

I absolutely love Dr. Buchanan. He performed a fusion on me about 7 years ago. He then moved and I saw another Dr. and had an ankle replacement. I've been having issues with it and went to see Dr. Buchanan about it. He is so knowledgeable and thorough. He's very methodical about the decisions he makes for the path forward for his patients. I never feel rushed and he happily answers all my questions. I am so thankful that he is back and will be performing my revision. I trust him wholeheartedly in his ability to perform the surgery and guide me through the process. He is the best of the best in his field of study. When I selected him, my husband and I did our homework and researched a lot. I was confident when we selected him and I was even more confident after I met him.
