Dr. Maureen Whelihan, MD

Dr Whelihan is wonderful. She understands exactly how I feel. She totally gets it! The office staff are wonderful, the patient portal is easy to use, and the Dr always responds to my messages. I'm very glad I was referred to her.

Dr. Whelihan and her student had awesome bedside manner answered all my questions, and took her time. I feel so much better and relieved under her care and she has earned a patient for life. I have already recommended her and her helpful staff to all my friends. The unknown can be very scary so it's important to have a doctor you feel comfortable with and that is completely competent especially in todays world.

This was my 1st Visit to the Office. Dr Whelihan was So Wonderful!!! She Spent So Much Time with me Explaining Everything in Detail!!!! She Answered All my Questions and Concerns and I Felt Quite Confident With Her!!! Going back today for a Test She Scheduled!!! Thank You Dr. Whelihan!!

I suffered with debilitating Hot Flashes. I could not go out or doing anything. My hot flashes would come over me so severe that I would have to hold on to something or I would drop to my knees. I went to every doctor to find a solution and nothing! I went to Dr. Whelihan because my sister had had a great experience with her. I live far from her office, but was desperate to find help. She listened to me and prescribed a topical medicine that stopped the hot flashes. 3 days after my visit with her, my flashes stopped. I can now live my life. I can’t thank her enough.

Dr Whelihan is very caring and friendly physician. Makes your gyn visit comfortable and at ease. Highly recommended.

She makes such an uncomfortable appointment something super comfortable. She’s such a joy to talk to and actually look forward to my visits with her.

Dr. Whelihan visits are BRIEF; as were her responses to my concerns. I went in for a wellness check, but, she did not check my breasts. (My Mother had breast cancer) Furthermore, I need a 3D mammogram which was written for a regular mammogram. (3D helps to see through dense breast tissue.) She was so rushed she didn't LISTEN to what I was saying and offered to increase a medication; not related to gynechology. I had withdrew from this medication and did NOT want a refill. I went to my pharmacy and she had prescribed Progesterone for me. NEVER was this medication discussed or explained to me in my office visit. When I questioned her nurse about this medication; the nurse could not find an explanation for this prescription, and recommended I come in for another appointment. I have since found 2 other patients whose gynecological health she has DESTROYED. Please do not go to her; her license needs to be revoked. Nasty, nasty staff except for that one kind nurse. (And I just saw in an email; she is opening up a Hologic Genius 3D Mammography). She is an opportunist; your health DOES NOT MATTER TO HER.

Never felt as rushed in a doctor's appointment as with this doctor. I had an 8:45 appointment but I did not see the doctor until after 10am. During the exam, her staff knocked on the door at least three separate times as she was running late. They screwed up the prescriptions as well, sending the same thing to two different pharmacies. Also, If you are interested in alternative options like thermography or HRT that's not from Big Pharma, she will not be agreeable to those options. Will not be back.

Please choose another doctor if you are a plus size, or a larger bodied woman. Maureen is quite possibly the most unprofessional doctor I’ve had regarding weight loss. When I visited I was already dieting, and had positive results, and had visited the office for an unrelated issue. Maureen came into the room and immediately started grilling me about my diet, she didn’t believe me that I was dieting already. Then she pulled me into another part of the office and proceeded to show me HER OWN PERSONAL WEIGHT LOSS PICTURES. Like revealing pictures of her OWN BODY - in a sports bra and leggings, showing her before and after weight loss. She also told me “never eat a salad larger than a tea plate...” strange advice. She offered to prescribe me diet pills, and barely talked about what I came in to see her about. Maureen is wildly unprofessional in this regard. Needless to say - I refused to go back to her office. When I called to complain - Maureen called me back personally- but not to apologize - instead she defended her actions and tried to make me feel like it was my problem for being offended. Now that I have a new doctor, I feel more comfortable leaving this review of my terrible experience.

I typically NEVER give bad reviews but I have to share my experience. I went to their office a while back because I was having irregular periods. No testing was done and I was thrown on birth control. Not much of a change so I went to a DIFFERENT gynecologist that was APPALLED that I didn’t get any bloodwork done. They sent me to get labs immediately and turns out the problem was way bigger than I imagined. I was diagnosed with a condition that this office hadn’t even tested me on, which I could’ve been treating for way sooner. I’m sure the doctor & nurse are good but as licensed medical professionals the correct protocol should have been taken to help me. It didn’t happen, therefore, I DO NOT recommend this office.

My appointment was at noon and I was told to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. When I arrived, there was a line of 4 people waiting to sign in and some to check out. The waiting room was also full. After waiting 10 minutes on a line that was not moving, I went to the front of the line, found the sign in notebook and signed in and sat down. I waited a total of 45 minutes and was not called up to be given new patient forms to fill out. I left at that point. There were five people ahead of me, the longest was there 2 hours. Here's what made it ridiculously unbearable--the television was on with non-stop infomercials by the doctor. One after the other about vaginal dryness, sexual disfunction, hormone inbalance, incontinence, erectile disfunction, and so on. I don't know how anyone can sit through waiting for hours for an appointment and be forced to listen to that, over and over and over again!!! Are you kidding me!!! I am not a prude, but it was uncomfortable after the first 10 minutes. I would not be able to listen to that for any prolonged period of time. It is inconceivable that a doctor would force that on their patients! Lastly and worth mentioning, when I made the appointment, the person making my appointment failed to mention that there are two very large buildings, and I would need to go to the South building. After wandering around the North building, I tried calling the office and with no answer. Finally, a man saw me trying to find my way and volunteered the fact that all this doctor's patients seem to have this issue at first.

unprofessional and uncaring of patients from the receptionists who calls everyone sweetie and darling to the doctor who doesn't even remember what was discussed the day before. Find someone else

Dr.Maureen is so very nice ,she made me feel so comfortable,and answered all my questions,she made it very easy to talk to her ,It's always uncomfortable to be at the Gynecologist's off but dr maureen makes you feel like family ,she's very careing ,im thankful she's my doctor

I would write a review, but this doctor is extremely combative, so there is no point.

I have been a patient of Dr. Whelihan for many years but did not do my well woman check for a while. I went to get my full gyne work-up, including a Pap smear. Wait time was short, the stff members were pleasant and courteous as always and the doctor was kind, caring and provided excellent info regarding the topics that I asked about.

Knowledgeable, focused, efficient, and has a great sense of humor. If you are looking for the type of doctor that's going to wring her hands and get all maudlin with you, go to somebody else. Ditto if you are more comfortable with the "authoritarian figure" type. In my experience, Dr. Whelihan has great listening skills, is never condescending, and doesn't get offended if you have an opinion of your own. She might be a little too direct for some, and perhaps a little too nonchalant for others, but I think she's terrific (and, Lord knows, I don't like very many doctors).

Dr Whelihan puts me at ease immediately upon entering the exam room, with her easy going manor, and great big, reassuring smile, my annual exam was over before I knew it! I highly recommend Dr Whelihan.

Dr. Maureen Whelihan is the best OB/GYN care doctor I have ever met. She doesn't sugar coat things, just tells it like it is. Easy to talk to and is polite. She has a sense of humor and great bedside manner. I love her staff too. Her office is a great open space appeal. I'm spoiled now, so I don't want see anyone but her from now on.

Dr Whelihan has abysmal bedside manner She told a female patient that had quit smoking 40 years ago but now has ovarian cancer that she can see by the lines in her mouth and by the smell of her breath that she is smoking !! This was her check up after going through 3 courses of chemo & surgery to remove ovaries & tumor ! The patient walked out of the office shaking never ever to return to her again!!! I'm horrified by the way she's treated my mother ... It is important to get the message out about Dr Whelihan's atrocious bedside manner It is horrifying that she would talk to a patient that way She should not be practicing medicine Please choose your doctors carefully

This was my second yearly visit with Dr. Whelihan and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my visit last week. I felt like I was with family because the good doctor and her staff treat you like family. You can tell Dr. Whelihan is on top of her game. â?¦
