Dr. Taban saw me the same day I called in with a terribly painful stye. He was able to diagnose my condition over the phone which was great. They scheduled a same-day surgery to have it removed. The process was (relatively) painless, aside from the initial anesthesia shots into my eyelid. Dr. Taban told me that would be the worst part of the process and he was right. The surgery only took minutes and I have recovered so well. I am immensely grateful, I cannot recommend the Dr. highly enough!

About one year ago I had upper and lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Taban. I loved my results immediately and even more today. I got several eye procedures from Dr Taban. Everything went just as I hoped for, I’m satisfied with the results and the recovery was virtually painless. He has a pretty honest and straightforward way of speaking but I never found him rude or anything, he’s cool. Also the staff were cool and friendly.

Absolutely amazing experience with Dr . Taban . I have done lots of research before committing to procedure, several consultations with other surgeons and it all came in place after meeting Dr. Taban in person . Extensive knowledge, experience, professionalism and dedication. He is honest and open to any concerns a patient has. He was excellent in explaining what needs to be done and why . Dr. Taban was so helpful and understood exactly what I wanted regarding my eyelid surgery. His work was natural and detailed. I highly recommend seeing him for quality work. My insecurities with my eyes date back over 20 years ago when I was just a child who started to notice the unevenness of my eyelids. As I got older, a new problem arose- I started noticing the bags under my eyes. I was constantly being told that I looked tired despite getting adequate sleep. My eyes were a battle I had to fight everyday, with having to glue my upper eyelids and use tons of concealer to try to hide my under eye bags. Being of Asian descent, I knew I had to find a doctor who was an expert with Asian anatomy. After doing tons of research, I decided to bite the bullet and confidently choose Dr Taban as my surgeon for my upper and lower blepharoplasty. Scheduling the consultation and procedure was made easy by the office staff who were so helpful! The procedure itself was quick and easy, and I chose to do local anesthesia only. Dr Taban and his assistant made sure I was nice and comfortable. As for the recovery, I decided to go back to work 4 days post op and I got numerous compliments from people saying how great I looked already despite having stitches and bandages covering my eyes. I couldn’t believe how perfectly the stitches were placed by Dr Taban and how quick I had recovered from the procedure. It took YEARS off my face! I can now confidently look people in the eyes and not worry about whether or not I looked tired. The only regret I have is not doing this sooner. I have already recommended him to my friends with the same issue! Best decision I’ve ever made.

Dr. Taban’s expertise and attention to detail for my lower blepharoplasty is so appreciated. It has been 1 year since my surgery, and I couldn’t be happier with my results! I travelled from San Francisco to get an upper eye lid blepharoplasty with Dr. Taban. And it was worth it. He is a true artist. The procedure was performed under a local anestesia, everything took just about 20 minutes. The staff was very gentle and caring. Dr. also supported me remotely via email answering the questions arised during the first days of recovery. Everything healied just fine exactly how he told me. Today, after 4 month from a surgery date, I visited a dermatologist. She looked straight at my eyelids and didn't recognize that I've done a blepharoplasty! Even asked for the Doctor's name, she was really impressed. Highly recommended.

Flawless, natural results, pain free and quick recovery I am 49 years old, Eastern European background. I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty and a ptosis ( drooping eye) repair. This was my first eye surgery. I would like to share some highlights of my amazing experience with Dr. Taban and his office team. Dr. Taban is so thorough. I had 2 zoom consultations and he did another thorough consult during my pre-op appointment, the day before surgery. He personally went over all the meds and ointments and how to take care of my eyes after the surgery. Something I really appreciated. Dr. Taban and his office is very responsive. Dr. Taban answers all of his own emails and is thorough in answering questions. I feel that Dr. Taban is down-to-earth and approachable. Dr. Taban personally took out my sutures one week after surgery. His hands are weightless- I didn’t feel anything. He also did a filler injection on my left brow and I didn’t feel anything. I came from Atlanta and had a lot of questions. Zaira was very helpful and responsive. Overall, office team is very responsive, helpful and down-to-earth. I felt supported during my procedure despite traveling alone to LA. The office recommends Visiting Angels of LA for nursing care. I worked with them for 3 days, for about 4 hours each day and they picked me up from the office after surgery. Very nice service and so much more affordable than some other places I called. I had a nurse’s aid and that’s really the highest skill they need to have to help with driving, ice packs etc. Surprisingly easy recovery. I didn’t need any pain meds. Just the ice on my eyes ( I used ziplock bags( I purchased 3 packs of the gallon ziplock ) and crushed ice from the hotel where I stayed (Pendry West Hollywood) and applied to my eyes using a dry sterile gauze as a barrier). I slept on my back using a bunch of pillows to support my head and neck. I used the systane lubricant eye drops that are individually packaged and single use. These are a lifesaver since you cannot wet your eyes for a week. I used these a few times a day to keep my eyes clean and the drops were especially helpful in cleaning out the ointment in the morning after placing it in my eyes at night. I also would suggest purchasing large sterile gauze pads that are individually wrapped. They really helped me when I needed to clean my eyes and I used them as a barrier under the bags of ice. When my eyes itched, I used sterile Q-tips that I brought with me to gently tap on the area- that was also really helpful. With the dropping eye repair (ptosis), a very soft lens is placed in the eye for one week. It was not a nuisance at all and I barely noticed it. My vision was decent for the week of recovery. I would not have driven that week despite not having pain or too much swelling. I was able to shower with my back to the water so no water got into my eyes and I spot cleansed my face with the sterile gauze to avoid water reaching my eyes. Overall, I didn’t feel sick or tired during the one week recovery. I walked around the hotel every day and sat outside on the deck. I was not bedridden. Overall, my experience was very positive and my results are flawless. There is no part of my eyes that I don’t LOVE. My eyes look very young, natural, and they are fully functional. I didn’t have a single issue after my surgery with Dr. Taban and I have gotten so many compliments. Dr. Taban is a world-class specialist and it was worth the trip and extra expenses to get my results. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

I had frontalis sling surgery for congenital ptosis. Dr Taban did a fantastic job . My eyes are symmetrical now. The result is more successful than I expected. He is the best.

I consulted with Dr. Taban 5 years ago and then again last year when I was ready to have surgery. I consulted with several other doctors , but ultimately felt that he was the one I would trust for my procedure. I had lower eyelid surgery three years ago with doctor A (a well known doctor in the nation). After the surgery my lower eyelid dropped and my eyes appearances looked terrible! Not only that but even my entire face looked sad abnormal and defective. Also my vision worsened, my eyes became very dry with a lot of irritations... I went to another doctor (doctor B who is well known too) to fix what damages caused by doctor A. Unfortunately I was so disappointed for the second time with the results of the second doctor B! Ha made it even worse. Then I went to several doctors and they told me we can not touch the lower eyelid cuz it’s very difficult procedure and there is NO WAY TO FIX IT!!!!! I got very frustrated and felt very angry. Every day I regret that I did it in the first place!!! I suffered a lot!!! they ruined my face, my eyes and my vision. Then light was there at the end of the tunnel when I heard about doctor Mehryar (Ray) Taban I started researching more and more about him. Finally, I felt there is hope and things can be better and I got very interested in meeting him and hearing from him to check if he can find a solution for my case. Ptosis correction is an inherently difficult procedure that only ASOPRS surgeons can expertly perform. However, subtle ptosis correction is an even more complicated operation and something few surgeons are capable of and willing to undertake. I had, relatively speaking, a modest degree of ptosis for several years. It wasn't enough to impair my vision and mild by most standards but enough to make me look tired and unalert in photos. I went to several ASOPRS surgeons in my area who all suggested surgery was unwarranted and too difficult to perform. However, after researching Dr. Taban's extensive library of photos, I became convinced that if anyone could do it, it would be him. Fortunately, Dr. Taban agreed to help me, and I couldn't be happier with the result. His ptosis correction is subtle and natural, and I feel more awake and rested in photos. In addition to my ptosis correction, I had a cyst removed from a previous fat transfer to my lower eyelid area performed by another surgeon. This is another difficult procedure that very few surgeons perform on a regular basis and have experience with. But Dr. Taban was able to correct that for me as well and stayed in touch with me despite the difficulties surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and having to close down his office. I'm grateful I found Dr. Taban and believe he's one of, if not the most, talented ASOPRS surgeons in the country.
