Dr. Mel Garrovillo, MD

I recently went to Advent Health/Heart of Florida. I was in so much pain, I was lucky enough to get Dr. Garrovillo as my surgeon. He was amazing, the day of the surgery I was walking up and down the halls, with all my bodily functions working. Thank you Dr. Garrovillo for my care. Lorraine Belanger

I would not recommend this Doctor to my worst enemy !!! I went in for a routine surgery and ended up with a stomach perforation that was ignored and discovered 2 days later when I ended up with septic shock and almost died !!! It was supposed to be an overnight stay and I ended up on a ventilator, in ICU fro 5 days and a total Hospital stay of 11 days !!! Stay away if you value your life and health !!!!

He spent time explaining my condition and what type of surgery I would need. Explained the procedure in words that I could understand and encouraged me to ask questions which he answered to my satisfaction. I recovered quickly after the surgery and never felt better.

I would never return to this doctor. He cost me about three years of my life because he was not proficient enough in the type of emergency surgery I needed. His manner was nice--but he left me in pretty sad shape, requiring many surgeries to repair the damages done by his ineptness.
