So impressed with everything connected with this visit. It is obvious from start to finish that Dr Lemma and his staff have a high degree of compassion and respect for their patients. On time and well prepared for my first visit, Dr Lemma had already reviewed MRI's and written reports so he could discuss various options for my treatment. In my case, instead of performing surgery immediately, he suggested alternate treatment plans. Looking out for what was truly best for me. Explained everything in detail.

I interviewed three other surgeons prior to Dr. Lemma before making a decision to move forward with spinal surgery. Speaking with Dr. Lemma I felt comfortable and at ease. I was in the presence of an angel from heaven sent whose purpose is to heal broken backs. He explained my diagnosis and how he would rebuild my body. What I discovered was this type of surgery is routine for Dr. Lemma and his staff, he had more experience than all the doctors I interviewed combined. When I initially came to see Dr. Lemma I was in constant pain. I had pain from my lower back to my feet. The pain was so severe I had begun to lean forward as a woman 15 years my senior. My diagnosis included all the â??sâ?? words; spinal stenosis, degenerative disc with spondylosis plus my spine was curving and I was unable stand up straight. Dr. Lemma repaired my degenerative disc, and fused (fusion) on my spine back together. When I awoke from surgery there was no pain in my lower back or legs and I could stand up straight. I am pain free, I got my life back. Dr. Lemma is a compassionate and caring physician. I would recommend him to my friends and enemies.

Dr. Lemma was the best. He answered all my questions with easy explaination. He has amazing bedside manner and make me feel confident and comfortable with my treatment plan. I would recommend him to everyone! The staff is so happy and nice as soon as you walk in.

Dr Lemma made everything very understandable to me and gave me choices about my condition.

Dr. Lemma is a very caring person, and he took time to explain everything to me very patiently. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon. His staff is also excellent and very efficient.

Dr. Lemma was unbelievable. Most surgeons spend little time with bedside manner w/ patients and leave it to their assistant. Not him, he took his time with me, displayed sincere concerns about my concerns and addressed them properly. He did an excellent job on my fusion and I know my recovery would not have been as successful as it were if he didn't do the procedure. Honestly... you can't go wrong with this doctor.

My internist had cautioned me against back surgery - as did my family. But I knew in my heart of hearts how much pain I was in, and had been in for too many years. I took a leap of faith, after reading Dr. Lemma's stellar background, and made an appointment. When Dr. Lemma came in to the examining room, the first thing he said was "This is not all in your head". I began to weep. Dr. Lemma was the only physician who clearly saw my spine problems and even commented that he was surprised no one had ever recommended surgery. I had been for injections, physical therapy, acupuncture. Nothing helped me for any length of time. Dr. Lemma and his P.A. Steve Harris supported me up until my surgery in 2012. Dr. Lemma performed 2 fusions and a laminectomy. I received superb care at Good Samaritan Hospital. I cannot understate what a magnificent human being Dr. Lemma is - so skilled, so compassionate. Also, he was the first doctor I saw who knew about my (impending) cauda equina syndrome. I know longer have numbness in my legs, nor my pelvic area. I am so grateful for Dr. Lemma and his practice.

I went to Dr. Lemma for a second opinion upon learning I would need surgery for a degenerative disc. Dr. Lemma was very thorough with his explanation of the condition and how it would be treated. He also discovered one disc was cracked, something the first surgeon didn't see on the MRI. I had my L4 and L5 discs fused. It's been less than three weeks since surgery and I feel great! Although I still have more recovery ahead, the pain in my legs is almost non-existent compared to my condition prior to surgery. Dr. Lemma did explain that, due to the cracked disc, my pain may only be relieved by 80%. Well, I feel it's been relieved by 99%! My mobility (walking distances, standing up straight) has greatly improved. I found Dr. Lemma's name in the list of the Top 100 Spine Surgeons in the U.S. in U.S. News and World Reports. He has truly lived up to his place on that list. I would highly recommend him and his staff.

After following my cervical stenosis for three years , Dr. Lemma decided that " it's time to do surgery". His view of "wait until needed" was both wise and correct--he views the entire patient, not just the problem he is dealing with. After seeing him for three years, my confidence was high. His physicians assistant, Steve Harris, was reassuring and confident. The surgery went as expected. Repeated follow ups with both Dr. Lemma were prompt. Six months after surgery I slipped and fell on some ice; he saw me promptly and determined there was no damage. Without the slightest doubt I would rate him as one of the top two surgeons I have dealt with.
