Dr. Michael Aron, MD

I saw Dr. Aron for shoulder pain. After some imaging the conclusion was that I had tendonitis and a suspect partially torn labrum from a previous baseball injury. Since I'm in my late 50's, Dr. Aron recommended a conservative treatment of a cortisone injection, NSAIDs, and rest for a period of time. He did not recommend surgery because the labrum wasn't bad enough and he said that if I was willing to modify my athletic activities, I could avoid surgery altogether and the shoulder will heal to a reasonable degree. I really didn't want surgery so I took his advice and took up new sports. My shoulder is now fine and I'm enjoying sports that don't impact my shoulder as much. I appreciate a doctor that takes a conservative and pragmatic approach to injuries, recovery times and probabilities, and my age.

Visited him at his Avon office today. He walked in with an impersonal greeting. I was there for a 2nd opinion on severe arthritis in my wrist and shoulder pain from an old injury. He did not ask probing questions, was aloof, and looked a bit unkept. He suggested a cortisone shot for my shoulder which he administered in my arm. Previously I had received one into the shoulder joint directly from above?!? He also administered the shot without putting gloves on. I am deeply disappointed I selected him for a second opinion.

Dr. Aron has taken care of BOTH my wrist fractures! 7 years ago I broke my left wrist. He had to operate and it turned out well. I did have to go to therapy but he was encouraging and sympathetic when I complained. He was very patient with me. So recently I broke the other wrist. This time all he had to do was cast it and it too turned out great. He took the time to listen to all my complaining. I recommend him highly!

I say Dr. Aaron for a work related injury. He told me that my "symptoms didn't add up that I couldn't be in as much pain as I claimed." He made reference to my file and the "excessive imaging" I had. He wouldn't even see me until his staff took an x-ray!!! It turned out that my pain level was caused by a torn rotator cuff and frayed labrum. Fast forward 3 years and I have undergone two shoulder surgeries, a cervical spine fusion surgery and am facing another cervical spine surgery. Had Dr. Aaron not assumed that because this injury happened at work that I was exaggerating my pain and put his ego aside and listened to me, I could have been helped sooner. I saw Dr. Michael Miranda of Orthopedics of Hartford who not only helped me with my shoulder issue, he was competent enough to realize that my continued post op pain was a result of issues from my neck. I would not refer my worst enemy to Dr. Aaron.

He did carpal tunnel surgery on me. It went well and I feel so much better now. The whole experience went very well. I highly recommend him

My daughter injured her hand in skiing accident. Dr Aron was very thorough and reassuring in discussing treatment plan. We felt cared for as well as treated. Would highly recommend Dr Aron

Best surgeon for carpal tunnel syndrome!

I had suffered for years from carpal tunnel syndrome. I was afraid to have surgery but Dr. Aron was very caring and now I feel great!

Dr Aron did surgery on my left hand for an arthroplasty. At 1st I was very unsure of the surgery having had had it on my right hand in the past from another MD. Dr Aron reasurred me that every surgery is different. Well he was right! I am now 3 months out and going kayaking this weekend . Last surgery I was 9 months before I had my life back. I have had 5 or 6 surgeries performed by Dr Aron. These were for trigger fingers, frozen shoulders and most recently a broken wrist. In each case the staff was above and beyond. From the receptionists to the radiologists to anyone who dealt with me, they were professional, friendly, caring, interested and showed compassion and concern. A special nod goes to Mary Jane as well as the gentleman who wrapped my hand at the first visit for this broken wrist. Can't recall the name, but he was so very nice, and readily answered questions. As for Dr Aron........excellent doctor. Each surgery has been successful, pain moderation handled well and recovery time quick, with 100% restoration of the injured area. I feel this is a direct result of Dr. Aron' s skill as an Orthopedic surgeon. I would, and do, recommend him to anyone needing surgery in his area of expertise.
