I’ve been going to the Wesleyan location for many many years. I had both eyes cataracts removed by Dr Caplan. I always see Dr Garza. He is very through and extremely professional and listens to you comments and concerns. Then in optical I met w/Roni Kentner this time. She was very accommodating and extremely patient. I feel she gave me her honest options when I asked for them. She helped me through my choices and decisions making the entire experience a joy. I don’t plan to go anywhere else ever. I was so nervous and afraid to have cataract surgery on both eyes, but Dr. Caplan and staff were so caring and reassuring that I knew I was in capable hands. My surgeries were 2 weeks apart, and since I had such an amazing experience with my first eye, I was quite calm and comfortable during the second surgery. Every concern of mine was met with professionalism and caring. After surgery, my telephone calls were returned promptly by Lisa, and she answered all my questions and concerns. I couldn't believe how clear, crisp, and bright everything looked. l didn't realize that I had been seeing whites as dull yellow before surgery, and was thrilled to now be able to see pure bright white and vibrant colors. As someone who has never even attempted to use contact lenses due to a terrible fear of anything near my eyes, I was terrified of Lasik. I knew I was tired of wearing glasses; I had been since I was nine years old. Dr. Caplan and the staff of the center were so patient with me, so very kind, and incredibly professional. I had RK long ago and Lasik. It's time for cataract surgery and the only place I wanted to go was back to Berkeley Eye Centers. I researched Dr. Caplan and have faith that he can perform the surgery that other doctors were hesitant to do. Alma Martinez was kind and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Caplan took his time to explain things and I felt he was confident in his ability to perform my surgery. Lisa my surgery coordinator was kind, took her time and answered a zillion questions. I went to see Dr. Caplan about removing my cataracs. While there I asked about the lens implant and would I be a canadate for the procedure, because 20 yrs. ago I had a different type eye surgery and I had been told that there was not anything that could be done for my eyes. Dr. Caplan examined those old scars and said that he could but a little concerned about the left eye. So on 1-25-18 he did the surgery and by the next wk. even Dr. Caplan was very surprised at the out come. I couldn't believe how good I could see out of that eye. A long story about that eye, there was a serious scaring and was a miricale that he could help. I would recomend him to ANYONE for any eye problem. If Dr. Caplan couldn't help, I have no doubt that he would say so and try to find a dr. that could. He is more intrnisted in helping people see than the money. Feeling Very Blessed. I was Chosen for a 36 Month Clinical Trial at Berkeley. I had my final appointment yesterday. I passed with flying colors. I was truly and awesome experience. Starting with Dr. Caplan who did an amazing job during surgery and to Bobby and Dr. Garza your did all my follow-up on the trial. Words aren't enough to THANK YOU you all.
