Dr. Michael Sungwon Bahk, MD

I am sure that Dr. Bahk is a good surgeon but on my visits, I had to wait an hour past appointment time to see him and after reading my MRI (which he had not looked at before I arrived) He literally said "You have a partial tear, you can get a cortisone shot, do PT or surgery... What do you want to do?" I was taken back and said, "PT I guess" he said, "great I'll write the order and then left the room" – Giving someone that news and charging almost $1,000 for the visit and $3,000 for the MRI justified more than 30 seconds of time for an explanation – At least I think

Dr Bahk and his team are friendly and caring, did not push me into any procedures and the doctor was open and willing to talk me through my concerns. My recovery has been smooth :-)

Waited and prolonged my shoulder surgery because I was nervous about the outcome. Dr. Bahk did a great job of going over all my options, the pros and cons of each, and was always available if I ever had any questions or concerns.

Dr, Bahk and his team are "first drawer" in all respects. I'm ready for the left shoulder repair as soon as the right is fully rehabilitated. Thanks you Dr. Bahk!!!

Dr. Bank and the squad over here, they were all amazing. Always polite, if I had a question Doc and the team always had an answer for me. An all around good experience. I have never had a injury like this but if i ever do again i know what Doc and team I want on my side the team of DR. Bank and everyone over at SCOI. Thank you all. I'm still in recovery and look forward to this next part of the journey with Doc and the rest of the team at SCOI.

Dr. Bahk is an excellent and friendly physician and surgeon. I couldn't be happier with the care I've received before and since my surgery. And I've encountered others who've had the same experience. I strongly recommend him.

Dr. Back was recommended to me as a 2nd opinion doctor. He was also a specialist with sports related injuries. He and his team showed great compassion regarding my injury. He clearly explained my MIR findings and all the treatment options. The teams major concern was my road to recovery and qualifying of life. their Mobil communication made it easy to check on my daily progress.

Dr. Bahk and SCOI have always done a great job both in surgery and after care. Being able to get answers to my concerns right away is always a great benefit. I would and have reccomended Dr. Bahk to others.

This was a great experience. Every part of this surgery from the pre op testing, scheduling, insurance processing, medication support, the surgical procedure & the post op follow up have been as pleasant as possible. Even the quick pre op visit given a possible issue was dealt with quickly & easily. I have had several surgeries over the years but this SCOI physician continues to impress.

Dr Bahk is wonderful, and I can't recommend him enough. He was available to me when I had a very bad trauma to my leg a few years back, and now repaired my knee. In a world where Dr's are rushing, he doesn't, and he has a very nice approach, to wait and see, and then make it the best it can be. I really appreciate his kindness, and knowledge.

First time having surgery with general anesthesia (torn meniscus repair) and Dr. Bahk and the SCOI team did a phenomenal job preparing me and making sure I knew exactly what to do during recovery. The HealthLoop app proved very helpful during recovery as well since I could get an answer to a question quickly from Dr. Bahk's team of assistants. If I ever need knee surgery again, I'm definitely going to him. 10 out of 10!

Dr. Bahk and his entire staff are great. The surgery and recovery were far better than I expected. I was in far less pain and have recovered far quicker than I expected (even by what Dr. Bahk told me to expect). Make sure to get the "blocker" and use the cold therapy machine more frequently than even prescribed. I went to Dr. Bahk after receiving him as a referral from a friend of mine who had the same surgery. I was back to work (with restricted duty) 2 weeks after surgery.

I was very apprehensive about how the knee surgery would go and especially worried about afterwards. But much to my delight, the whole process was easy. My worries were unfounded. Sure, I have pain in the knee, but someone took a knife to it! If ever I need ortho surgery again, Dr Bahk and his team will be seeing me.

Everything from start to finish was just as stated. Everything went off without a hitch. Very pleased with the doctor and his staff and the surgery center. Very professional and thorough.

From the moment I arrived to Dr Bahk’s office, I felt my concerns were heard and genuine concern from the Doctor, as well. I didn’t feel like just another patient. Process of operation till the day of procedure was spot on. A bit nervous on day of procedure but the hole staff made it pleasant and comfortable. I was called the day after procedure to check on stays and every day after. Overall, my stitches look amazing and I’m now in recovery mode.
