Dr. Michael Finbar Sheehan, DO

Dr Sheehan is amazing and REALLY knows his stuff! I can say without a doubt he is one of the most intelligent persons I've ever met. He has years upon years worth of experience in clinical trials, addiction therapy, and neurological disorders as well. I feel lucky to have been his patient for the last 6 years and hopefully for many more.

The conclusion of my first visit with Dr Michael Sheehan left me inspired and uplifted. This talented professional was easy to talk with, asked serious questions and provided, what I think, was an accurate diagnosis. The treatment is getting me my life back! I've been seeking mental medical help for over 10 years; now I've found it.

Dr. Sheehan is very easy to talk to. He listens and truly cares about how you feel about what is going on in your life and medications. Yes, you may have to wait...but he would give you the same amount of extra time should there be a day that you need that extra time (I find that to be an important quality). I would hate for him to cut me off mid major issue so he could see the next person right on schedule. I feel very safe and comfortable having him as my doctor. ks

Dr Sheehan was very helpful to my family almost 20 years ago. I recommend him highly for people who don't want to spend years trying to get the right meds.

He's in love with your money, not his patients. Lady at the front desk is ruthless unclear on rules save yourself the time/trouble of dealing with her, not to mention wasting time talking to the doctor while he's on Facebook

As a mental health professional myself, I sought the very best treatment possible following a chronic illness that affected my psychological functioning. After extensive searching and recommendations by other psychiatrists with whom I have worked ... I located Dr. Sheehan. His knowledge is expansive; he maintains current knowledge of new medications and treatment methodologies; and he has excellent rapport (compassionate and listens to a surprisingly refreshing degree). Dr. Sheehan is an easy dr to talk to. He addresses problems I bring up and knows his stuff regarding medications, symptoms, etc. I guess you could say he is a typical psychiatrist- prescribes meds and tells you to follow up with a psychologist.

Am a longtime client of Dr. Michael Sheehan. I see him for severe to moderate anxiety/panic disorder. He is the best doctor I have ever been in treatment with for this disorder. He has worked tirelessly with me in finding the right meds. He is cheerful, is an excellent listerner and has a gentle demeanor. I highly recommend him to anyone suffering with panic attacks.

Compassionate, understanding, respectful, and the list could go on... I've been traveling at least 3hrs round trip to see Dr. Sheehan for over 5yrs now. I study the medical journals, and I've seen way too many other Dr's. He knows the best researchers in neurology and is always aware of the newest research. The only downside is that he'll spend as much time as necessary with you. Why is this a downside...because he does this with everyone, and that can make for some long wait times, and Long days for him!

I would like to respectfully give this positive review about Dr. Michael Sheehan. I saw Dr Sheehan from 2002 to 2007 and he was very practical, kind, and I would say, very remarkable in conflict resolution and listening skills. I currently live in Miami Beach and have been seeing Dr Larry Rosenthal (also a psychiatrist) who has met Dr Michael Sheehan in the past and also speaks about Dr M Sheehan's reputation for being an EXCELLENT PSYCHIATRIST!!!

I have seen Dr. Sheehan for 15 years and am being treated for anxiety. I had seen three psychiatrists before him, who appeared to know nothing about proper medication to treat anxiety. Thanks to Dr. Sheehan, I was given effective medications so I was able to complete my Bachelors and Masters Degrees, and get into the field I wanted. He spends time with you and is always compassionate. You usually have to wait so I bring a book. But if I need extra time with him he gives it. His office manager- Tabiena, is wonderful and always a pleasure to talk to.

I'm writing this review from 17yrs of experience with the psychiatric community. That's A LOT of Dr.'s and MANY failed treatments! I've been seeing Dr. Sheehan for the past few years. We are slowly recovering my health, most of which was compromised by the ignorance of previous Dr.'s. Dr. Sheehan is up to date on the most current research and will show you compassion and empathy. If you can get into to see him consider yourself Blessed!

Dr Michael Sheehan is an expert in his field. He is willing to spend as much time as it takes to help me understand my condition, medications and my options. He listens to what I have to say and is willing to educate a patient who wants to learn to help him/herself. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and trustworthy. He is a great doctor and a good man. I have bipolar disorder which is treatment resistant. In addition, my body does not tolerate meds well so at times I have been a difficult patient. Through all the difficulties, he has stuck by me, even when I thought he might get sick of me and drop me--he Stuck By Me. He is a great doctor and I'm becoming whole again.

Although sometimes Dr. Sheehan has no waiting time, be preparred to do so. Waiting is hard, but what makes it worthwhile is that I know when I may need a few extra minutes, Dr. Sheehan will be there for me, too.
