He is highly skilled and focused on providing the best treatment. His recommendations were excellent and I feel very fortunate to have been treated by him with stem cell injections for the cervical and lumbar spine. There are few physicians who can do what he does. Highly recommend!

Completely impressed with both my results and the treatment from Dr. Meighen. I have struggled with my health for years and for the 1st time... I found a Doctor who is interested in helping me live longer and more healthy than ever before. My first interaction with Dr. Meighen set the tone as he started with a run down of my labs and then asked what I wanted in the way of my health. (WOW a Doctor who cares about what I want for my life!!) So we discussed it and then started working on a plan. I have been under his care for the past 6 months and am very happy with the results! Currently I am stronger physically, mentally and am in the best health of my adult life! I'm excited about the future and DO recommend Dr. Michael Meighen to anyone I cared about. I was assigned this doctor for a worker's compensation case. He has no bedside manner whatsoever, rude, cruel and direct. He treated me less than dirt, certainly not like a human being should be treated. He didn't care that I had been injured. All he cared about was not giving me the help I needed because he believed I was trying to cheat the system since it was a worker's compensation case. He didn't even know me. I fell down a flight of stairs at work and had a concussion and neurology issues. My back and neck were injured and needed chiropractic treatment. I was forced to continue to see Dr. Meighen throughout my treatment. Worker's compensation would not allow me to see another doctor even after I explained how he was treating me. He stopped approving the chiropractic care without even telling me. It left me with a $2,600 outstanding bill that took me over a year to pay for. Because of his cruel and uncaring nature it reminded me of the way I had been treated in an abusive marriage. He even managed to make me cry. Way to go Dr. Meighen.

Rude does not even begin to describe this quack. Injections will be your only option with him. $$$ My pain was tripled after one injection. Run while you can!

I absolutely love Dr. Meighen & the staff in office here at SpineNevada. I have never had the best experience with a health care provider or their staff until I came here and I’m so glad I did!! The Providers are so nice and help you to understand what’s going on and work with you to fix or manage the issue. I love Dr. Meighen he is one awesome sauce Doctor!!!! Don’t ever Change!!

The Facility and equipment are the best I’ve seen, all the employees are very nice. Dr. Meighen is very professional and knows his work. Only down side was the wait a little long.

You could tell immediately that he felt far superior to any patient - he was just downright rude. Never helped despite many visits He just kept saying (my back fracture will heal over and over again), It's been nearly 3 years and I'm still not OK. So GLAD he moved from Ortho Carolina - All he did was argue and try to show his superiority. Absolutely NO Compassion or Empathy. I don't think he is capable of this emotions.

Well first I was set to see a Dr Letchner...he put me on Predizone,which I found out I'm allergic to...called the office to let them know and when he called me back he acted as if I were lying,so I told him I could get the report where I had to call 911,so he sat up an mri,called a week later and have me report and then I was made an appointment with Dr Neighbor. Ok..I've been around a few doctors in my lifetime,but this one is memorable for being a butt! He did his little test walking up and down the hall and all that,but what got me was when he was explaining the mri..my disk is herniated not bad but tissue is tore. I have had chronic pain in the sciatic for a long time,had many injections,they don't help. He tells me he don't buy it????? I told him I'm not selling anything,I just want to be able to walk and have some type of normal life.I didn't go and ask for drugs,that was not at all what was on my mind,but because a person comes in in pain and he can't figure it out he treats you like you're there just for meds. I'm 55...I want some quality of life! No I do not recommend this practice to anyone.

I took my mother to see him because someone recommended him and said he really helped. My mother had severe back pain. He examined her and took the time to ask questions about her lifestyle and history. I felt he was very good in identifying some of her problems. He recommended an injection. He was very caring and the injection went well. She saw relief and would get another injection if needed.

I found this doctor to be very helpful. He took the time to look at several reasons that could be causing my pain that I had not thought of before. I really got more answers from him than anyone else I had seen. He gave me some new options that I was willing to try.

I was recommended this doctor by a family member that liked him and saw relief in her pain. I was able to get an appointment quickly, but that would be the only successful thing. I have a bulging disk in my lower back causing months of excruciating pain. I've been given pain meds by my pcp and had done rounds of prednisone. I can't work/sleep/function b/c of this pain, nor do I like taking pain meds. That's what I walk in with. I'm in too much pain to do rehab or I would. (It's also annoying that this industry acts like work schedules can just be rearranged so easily to do rehab.) My schedule is already booked out six months in advance. The rehab hours are always during work hours. I could pull this off if the hours were extended or on weekends. He did an exam and I was attempting to recover from my exam/assault when he rattled off my options. I could have used a few minutes to recover but wasn't given that. He wanted me to do rehab asap and another very high dose round of pred. Fun for me...yeah. At this first visit, he also mentions we can do a spinal injection. At this point I would have let him saw me in half I was pretty desperate. I did the round of pred and felt little relief. I agreed to the injection. From the start, the staff and himself wanted me sedated, even though that's optional. Having had an allergic reaction to an epidural before, I was not up for doing another. (Having the sedation requires use of the $$$$$ expensive surgery center, whereas he offers the same procedure as an office visit as his office.) I went to the surgery center and pretty much insisted on no meds. It went well in that I didn't panic or flinch.I did notice however that the injection was on the opposite side of where the pain was. I didn't question this. I was told I'd be sore which was to be expected. I was told it could take up to a week to feel relief. I'm two weeks out and the pain is still 9/10. I'm out a lot of $$$ and have no pain relief. When I spoke to a nurse at the surgery center about my experience, she said they may have to do multiple injections. Conclusion, I wasn't impressed by his "bedside manner" if you want to call it that. I was in ridiculous pain and didn't feel like I was heard. There was zero empathy. I'm going to seek another opinion. At the very least, I hope to find someone who hears me.

I found this doctor to be very thorough with me. I had several complaints and he tried to deal with all of them. He talked to me honestly about my past history as being sedentary and encouraged me to find some form of exercise. I thought he was very thoughtful and he was able to identify some things that my primary care doctor could not help me with.

Could be a little more personable and speak to patient.

If you looked up the meaning of rude, lack of bedside manner, and ego trip, you would DEFINITELY see his picture! I was hit by a drunk driver and had bad neck and back injuries (had 3 cervical fusion surgeries as a result), but at my first appt. with him, I got the impression that I was "bothering him"! If you ask me the man has no heart or compassion! I work as a hospice nurse, so I'm around doctors all the time!!!!!! He should not be working on patients, because people have feelings......maybe he should choose a profession that doesn't require COMPASSION! He's cold, callous, and rude!!!!

He was the worst physician I have ever visited. He did not care what my problem was, and neither did his staff. He had absolutely no bed side manner, and dismissed me from his office. This physician must treat a lot of drug addicts because he carries a demeanor that the only reason you are there is to get pain meds. I would not recommend him to anyone. I have also seen other doctor's in Ortho Carolina and would not suggest this practice to anyone. Look elsewhere, just a waste of time.

He pre diagnoses you before you get in the door.. Worst DR I have ever seen. Doesnâ??t care what you have to say about your conditions

I had my 1st appointment scheduled, but before hand I been bedridden in pain for almost a week. My pain was dismissed, he couldn't have cared less that I was there. I was given horrible "medical" advice that would not help my condition, because he didn't listen to what was actually wrong with me.

Extremely disappointed in this physician. Up to my visit with him at OrthoCarolina my experience has always been pleasant. When he entered the room, it was obvious that he already had the answer for me before asking any questions. His tone and body language is sarcastic, can't keep eye contact and appears to enjoy his authoritative position. Once HIS discussion was complete, I was given a few options and felt rushed to make a decision. The last comment he made before exiting the room was, "I'll leave the room so you can get dressed" ; I made him aware that I was already dressed, which reinforces that this was a standard routine and he could care less if you are there or not. I definitely would not recommend this physician!

I visited Dr Meighen with chronic back pain.He could not find anything causing the pain but was very honest with me.I am overweight and have not ever exercised.He referred me to physical therapy and got me moving.I then went on to join a gym.I am not on my pain meds any more and I appreciate someone like him giving me the truth that I needed to hear.I am not yet pain free but I feel much better.He is a good doctor who doesn't just give pain meds all the time.He got me on the right path.

When he entered the room he does not look you in the eyes. If At All. He was backing out of door when I was not through asking questions. Ask Me What do you want me to do about it? He did not believe me! MRI confirmed a problem that needs surgery. My dog gets more respect at the Vet. Would not recommend to anyone. Needs to realize that patients pay his salary and be THANKFUL!
