Amazing to find a great doctor that actually cares about his patients. He has done surgery on my husband’s neck and back with great results. He and his staff always greet us with a smile and a good word. We recently moved out of his area, but it doesn’t matter because we will drive to wherever he goes. You don’t give up the best. I recommend him to everyone if they have back problems.

I would give him 10 out of 5 he is that good. Neck Surgery went exactly as he said (except he repaired additional items that were not apparent from MRI). So far recovery has been right on track with what he told me. I have no doubt at the end of 3 months recovery I will feel better than I have in years because I already do. TPS

On March 17, 2023, Dr. Michael Moghimi, orthopedic spine surgeon with Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin, replaced the disc between my L2 and L3 vertebrae with a cylindrical cage that contained bone graft material. Before surgery, the femoral nerve in my right thigh was very painful when I would stand and especially when I would walk. After surgery, the femoral nerve pain was totally gone! Thank you, Dr. Moghimi!

Dr. Moghimi performed a spinal fusion a year ago after I suffered terrible pain in my legs for months before it occurred to me that the problem was not my legs. The surgery was a complete success. He also cleaned out some other damaged vertebrae above the fusion site. I recently had my one-year followup to find complete healing. I had a 90-day healing period and I've been playing pickle ball 3-4 times a week ever since with zero issues. Dr. Moghimi was a great surgeon and physician caring for me the whole time. Highly recommended!

I had severe leg pain all the way from my butt to my toes. My Doctor thought I needed to see a surgeon and Refer'd me to Dr. Moghimi. He said if he was having back surgery he would choose him to do the surgery. Dr. Moghimi knew exactly what all my symptoms were. After reviewing my MRI, he recommended a spinal fusion for me to relieve my pinched nerves. 4 Weeks after surgery I'm recovering fast! My nerve pain is no more. Since the nerves are no longer pinched my nerves are being restored. I would highly recommend Dr. Moghim, he did a great job!

Visited with Dr. Moghimi for a 3rd opinion on low back (SI & Bertolotti’s Syndrome) problems. I also have scoliosis. Dr. Moghimi was fabulous in that he reviewed my existing scans / X-rays and requested one additional minor diagnostic test to confirm the origin of my pain. His diagnosis and recommendation was confirmed by my pain management dr. Spot on. Easy to talk to, answered my questions and gave me options. Follow up visit this week. I highly recommend him.

Knowing you have a herniated cervical disc is scary enough without the fear of finding a doctor who will take the time to listen to your needs, worries, and expectations. Dr. Moghimi is that doctor! He was very compassionate and listened to all my complaints and fears and assured me that he will do what needs to be done to correct the issue. He truly listens to the patient and goes with what they are willing to do and try. We first started out with physical therapy but I later decided that we needed to explore the idea of surgery, he concurred. I am 2 weeks post-op from my ACDF (C5-C7) and I feel amazing. Him and his team work so well together that I honestly feel that there is no stupid question. When I first went to Dr. Moghimi, I was in constant intense sciatic nerve pain in my leg from severe spinal stenosis. I had this pain for at least 6 months. Dr. Moghimi explained that I needed spinal fusion surgery to repair my spine and relieve the pain. After my surgery, my leg was pain-free (as he said it would be). I am still on the road to recovery, but I can now function normally again. Dr. Moghimi gave me back my life.

For those of you considering spine surgeons, I want to share my positive experience with Dr. Michael Moghimi. I was suffering mightily from nerve pain that stretched from my neck to thumb. With X-rays and an MRI, Dr. Moghimi determined that I was a textbook case for C5-C6 ACDF surgery. He performed surgery two weeks ago and I feel fantastic. Prior to selecting Dr. Moghimi, I saw another physician who did not think I needed surgery right away. I’m not saying the other physician made a mistake, but I believe Dr. Moghimi was more certain about the diagnosis and what should be done to relieve my pain. It turned out Dr. Moghimi was correct in his recommendation to have surgery immediately. His team is excellent and the communication with them has been clear and easy. They provided me the opportunity to ask all my questions before and after surgery. His team returns calls quickly. Having had two other surgeries last year, I was reticent to jump back into the operating room, but I am glad I did and wish I had done this earlier. Dr. Moghimi did a great job and I am thankful he was my surgeon.

A car accident left me with C5-6 and C6-7 disc herniations. I was having severe nerve pain, tingling, and numbness in my neck, arms and legs. After physical therapy determined unsuccessful, my doctor at Central Texas Pain Center ordered an MRI, which revealed a hematoma on my spinal cord from the C5-6 herniation. He then referred me to Dr. Michael Moghimi and I am thankful that he did. I did my research and consulted with three other surgeons prior to choosing Dr. Moghimi to perform the surgery. I am now 6 months out from the Level 2 Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion procedure, with a successful fusion and no nerve pain. While I was in his care, Dr. Moghimi had an â??open doorâ?? of communication. He takes the time to listen, thoroughly addresses any questions or concerns, and takes your input seriously. His empathetic, caring and positive demeanor left me feeling assured that I was in fully capable and competent hands, and I was. Dr. Moghimiâ??s nurses and staff members at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin are kind, compassionate, and thorough. They treated me as if they were interested in me as an individual, not just as a patient. I truly feel that Dr. Moghimi and his team set the benchmark to be followed in orthopedic surgery and care.
