Dr. Munir Ahmad Shah

I have been treated by Dr. Shah for both hand and shoulder ailments. Outcomes were excellent in both cases. I have no hesitation to recommend Dr. Shah.

I saw “Doctor” Shah after I had dislocated my left wrist. He literally laughed in my face. He made remarks about how “lucky” I am that I don’t have the same problems as another patient with my condition, without even asking my medical history. He also failed to mention that I had torn something in my wrist. His nurse had a horrible attitude and gave me a cast so terrible that it cut my thumb and I could slip it off. I left his office crying. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. I got refunded for the visit because it was so bad. There are many good doctors at Woodlands Sports Medicine, and unfortunately, he is NOT one.

Dr. Shah did two thumb reconstructions for me. What I appreciated most was his directness about risk and outcomes and how he valued my opinion as a partner in the process. At times Dr. Shah can seem a bit direct, but it is because he challenges his patients to be a part of the decision-making.

I have been to Dr. Shah many times, with injuries from falls....Now I am taking my mom, who is 95. I trust his opinion, his expertise, & his treatments. His nurses are all very cordial, friendly & professional...however, JENNIFER is the one nurse that I am always looking for. She's honest, funny & very helpful with our visit....I always look forward to seeing her when I visit. Dr. Shah/Jennifer....win/win.

Dr Shah is the best orthopedist, I couldn’t make it without him and his expertise. The best nurses as well, friendly and knowledgeable, they are the extended hand of Dr Shah, especially Jennifer!!

Best experience Ice ever had at an Orthopedic facility. From scheduling an appointment, quick wait time, great nurses, then last but not least, Dr Shah was outstanding. My whole experience was great! My friends told me how great he was and now I believe them. I got an injection for my tennis elbow and got 100% relief. I would refer anyone to this office! You can't forget the small people too, his nurses were excellent!

I came to see Dr. Shah about elbow pain and didn't have to wait long to be seen at all. The doctor was willing to sit down and answer any questions I had. He diagnosed me within the first visit, and the injections really helped my pain.

From my initial point of contact, which was scheduling my first appointment, to my final release, my entire experience was seamless. The staff worked closely with me to work me into their schedule. Dr. Shah reviewed my x-rays, examined my hand and explained the next steps, which included surgery. My surgery was explained and scheduled, as was physical therapy. All this was completed the first day with minimal effort on my part. I completely understood all aspects of what was to take place, received appropriate follow up calls and the surgery took place as scheduled. All follow up visits were handled in the same professional manner. I have since referred a friends' daughter to Dr. Shah, as her injury was not healing as it should. The cost was explained up front and was appropriate for the situation. When I first injured my hand, and was referred to a specialist, I had no idea who to select. I did some research and asked people I knew if they had a recommendation. Dr. Shah's name came up in every conversation. I feel Blessed to have chosen such a competent, caring surgeon and staff. I am grateful to this entire organization for the treatment I received.

While the wait time can be longer depending on how early you show up for your appointment, seeing Dr. Shah was definitely worth it. He knows exactly what he's doing and his surgery on me was excellent. My health has improved and I recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Shah took the time to answer all of my questions. He was pleasant and had a good "bedside manner." The one thing I think he could improve upon was providing a more thorough discussion of the schedule of treatment (e.g., stitches will be removed on next visit, etc.) Also, his nurse returned calls promptly, but was not always responsive to my concerns and did not always demonstrate a caring attitude.

Extremely competent surgeon. He tells it like it is but his intentions are completely sincere. Dr. Shah is a tremendous patient advocate.

Please, don't go to this doctor. He doesn't even seem interested in your condition. Acts like your bothering him. Had wrist surgery, worst pain I've evered experienced after a surgical procedure and the so called nurse was NO help when I would call. Told me to just put ice on it and elevate it. I hade been doing that for a week. Down right refused to contact Dr. Shah and told me there was no one else to talk to. I explained my pain level and was told basically to deal with it that the Dr. would be back in the office the next morning. His nurse Jennifer is a poor excuse for a nurse. The entir staff seems like they have something better to do than see or deal with patients.

CRAP - is an understatement....wonder how he even became a medical doctor.

This doctor spent more time complimenting my blouse than he did treating my hand. He had no idea what was wrong with it. He didn't even touch it. It was only when he did an ultrasound that he got excited. His exact words, "WOW! Look at what's going on with that finger! What is that?" Needless to say, I quickly left and got a second opinion with a better trained orthopedic surgeon. Don't waste your time with this guy.

Been going to Dr Shah for several years. First for my husband and now for me. He is a nice man. I trust his skills as a diagnostitian and as a surgeon. Staff is good too. Very competent.

I spend like 4-5 visits with xray on each one one MRI and all for nothing no diagnostic and last appointment ...you better check a second opinion....don't even bother of any kind of explanation worst doctor I have ever seen! !!!

I was referred to Dr. Shah by another orthopedic surgeon in Houston who told me that for the hand, there simply was no one better. So naturally, I went in with very high expectations. I found Dr. Shah to be straight forward and to the point. But after I got my hand surgery, my respect for him only grew. The surgery was a brilliant success and I was just amazed with the results and the lack of complications! Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience.

Dr. Shah is very knowledgable and I felt confident with his treatment. However, he spent very little time explaining the condition and procedure and was not very personable. The exam room was very small, but typical of other ortho surgeons' set-up for hand exams. Two very painful steroid injections into the joints were given with no mention of followup other than, "If this doesn't work, we might have to do it again." Nor was I told how long it would take for results. Dr. Shah's staff is to be commended. They were very friendly, professional and compassionate.
