Dr. Naveed Shaz Ummed, MD

Not sure why he has almost all negative reviews. He listened to me and gave insightful opinions based on my emotional state. He started me on low doses of an anti-depressant (Citalopram) and a sleeping pill (Dioxin). I looked them up when I arrived home and his dosage was consistent with what doctors usually start new patients on. I am looking forward to seeing him in a few weeks for a follow up appointment. I have no complaints at all. He's definitely "to the point" so I wonder if some other reviewers were just looking for a shoulder to cry on? I highly recommend him if you're looking to have problems addressed.

Look at the dates of the previous reviews; they are old. It is also important to realize that not everyone will happy with every doctor they see; sometimes personalities do not mesh well. Decide for yourself by seeing the doctor not by someone's opinion.

"Dr" Ummed got his medical degree in another country where it doesn't take much to get your medical degree. This is apparent during office visits. He is cold, mean, talked to me and my family members in such a hateful and dismissive way. Very bad vibes. I think he doesn't like females. important to note he misdiagnosed me and was too busy to listen.

Dr Ummed didn't listen to me, spoke to me in a condescending manner, prescribed medication without explaining that the side effects could be potentially dangerous along with my other medication. Tried to milk my insurance. He would not return phone calls for four days because he "was busy" I would not see him again even if i were dying.

Dismissive, rude and argumentative from the start. Told me several things which were untrue. Incorrectly diagnosed me which nearly cost my life. Thank god I got a second opinion.
