Last Saturday, I went into my bedroom,had my work clothes in my arms, I rammed my foot into the steel,my right foot, I heard my own bone crack,not ..a...gopleasant sound or feeling, so not a good sound and definitely not a good feeling, I'd rather give birth..so I ended up going to St.Elizabeth urgent care in Union, they took an X-ray and said I'd need another one due to the fact that my baby toe curls under my 4th toe, i made an appt at Ortho Cincy for Monday, he didn't look at my foot..just said it will just heal on its own..i said I think its broke on top..he said it just feels like it because your toes are broke, im sorry yes, he did touch my foot lol..he pushed down on it, on a few area, so, no, new X-ray, im in really bad pain..im doing what he suggested, icing, etc..he gave me 10 percocet 5mg, I took them, I feel like I possibly have some small fractures in my foot other than my toes, so back ill go, another appt..and no refill on pain meds, why should I be in pain, the only time I do any narcotics is when I absolutely have too, and this is an example..thanks to the ones who dabble with heroin, I have to suffer more than need be, im in pain, and I'm unhappy, I feel like he didn't have the time or concern for me...

Crashed a Motorcycle on the Isle of Man Race Coarse 26 May 2017, ankle was set 6 days after the crash. Procedures and care were followed however the ankle just did not heal and 7 months later Dr. Nicholas T Gates took the time in our first meeting to fully explain my options, December 12th I underwent outpatient surgery; plate, screws and what not at St. Elizabeth Edgewood performed by Dr. Gates. Follow up showed it is now healing well, office visit was patient focused and a 2nd follow up visit was scheduled. Really liked the entire process. I comment all involved for the treatment I received. Most Excellent !

Dr. GATES just repaired a tendon in my ankle that had disintegrated. My recovery is going very quickly and is virtually painless. I had this tendon repaired about four years ago by a different doctor and the repair did not hold. Dr. GATES PATIENTLY explained all options and ultimately put me back together. I will recommend him to anyone with foot or ankle issues. He is very knowledgeable and didn't push me to get surgery. He gave me all the facts and then helped my wife and me decide what was the best option. I am very impressed with his professionalism.

He is a great doctor! Very personal and gets the job done.

Contentious once finding out that I have a $6k deductable and couldn't justify an x-Ray for previous diagnosed soft tissue inflammation diagnosed by a general practitioner. He Poorly examination the part and injury site. Seemed only obligated to answer questions. Got a 2nd opinion the next day with a podiatrist and the quality of care from the podiatrist was a drastic improvement compared to Dr. Gates.

I got more assistance from his Assistant, Bev, than I did from him. There was NO pain management post-surgery and NO realistic estimation on length of recovery.
