Injured my knee playing basketball. Surgery was a breeze. Able to get back playing in two months!!!

I feel like Dr. Peter Salob motivations and incentives are in conflict with Patient’s interests. Here’s why. I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Peter Salob to review my MRI results. On the day of appointment, first time in my life, I was late by an hour for my medical appointment, which I deeply apologized for. But, the doctor was still at the clinic so I was hoping it should not take that long as I had the MRI results and there was no need to do any further diagnosis. However, they refused to take me in and ask to reschedule the appointment because I was two hours late, which is an incorrect statement in actual I was an hour late. Based on my experience, I am seriously questioning the incentive and motive of Dr. Peter Salob’s office to work with patient and re-mediate the medical issue as it took them more than four weeks to sit on the issue and it’s still pending. On the other hand, I was able to get an appointment with another doctor in few days and re mediate the issue immediately.

Absolutely horrendous staff. Dr. Salob is OK but his staff should be fired or re-trained to care for his patients. My son needs an MRI but the code they assigned was for muscle tear and it was denied by the insurance. Judy who is in charge of authorization and his assistant Chelly were rude and really did not care. When asking to return phone calls, they just did not. when asked if they called the insurance they lied that they did. Stay away from this practice, overbooked, waiting time is at least 1 hour to see the doctor who you see for 10 minutes. Disgraceful practice!

If I can give a negative 10 I would. Experienced excruciating pain after the first of three orthovisc shots. Called the Emergency line, nobody returned any calls. After waiting over one hour for a meeting with the doctor to discuss the pain, he did not address the long wait, the failure to return my phone call during the week on the emergency line nor the discuss a plan of care to deal with my pain going forward. He popped in the second shot and left immediately. Thereafter, I called to let him know the shot was causing numbness and tightness around my knee. Of course, I was left on the answering service for over 20 minutes listening to music. Then I called during work hours and was told that to get an MRI done, I would need to schlep myself, even though I could barely stand, and the x-ray was only five days old, because it is "COMPANY PROTOCOL." I objected to the visit since they have three visits already in which my pain is clear along with a current x-ray. They just wanted an opportunity to bill my insurance for an unnecessary visit. I asked to speak with the manager of the medical group. That was the cherry on top. His absolutely unprofessional and rude Operations Manager - Mercedes, sealed the deal. Rather than listen to the concern, she started with, instead of "fighting" with my staff, I will let the doctor know that you are canceling the appointment for the shot that "you accepted" to have, which was NOT the case, and let him know "you are demanding an MRI" . No apology. No discussion about the pain, no resolution. DO NOT GO HERE.

This surgeon came highly recommended to me. And I am so glad that I followed up on that recommendation! Taking me out of tremendous Patellar Tendon pain and restoring the use of my left leg...Here's what I can wholeheartedly say about this fine surgeon: A surgeon, a man, with a great personality and spirit that you can connect with. His confident and gentle demeanor was so important to me, too, as I am a big baby, when it comes to any medical procedures. Lolo! But, the first visit vibe I felt between us was perfect. And I knew then that he was indeed the doctor that could help me. He literally gave me the confidence and courage to proceed with a necessary knee surgery - Debridement and suture of my Patellar Tendon, etc. His proven surgical skills, along with his spirited and competent Englewood surgical team, delivered exactly what I needed to restore the use of my left leg and knee. And without any mishap and with hardly a scar. Thank you a thousand times, Dr. Salob! Thank you! "Sunglasses"

Dr. Salob treated my husband for a knee injury. We found him to be very pleasant and professional. His expertise, knowledge, thoroughness and dexterity were obvious. We would recommend him with great confidence.

I first used Dr. Salob several years ago after visiting Hospital of Special Surgery in NYC, where they recommended I must be Operated on immediately for a tumor on the knee. When I visited Dr. Salob for a second opinion, he took X-rays and suggested I go for physical therapy. After therapy I was just fine. I also visited him regarding hip surgery where eventually he suggested I see Dr. Shah, who operated on me for both hips that were done within 5 months. I am 81 yrs. old and feel great. Both Dr. Salob and Dr. Shah who by the way was one of the 10 best surgeons in NJ recommended by NJ Monthly Magazine. These are the best Drs. I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Yes there is a wait in the waiting room, but it is well worth waiting for the “Best of the Best”.

Please do not pay attention to any of the people that complained about the long wait. It is a very busy office because of the feedback of the Doctors that recommend him and the patients that only want to see him. He is a wonderful caring Doctor that doesn't recommend operating unless it's a necessity.

EXCELLENT Doctor

My daughter tore her ACL playing soccer last year. Could not believe that it needed surgery. Went to Dr. Salob who explained everything in great detail. Office was filled with other kids with similar injuries which made us feel so much better. She's back playing soccer like it never happened.

Too bad the office staff is unprofessional, impolite and unhelpful.

We were so worried when our son tore his labrum. Dr. Salob explained everything to us and that surgery was necessary. My son did really well after surgery and is now back playing lacrosse. Thank you!

I went with my mother to visit Dr. Salob for her knee problem. She had a massive amount of calcium deposit accumulation on the side of her knee cap which left her in unbearable pain. He was the third doctor that we visited, and in all honesty, I was wary. The first two doctors that we met were incredibly rude. They neither cared to explain to us what the problem was nor did they seem to even know or care about. Both were reluctant to answer my questions regarding my mother's condition or the causes and both reacted negatively as if my concern for my mom's knee was an annoyance. Additionally, both lacked gentleness is handling my mother's affected area. Needless to say, I was not happy. Visiting Dr. Salob was a huge relief. I hardly needed to ask questions, because he explained the condition himself! The questions I did ask were greeted with patience and amicability. I could not be happier about our visit. Though we did not intend for a long visit, he took the time to resolve my mother's condition, because quite frankly, the amount of calcium deposit was something quite unusual; it filled 12 vials. The fact that he took the time, understood that she was in an excruciating amount of pain, and handled her with warmth and gentleness is something that I am extremely thankful for. Also, he and his staff were very amiable to my sister and I, remembering her career and my major. In any case, I truly recommend anyone to visit him. He's a great person and a great doctor to boot!

Horrendous customer service. They do not return calls. They actually do not even pick up the phone when you call. Office is very very disorganized.

Had a torn meniscus which did not get better. Dr. Salob was able to remove the tear surgically and now I have no pain

Please ignore the negative reviews. Dr. Salob is professional, friendly and pro-active. He has done two surgeries on my very arthritic knee. Uses surgery as a last resort--tries every available non-surgical option first. Worth the long wait times, because this is an extremely busy office. I would highly recommend him to family and friends!

Dr Salob's bedside manner is just horrible. He is arrogant- thinks too much of himself to actually listen to what the patient is saying. He rushed into the office, and was backing out the door rushing to the next room after a minute. The office staff was pretty awful too - except for the x-ray tech who was very respectful and pleasant. I would never recommend Dr Salob or this practice.

Wait way too long ( minimum half hour / often an hour plus)and he will never return calls for follow up so to ask a question you must make an appointment and sit...Not worth it!

Would never go back. Took my 4 year old to him. Kept me waiting over one hour to be seen. Noone seemed to care or apologize. Staff totally indifferent. Everyone else in waiting room was waiting average of 45 mins. They just book tons of patients and bill for them and don't care about your wait time. U fortunate because dr seemed nice but will never return due to rude treatment and indifferent office staff
