Dr. Ravi Srinivas Swamy, MD

Dr. Swamy is a wonderful person and surgeon. I was nervous for my septoplasty and rhinoplasty, but he spent time talking with me and answered all my questions. Straightening my septum helped my sinuses and breathing, and now I have a pretty nose. :-) I've recommended him to several co-workers and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an ENT doctor/surgeon.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Swamy. He is kind and patient - NEVER have felt rushed. He makes sure to answer all of your questions and explain all of the options you have. He listens to your concerns and objectives, and tries to be as flexible as possible when it comes to taking insurance into account in the decision-making process. He knows what he's doing, and I have had really great results with his work with my nasal and throat issues. His hours are convenient and all of the staff are very friendly. I wish there was more I could do to recommend him to everyone. He's great!!!!

I am very happy to write about my experience with Dr. Swamy at Metropolitan ENT. I have never met such a thoughtful, compassionate physician who also possesses incredible surgical skill. I needed surgery on my nose as I was unable to breathe. i was also concerned about my appearance. Not only can I now breathe extremely well. I saw Dr. Swamy because I could not breath out of my nose very well and was also not happy with the appearance. I did a thorough search online and spoke with people I knew. He came with an excellent reputation and I can understand why. He spent time with me explaining several options and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Needless to say, the surgery and post=procedure went without a hitch! I can breathe better than ever and feel much more confident and happy about myself. I highly recommend Dr. Swamy without a doubt. He is the BEST!

Dr. Swamy is extremely knowledgeable, kind and considerate. He is a great communicator, makes eye contact with his patients and explains everything very well. He looks outside the box medically. The practice itself is run very professionally. The staff is courteous and personable. I highly recommend Dr. Swamy and his facility. I don't think you could do better!

Dr. Swamy is a smart, compassionate, funny, and incredibly talented doctor. I have been having breathing issues and sinus issues for quite some time. I saw two other ENT physicians. And never developed a repoire with either of them and did not feel comfortable allowing them to operate on me. After speaking with a co-worker who saw Dr. Swamy, I thought a 3rd opinion would be worth my time. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made! Dr. Swamy is a great physician who shows extreme care and interest in identifying and solving issues that affect his patients. He took time to discuss all my options and helped educate me in making the right decision to make my life better. He was the first doctor to give me multiple options and described the pros and cons of each one. He wanted me to think of all options before choosing the right decision for myself. He suggested trying the least invasive measures and work toward surgery when all other options are exhausted. He had been patient with me and helped me make the right choices that have significantly improved my life. I ended up having sinus surgery that reduced my frequency of sinus infections, improved my breathing, AND improved my appearance. I could not be happier and highly recommend Dr. Swamy to anyone who has ENT issues and may have lost faith in the quality of physicians in the DC area. I live in NW DC and glad that I made the decision to seek Dr. Swamy out and have him help me in the way that he did. After reading some of the comments below, I knew that I had to make an appointment to see Dr. Swamy. I was very impressed with his knowledge, candor, and humor. I have had several issues with breathing through my nose throughout the day and especially at night. Additionally, I was not happy with the way it looked. He first tried medical options that included nose sprays and rinses. He suggested surgery after ruling out allergies, and was able to make me breathe better. He was also able to address my issues with the appearance of my nose. He takes pride in his work, and I am grateful to have found him. Thank you so much!!

To sum it up in one word... Wow! I was incredibly impressed with Dr. Swamy, his expertise, breadth of clinical knowledge, and , most of all, compassion. I am lucky to have him as my doctor, and realize how great he is, after seeing other doctor for non-ENT-related issues. You will not be disappointed!

I had surgery with Dr. Swamy. Not only can I breathe easier and have less headaches, I look better too! He exceeded my expectations and was great at explaining his recommendations and tool great care of me postoperatively. You will not go wrong having him as your surgeon!

I was referred to Dr. Swamy by a friend who had seen him for sinus and allergy-related issues. He is extremely personable, sharp, and kind. He broke down my issues so that I could understand why I was not feeling well, and made a plan of action that made sense. He is a physician who strives to use principles of evidence based medicine. He also attempted to use all reasonable medical options before recommending surgery. Once we both agreed that surgery was the best option, I had surgery with him, and doing better than ever just one week after surgery! I will continue to see him for my allergies. I knew my allergies were bad and required therapy, but could commit to shots. He introduced me to therapy where I can do it at home with a drop under my tongue! I am so grateful to have met Dr. Swamy and sincerely appreciate his help. Anyone who sees him will not be disappointed!

Please read this review, I know it's long but Dr. Ravi Swamy changed my life for the better and I want to share my story. For six years I was constantly congested, never felt 100 percent, had the hardest time breathing when working out, always getting sick. My first surgery I had was with a doctor that lived close by to me, he told me my tonsils needed to be taken out which is why I got sick so often, so I had the surgery and I was alright for the next 2 years until I started to feel sick again and sore throats constantly and I thought to myself this isn't right I shouldn't feel this way, so I went to the same doctor to find out that I needed to fix my deviated septum which is why I had trouble breathing. So he performed the surgery and to my dismay NOTHING changed, not one thing. He even tested me for allergies and it came up negative. Finally I went back in 7 months ago complaining of the same issues, the sore throats and congestion. This doctor wanted to go into my nose again and perform surgery and believed taking my adnoids out would help, but I decided I should get a second opinion before I let this doctor do another surgery I read reviews on Dr. Swamy and was so impressed at all the great reviews that I booked an appointment. The first moment he say me he KNEW immediately what was wrong with me. He swore I had allergies but I informed him I had done the testing and it came up negative and he took the time to really sit down and listen to everything that was bothering me. Not once did I think he was belittling the situation and for that I am greatful. He asked me if I would do another allergy testing and I decided to do, and to my surprise I WAS ALLERGIC TO 8 DIFFERENT THINGS, and for that other doctor to miss it I have no idea how! From that point on he walked me through the last surgery I would have to perform for me to breath better, get my allergies under control and to finally not feel so sick all the time. Just 3 weeks ago I went into surgery that Dr. Swamy performed and after 1 week I was looking great and COULD FINALLY SMELL AND WAKE UP NOT FEELING SO SICK! I am still waiting for the bruising to go down but I am so thankful to have found him. He is an absolutely amazing doctor and I would recommend him 100 percent!!! He changed my life for the better and I will forever be thankful for him.

I have a chronic condition where I have to clear my throat about a thousand times a day. It appears to be communicable, and now those around me are having the same problem. Dr. Swami was the first doctor who seemed genuinely interested in finding out what the problem was, and curing it.

I went to Metropolitan ENT after my regular ENT did not even try to dianose my problem (it was the PA which you ALWAYS saw, never the doctor). I was greatly impressed with the entire practice - everyone was SO nice and took their time - and the have all the equipment imagineable. Dr. Swamy took a lot of time with me, giving me options, and giving me time to think through them. And the one thing I really took note of - he would always touch me on the shoulder - that extra caring touch. The assistant was great too, holding my hand when I was afraid. Only reason I have given three stars to the accuracy in dianosing is because I am still under treatment, so do not know, if it will work. But, you can bet, they are my ENT's from now on!
