Open, friendly, knowledgeable, accessible. Obvious expertise in retina issues and generous with practical advice on overall eye care. She solved a retinal tear problem in one visit and with no recurrence in five years.

Having debt with retina problems since I was 18 years old, I have seen a large variety of retina specialists. Dr. Katira was confident, yet not egotistical, and quickly put me at ease. She moved into treatment as quickly as diagnosis. I highly recommend her for your retina needs.

The doctor and staff were all wonderful. They were patient with their patient (me), and explained everything. Turns out I had a medical emergency w/o knowing it. Great eye Doctor. Dr. Katira, MD is treating me for “Diabetic Retinopathy.” My first visit, my eyesight was in bad shape. I thought I am going blind. However, Dr. Katira gave me encouragement and told me not to discourage she will help me to restore my vision if I fully cooperate to follow her advice. She cannot do anything alone just giving me eye injections. First of all, I should keep control on my blood glucose levels. And my every visit she will enthusiastically inquire about it. Her friendly advice, pleasant manners and eye treatment, positive encouragement improved my eyesight. When I moved to Virginia from Maryland, I am glad and feel lucky that I went to her for my Diabetic Retinopathy treatment. God bless her.
