Dr. Rhonda Lynn Pena, MD

I went to her with concerns of breast cancer and family history with my Mother and her sister. She tells me Breast Cancer is not hereditary and if it was, I would have been younger and have gotten it. Later I get genetic testing done and guess what I have a mutation for breast cancer. She was so dismissive and rude . A year later I go her associate and he asks me why I haven't had genetic testing done yet due to my family history. Never went back to her!!

Very informative doctor

Dr. requires patients to remove shoes and wear previously-worn slippers (yuck). A 60-inch TV in the tiny reception area blares a toxic talk show. Receptionist is so vitriolic, it is surreal. Dr. aggressively pushes botox & fillers to patients who are simply seeking medical care. Avoid.

Dr. Pena took care of me in the hospital and probably saved my life. She took care of me even though my problem was in my colon. She made sure she saw me weekly when released from hospital, when visiting nurses could not be obtained. She arranged for immediate colonoscopy when the endoscopy center wanted to delay the test. She also made followup phone calls to see how I was. I would recommend this physician to anyone needing an ob/gyn, as I found her one of the most caring physicians that I have met..

I research EVERYTHING thoroughly... please know that before you read on. Dr. Pena met me very early on (about 8 weeks into my pregnancy), and from our first consult, I knew she was the OB doc I had searched high and low for -- she was IT! I had an immediate level of comfort with her and knew that she could guide me through the uncertainty that comes with each trimester. I always approached each "check in" with nervous anticipation, but she always quieted my fears with her extensive knowledge, and her easily understood explanation of what was happening always put me at ease. She even went out of her way to be there for my delivery (when it was not her shift) and gave incredible care to my newborn son. She is an absolute professional, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to any woman seeking OB/GYN care.

I am so happy that I chose Dr Pena as my doctor for my first pregnancy. I was new to the area and unfamiliar with any doctors in the area. After some online research I can across Dr Pena and knew she would be perfect. She was so easy to talk to, professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel so comfortable. She guided me through my whole pregnancy, and eventually delivered my son on May 22nd. I'm so thankful for all she did for myself and my family.

Dr. Pena was my back up doctor and I met her a couple of times before I was due to deliver. Well I ended up going in Christmas day and was so pleased to see her there. She is very professional, compassionate, and just an all around wonderful person. She addressed my concerns, broke down my anxieties and was a great cheerleader. I moved about 20 miles further from her office but decided to stay with her. Would recommend to anyone!

my name is merry, I was transferred to her from york hospital because of some of their services I did not like when I was in my last term of pregnancy. Dr Pena is so nice and so professional, I had my first baby and worried of natural birth and almost willing to have C section, but she was so nice to explain me why It was not first choice and made me relaxed and ready to have my baby naturally and finally I made it. she is a really caring doctor. I will go back If I am having my second baby. That was so happy to switch to her.

Dr Pena, was professional and caring all through my time as her patient. the delivered my beautiful baby girl and was so supportive during my labour. She was understanding, supported me through the delivery ..... It was a joy to have her as my doctor. I think I want her to deliver my next baby ...... whenever that is.

I would recommend Dr. Pena to anyone in need of an OB/GYN. She is fabulous. Very thorough when addressing concerns, and she is very professional. She sat in my L/D room with me for the majority of my L/D, even when she wasn't needed. She was great to my family, and treated me with such kindness. My pregnancy and delivery of my child were great experiences, and all of that can be attributed to Dr. Pena! I'm very sorry to hear that she left Clearfield, but I hope she's moving on to bigger and better experiences!

I would recommend Dr. Pena to every woman seeking a gynocologist.She is very professional. She shows extreme kindness and compassion. I also commend her on her bedside manner;she treated me with respect and she truly cared about my well being.

I could not ask for a more compassionate doctor then Dr. Pena!! She came into my life as my physician after 10 long years of basically, agony! I had seen 2 prior physician before transferring to her, and I can honestly say, I had given up hope that I would be this way the rest of my life!! You see, after having my youngest son over 10 years ago, I began having heavy bleeding, pelvic pain and discomfort, and uncontrollable mood swings. I had been through medicine, numerous surgeries, all that may have lasted a short time, for all of it to only come back shortly there after. My relationship was in jeopardy with my partner of 12 years due to all of these problems. I was pretty much given the choice of having a hysterectomy at the age of 26 or to deal with it from one of the other physicians. At that point in my life, I wasn't ready to cave in and believe this was my only option, because I was going through college for the first time. When I went back to college for a second time, things were so hormonally out of control, I began to have anxiety attacks, I just felt like I was coming apart at the seams! I was approached by one of my professors and they recommended that I transferred to Dr. Pena because she had heard very good things about her. I was willing to try anything at this point!! I transferred and got an appointment quickly. My partner and I went to the appointment and were very pleased with Dr. Pena. She gave us both hope that there was other options besides a hysterectomy and I was elated!! She got right to work and within a few weeks time, I went with a Mirena insertion. For all of you that don't know what that is, its a IUD. Surprisingly, it worked for quite sometime, but then it started to not work as effectively as we liked. Immediately Dr. Pena offered to do an Endometrial Ablation. She said I was the perfect candidate and I never doubted her opinions, so we agreed for it to be done. Prior to having the procedure done, I had been having terrible pelvic pain that was radiating into my hips and into my thighs. Now for someone like me that works 12 hour shifts, and yes I am one of the fortunate ones, worked along side Dr. Pena on the Maternity Unit as a registered nurse, the pain was almost unbearable at times. Since having the ablation done, I have been pain free, no heavy bleeding, and I have actually lost a few pounds!! I highly recommend Dr. Pena, because she cared about me as a patient, I wasn't just another name on the schedule for the day. If I ever had a problem, question, concern, I would call into the office and she personally would speak to me on the phone. It was normal for her to call you after a procedure the following day, just to see how you were feeling and I can't ever say another doctor has done that for me. She not only changed my life by helping me with this problem, she saved my relationship, my family, my self being. I don't know what I would have done had so not came into my life as my doctor!! Also another benefit I had with Dr. Pena is that I had mentioned earlier that I also worked along side her on the Maternity Unit, I got to see her first hand with her labor patients and every time I worked with her she amazed me!!! As I said, the most amazing doctor I have ever met!!!

By Far Doctor Pena is one of the best doctors I have ever met with in all of my 42 years..she is caring, considerate ..she treats each of her patients as if they are her only patient .. you aren't just a name on a sheet of paper .. she honestly cares about your health ..Shes the type of doctor that makes you sit up and take notice of your health. I wish all doctors could be more like Doctor Pena.

I went to see Dr. Pena when I became pregnant for the first time. I was thrilled as I had been trying for almost a year to become pregnant. Unfortunately, I lost my pregnancy at about 8 weeks. I was crushed and felt totally defeated. Dr. Pena treated me with more caring, understanding, and compassion than I could have ever expected. She treated me physically and restored my confidence emotionally. I was amazed when only 3 months later after my follow-up, I was pregnant again. I was understandably nervous, but the pregnancy went well and Dr. Pena delivered my baby boy for me in October. The entire experience was amazing from the very beginning. She really listened to what I had to say at my appointments and I knew that if I called with a concern I would be responded to promptly. I highly recommend Dr. Pena not only for her outstanding credentials and medical ability but also for her bedside manner. It is rare to find such a doctor.

For my first two babies I had a wonderful doctor from Clearfield. When I had my third he had brought Dr. Pena to help with the work load. I was a bit nervous seeing a new doctor along with my regular doctor. She induced my labor. Which was a first for me. My other two had come on their own. I was very very nervous. And I can not say enough about Dr. Pena. I also was gestationaly diabetic with my last baby. She was very helpful with eating tips. And ways to keep my sugar levels normal. When I went in to be induced she was absolutely amazing. I felt very comfortable with her. My older children were even made to feel very much a part of my visits with her. I would go to her again for any feminine issue and pregnancy again!

Dr Rhonda Pena is a very good doctor! This area is lucky to have a obgyn like Dr Pena practice here. Through my whole delivery Dr Pena was wonderful and even after delivery when i had a slight complication , Dr Pena was there till early a.m just to make sure everything was ok. I have never had a Dr that was so concerned and caring with thier patients. I just hope Dr Pena stays in this area for many years to come.

I am fully confident in Dr. Pena's care. She is thorough, without needless testing. She is so very personable in her bedside manner. She has spent time in listening to my questions, concerns and was extremely patient in coming to a solution to a problem (even as I waffled back and forth about surgery.) She was never demeaning or forceful with my decisions, but always supportive. I did end up having surgery. She did a great job and even called me the day I went home after surgery. Dr. Pena is an excellent dr. I am more than satisfied with her care.

My experience with Dr.Pena and her office was wonderful.I started going there when I became pregnant and they were great, I got right in and every time I went into the office I barely got sat down in the waiting room before my name was called. I would and have recommended Dr.Pena to friends and co-workers. I hope that everyone who goes into this office has as wonderful of an experience as my husband and I had! The staff is courteous and always smiling, which is nice when you walk into a Dr's office. Also my experience actually delivering my daughter was great, I was extremely nervous (this was my first child) but the nurses were great they helped me through every moment even when I got a little irritable they kept on smiling!! I also appreciated the help breastfeeding provided by the nursing staff this was something that was very important to me and they were great, helping me with any questions I had. I overall had a wonderful experience and am looking forward to having a second baby with the help and support of Dr.Pena, her staff and the maternity department at the Clearfied Hospital.

I have been seeing her since I found out I was pregnant. Shes has really been there for me, with just moving up here a year ago I was "ify" about the Dr.s in the area. I am very happy that I went to that office and got her as my Dr. She seems like she would go above and beyond for her patients. I am alittle nervous about labor but I am sure she will be right there to keep me assured that everything will be ok. She is also very awsome with my two year old daughter when she has to come to my appointments with me. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Pena is a wonderful obgyn. She delivered my son and was very caring and answered any of my concerns I had during the labor and delivery process. Also when seen in her clinic I never had to wait very long to be seen. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
