Dr. Richard Paul Frechette, MD

I have been a patient of dr frechette for a long time. All I can say he his a top notch doctor. He treats you like a person not a number. He listens to your problems and concerns and discusses your options. He is the only doctor I would trust with my life. If your looking for an all around great doc look no further. Dr Frechette is great, I'd give him five starts, he listens, explains and is generally affable. The front office is another matter....try calling, and you IMMEDIATELY get put ON HOLD. I've given up and will be looking for another provider. What good is the doc if you can't get through to get an appointment. I've suggested they use voice mail and call back if they're too busy to take incoming calls, but they don't listen......

You almost took my life years back when you told me "I was just a hysterical miscarrying mother ! Had me sign paper work before I was fully out of anesthesia, I have not ever forgot .

This physician has been no less than superb. He is patient and understanding and has excellent medical skills and insight. I am forever grateful to him for his concerned care and thoroughness.

Very knowledgeable and very kind. I haven't ever been interrupted by him. Though he can be abrupt with responses, if you were to just ask him to clarify then he would explain. I don't feel rushed during my times with him but that may be because I get to the point like he tends to. Good staff and always punctual.

I have been seeing Dr. Frechette for a little over 2 years now, and he is the best doctor that I have encountered. I have seen numerous doctors in 5 different states, including many specialists, and none of them compare to him. There have been several occasions where he has either gone back to the office, or stayed late to see me. I swear he is the only doctor that LISTENS to me, and on top of that, I'm treated as a human (which sadly doesn't happen that often when you deal with doctors). Out of the 30+ GP/Specialists I have seen, he is the ONLY one that seems legitimately concerned with my well being, which means alot to me. I told my husband to try him out instead of the other doctor he had been seeing for 5 years, and on the first visit with him, he decided to stick with Dr. Frechette as well. He is very accurate with his diagnosis, and with his prescriptions. The last 3 "specialists" I have seen recently couldn't diagnose me properly, but Frechette has been, and stis still proactively on top of things by getting tests done and ruling conditions out. I do not plan to see any other Doctor aside from him, so please don't retire!!

My Wife and I have both enjoyed the expertise of Dr. Frechette for the past six years. We are very happy with him and highly recommend him as a GP. He has the experience to accurately access your condition quickly without wasting your time. He is a fantastic doctor.

Dr. Frechette has been my primary care doc for almost 10 years. I have always found him to be thorough and caring. The one time I needed surgical care he got me an appointment the same day with a specialist. Whenever I've asked him a question, he has gone into as much detail as I wish to know, and he has a huge depth of medical knowledge to share -- if you want to engage his intellect. I have never felt like he wanted to rush through an appointment, though like most busy docs he doesn't suffer fools lightly.

I just wanted to comment on Dr. Frechette when he was a resident at St. Clares Hospital in New York. I was a young girl in trouble and he showed compassion to me and above and beyond caring in trying to help me. I haven't seen Dr. Frechette in 26 years, but I will never forget him. I wanted him to know that.

Frechette is in the upper 10% of diagnosticians. Some people consider him abrupt but all you need to do is ask specific questions to get him to reveal his reasoning and alternative diagnoses. His accuracy rate is really quite high and he is quick to suggest specialists when they are needed. This physician has grown in knowledge and skill over the past 20 years I have known him. He is up to date.

Dr Frechette is professional. He may appear abrupt; however, he is not rude. I suspect after many years of being a doctor he likes to cut through the nonsense. Acceptable behavior.

I agree with the other person. He is very negative and NEVER LISTENS at all. He literally cuts me off mid-sentence when I am trying to tell him something very important about my condition. Did the same to my husband as well before he got a new Primary Care Provider. Whenever I leave his office I say to my husband, that guy is a real creep, or a real jerk. Anyone have suggestions for a better doctor that actually listens or seems to care in the Peterborough area please?? I'm really tired of dealing with this creepy doctor. It's as if he takes pleasure in interrupting you or talking over you (he smiles as he does it - creepy!). Definitely don't bring your children here. Don't know what else to say except, avoid this guy. You know what the 'nickname' is for Richard, that suits him perfectly.

This guy has unfortunately been my Primary Care Provider for almost my entire adult life - at least 15 years. He does things like: I will tell him that "When I take a really hot shower the pain goes down, so I do that almost every day..." He assumes (always the worst) that I meant I only shower every so often, not that I crank it to burning hot every so often, he laughs out loud at me (and several of my relatives who have stopped going there including two grandmothers) and is impossible to explain, 'just meant only take HOT showers..' cuts you off and laughs at you. He's really rude, and has dangerously mis-diagnosed me and someone I care very much for more than once(!), he never REMEMBERS what is going on with you, never seems to care at all, never remembers to do the follow-up that he promised he would, always have to remind him, sometimes have to prod him for months to do the tests the specialists said I had to have every six months. He's a real whiney jerk if you want my honest opinion. And his staff is incredibly snooty, I never pay a visit without getting some bizzarre or downright nasty remark from a nurse (always blows my mind, yet I still go there!! Not anymore hopefully...) I need to do what my friends and relatives have done and never go back. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone unless you really want to add additional pain and suffering to your life! =)
