He’s my favorite doctor!! At first he was a little intimidating but he has to be in my opinion. He’s right to the point, honest, concerned and he has helped me so much!! I have shots and he try’s his best to be easy as much as he can. I have so much RESPECT for him!! My advice is, give him a chance, prove yourself by being honest. He will help you if your willing to help yourself. Respect this Doctor he deserves it!! His responsibility, career is always on the line and he takes it very seriously!!! I use to drive over an hour because he’s the best! Now it’s less than 30 minutes. I hope this helps someone.

I read Dr. Sullivan’s notes about my appointment & not to much is accurate. I wish I would of recorded my visit. So after my initial complaint on here, I want to set the record straight!! He said I asked for something for pain & I NEVER ONCE asked him for ANYTHING!! I told him the PT & gabepentin wasn’t working & I just wanted the pain to stop. He said he had told me I wasn’t a candidate for pain meds on my 1st visit... no he did not and I NEVER asked for or said anything about pain meds. He lied about that my crying stopped once he “yelled” he wasn’t giving me any pain meds which I DIDNT ASK FOR!! & said I shook my head ok. NO I DIDN’T!! I was in tears the entire time I was in his office & upon leaving the building. I just wanted him to go away at that point because of how he was treating me & how upset he had made me from the time he walked in the door. He had a major attitude toward me & has emotionally scarred me with all doctors. He’s made me feel like, if I say I’m in pain or something is wrong, then all doctors will look at me & treat me like a drug seeker or something & that I’m not worth helping. If the medical board would read all his negative reviews then maybe they’d see something is wrong with this man. I read a comment where someone thinks that negative reviews are coming from people who are wanting opioids... well I’d of been ok with anything besides an opioid if it made my pain stop. We all aren’t drug addicts!! Some of us just want to lead a somewhat normal life again. So, please read his notes after your visit because chances are, he’s telling a totally different story than what happened on your visit. We all can’t be liars. FYI, I have NEVER complained against anyone but his behavior was so outrageous & unacceptable that I don’t want anyone to ever be made to feel like I do.

Walked out while I was talking, actually made me cry because of the way he spoke to me. He treated me like I was beneath him. It was my 2nd visit & he flat out acted like I was a drug addict when I told him PT & gabepentin wasn’t working. He informed me that he couldn’t help me. I was speechless & left in a room crying. Stay away from this so called doctor

Sullivan must be have his friends come here and write good reviews. He is only in it for the money. He should not be practicing medicine. If it were up to me, he would never see another injured or sick person again.

Dr Sullivan has no bed side Manor and absolutely no concerns for his patients! He is always in a rush and has no alternative to his opinion!! Find another Dr before you get stuck with him!

I believe one individual is writing multiple negative reviews concerning this Dr. I have been under the care of Dr. Sullivan for approx three years, and he has been compassionate , knowledgeable, and listens to my concerns/questions. Unfortunately, when it comes to pain patients, many get angry with their physician when not given what they are after- I believe the person responsible for these negative comments has an axe to grind...

Dr. Robert has always been very interested with my complaints and has been a true gentleman., would recommend him to anyone who has real problems not just looking for drugs. Always very understanding, takes much time in office with me and very under standing .Best Doctor in town. Lou C.

I don’t understand the negative comments in some of the reviews shown here about Dr. Sullivan. That isn’t the description I would give based on my experiences. I have seen him twice now, 5 months apart, for epidural shots in my lower back. He was excellent and helped me get relief from the pain that I have because of spinal stenosis and inflammation. He is gentle and caring when he gives the shots. I highly recommend him. His nursing staff is excellent as well. I felt their concern for my comfort following my procedure. They are an excellent complement to his medical services. I hope others who have good experiences will write a review to share their experiences.

I had a wonderful appointment today with Dr. Sullivan. He cared about my issues and listened to all my sport injuries before performing epidural shot in my back. He recommended certain options to continue with my healing.

He puts you on meds, then refuses to try any changes. You can never get his office staff to return phone calls the same week, much less the same day! The office manager is never in! What happened to "practicing medicine" and being compassionate? I have never been to a physician that can't be bothered to listen to you and is always walking out the door while you are speaking with him. It is very distracting and makes you lose your train of thought, not to mention distrpectful. After putting me on meds for several years, he walks in and is going to discontinue them, basically cold turkey. All at once! It is dangerous and makes it difficult on the patient. It is time to start tapering them since I am improving, but not cold turkey! He treated me like a dog! Gave me no input. That is not what he said he would do when we started down this path! Go somewhere else if you want someone compassionate that considers you, the patient, to be part of the treatment plan!

This man is so unfriendly. He has a way of making you feel as if you are making a drug deal. Almost like you are trash and he is your only hope. No matter what amount of meds you are on its way to much. Even though a very good and well known doctor put you on that amount of meds. You as a patient don't know what you are talking about. Im trying to get into another chronic pain clinic. They told me at this other clinic that they have several of sullivans former patients and that they have this same story over and over.

This man was assigned to me after my regular Doctor relocated. On our second appointment he got up and left and when he returned said, " I googled your disease and at least now I know what it is." He change my prescription for the ONLY drug that allowed me to function and then had nothing but P.A.'s see me for a year. When he Finally saw me, I wasn't able to talk due to my disease progressing irreversibly to the point of strangling on my own ribcage. When I complained that he had missed every appointment that I had made specifically with him for a year. He said, Well maybe you should go somewhere else, followed by a certified letter telling me exactly that. I started going to Emory Spine Surgeons in Atlanta and when I played them the recorded office visits with Sullivan, they were completely shocked.

I have been under the care of a pain management doctor for almost 20 years. I moved down to NC and had the misfortune of Having Dr Sullivan as my doctor. Unfortunately he was the only doctor that accepted my insurance. Over the course of 2 years I saw him 3 times as he delegated all of the other visits to a PA. His understanding of Chronic pain is questionable and his ability to effectively manage a patients chronic pain is non-existent. My suggestion,, Find another Doctor

This so called doctor made me feel lower than dirt . He was cold and arrogant. He talked to me like I was only there to get drugs. I felt so belittled! He was so hateful that I am looking for another doctor. Im sure it would not do any good to complain because they will not believe you over a doctor. He should find another job. Such a JERK!!!!!

I was highly dissatisfied. He treated ma like a crackhead off the street. So I have been living in constant pain for the last 2 1/2 years.... horrible!

Dr. Sullivan performed a procedure on me and did it wrong. He hit a nerve in my knee which has caused me tremendous pain in my knee and has changed my lifestyle tremendously. He wanted to do a second procedure on me that would alleviate my pain and I cancelled the appointment. I felt if you couldn't get it right the first time you are certainly not get a second chance to destroy my health. I asked to be moved to a different practice and the office manager did that, but she sent me to a doctor who is even worse. I'm through with Southeast Pain Management. They are a terrible practice.

I have had pain shots from several other physicians but no one has been able to "hit the mark" better than Dr. Sullivan. He is absolutely gifted at finding the perfect spot when it comes to your pain. The office personnel is very good at making you feel at ease about your pain medication use as well. All and all, it's a good experience for the person who is genuinely in pain.

Smug, condensing, horrible table side manners. No compassion for someone in legitimate pain. Didn't even bother to look at my medical records...just glanced over them and dismissed everything my previous dr has prescribed me. He spent a total of 5 mins and came to the conclusion that I needed surgery. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Horrible dr!!

In less than 5 minutes, he can make you feel like your begging for pills and your a druggie. He's probably the worst doctor I have ever been to in my entire life. I can't believe how insignificant he made me feel!!! So smug. While your talking, he's walking out the door, obviously to something more important.
