I had a herniated disc at L4-L5. After a few visits to my family Dr I called Orthopedic Associates and got in the next day. Went to Dr Vraney and he ordered an MRI. Results were herniated disc L4-L5 with surgery to fix it and it was a huge success! I highly recommend Dr Vrany. He listened to me & I listened to him. You get to the point and he gets to the point. Gave me my life back. 5 stars for Doc and all the staff!

First time seeing Dr Vraney, I always want a Dr. to be honest and open with me ,But on a first visit when one is just arrogant and rude . I was in pain and needed advice not a lecture that made no sense to me .

Fast and efficient

Dr Varney did back surgery on me in 2015 he sent me a copy of exactly what he would do , then did an entirely different type of surgery let me lay in hospital did not order pain medication for me and I was left wondering what was going on he didn’t come back and when I went in for my check up he wouldn’t even see me he had his nurse see me I’ve never seen him again , I wouldn’t recommend him at all. I hope this keeps anyone else from going thru what I did.

I’ve been dealing with an aching back, numbness, etc for many years...at first Dr. Vraney treated me conservatively with therapy, injections, meds...eventually I needed a decompression and fusion at L4-5. Throughout the process, Dr. Vraney explained everything to me! My outcome has been a blessing, I will tell all I know that he is a terrific spine surgeon.

Dr. Vraney is a great surgeon! Very knowledgeable and to the point. I’m currently 12 months out and I’ve never felt better! I had a lateral surgery (XLIF) to alleviate my back pain and leg pain. I’m baffled by the negative comments I read...all I can think is that folks still have pain and so they’re upset. Or they have very thin skin and anything will set them off. I would highly recommend Dr. Vraney!

unfortunately, I was hoping to get help by multiple visits to this doctor - ROBERT T. VRANEY .as I get a herniated disk in lower back - bulge disc. MY situation went worse to the extent that I've got constant numbness, tingling, and weakness in my legs and then arms and other problems. Whenever I visit him, I don't feel concern or responsiveness, and he doesn't give the time to let you talk or listens to you. I told him about my numbness in legs, he says this is another issue has nothing to do with the lower back. How is this and all people have had this issue find the same symptoms (numbness) if you read on the internet you will find that, and my aunt has the same thing. Finally I asked him to provide me an MRI test. He refused! I called his office he says go to your primary doctor ! why all of these procedures to get an mri while i have an urgent situation!!!

It's been 2 1/2 years since Dr. Vraney did my back surgery. I just can't thank him enough for giving me back my life. He truly did an amazing job. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I can't say enough about the care I received before and after my surgery. The doctor and staff were all kind and helpful. I would recommend this surgeon!

Dr Vraney was great until I had complications after my surgery. He did fix the the terrible pain I was in for the the last 10 years but the surgery created a whole new pain that was just as bad. His solution was for me to has another surgery in 6 months once I was healed from this one. He couldn't really explain what was wrong or how it happened. I didn't want to have another surgery without an explication. He felt like like I didn't trust him and maybe I should find another surgeon.

I am very happy with the care I received from Dr. Vraney and the good folks at Orthopaedic Associates in Evansville. Dr Vraney was very professional and honest about my care before and after surgery. He communicated and discussed possible outcomes and how they would deal with each one. I wish all my doctors were this thorough.

Dr. Vraney did a great job taking his time to explain to me what my options were so that I could feel comfortable in my decision.

He discovered that I wasn't an ideal (or cookie cutter) candidate for surgery and thus, let me walk out of his office in significant and chronic pain and tears. Had to return to my PCP for continued care.

I had suffered for 5 months with a herniated disc on my sciatic nerve. Dr. Vraney's fantastic physicians assistant, Linda, assessed the complaint and set an appointment for me to meet with Dr. Vraney. Within a month I had surgery and total relief with a very small incision. Orthopaedic Associates and Dr. Vraney ROCK!

I would recommend Dr Vraney to anyone. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained in detail what his plans were for me. I had back surgery in 2014 and as soon as I had it the pain was gone. His staff was very nice and understanding!

This man should not be a doctor, especially if he claims to have spinal experience. Saw him last year, he was brusque, didn't listen to me, seemed like he was just too busy. He ordered X-rays, didn't see anything, sent me to physical therapy which was of no help whatsoever. When I made him aware that the only relief I'd gotten was from a change in NSAIDS,he remarked that he didn't usually recommend the one I'd been taking previously. Really? Why didn't you tell me that? Was it because you didn't look at my medication list. After seeing a neurosurgeon, I had a myelogram that revealed several areas of stenosis plus other issues. He is incompetent, a real malpractice case waiting to happen. I feel when he thinks something is too complicated for his experience, he blows off the patient. By the way, his diagnosis was degenerative scoliosis. Why is he still allowed to practice?
