Dr. Robert Wood Byrd, MD

Dr. Byrd is a great doctor. I was his patient for five years. I have had 10 back surgeries and left with a lot of pain and some neuropathy. Dr. Byrd is compassionate and understands pain. I always felt he had my best interest in mind. I would trust this man with my life. 20 years in pain management and Doc Byrd is the best. Wish we lived closer to his practice. We are now in Western Kentucky and the choices leave a lot to be desired.

He does not seem to want to take time to properly diagnose. Just there for the money.

does urinalysis every visit i have lab bills from urinalysis over five thousand dollars because insurance company will only pay for the 2 to 3 annually urinalysis. Always in a hurry acts as if he doesn't care. Does what he can to keep you in maximum pain by not prescribing the right or correct dosage of medication. Doesn't teach or push rehabilitation. Everything I thought this doctor should be I found to be totally opposite. The system is changing, but he could work on his PROFESSIONALISM a whole lot more and not announce out loud in patient waiting area what your diagnosis is.

Polite, communicative staff who actually relay messages. Minimal waiting time. Networks well with peers. Supportive but on the quiet side. Speak up because he isn't a mind reader.
