dr Roger Olsson has not been a good dr. his proffessionalism lacked, he is severly overworked, cannot spent proper time with a patient to get any diagnosis. I had brionchitis and pneomonia back to back for almost 2 years. He said he didn't know why... we had a leaky roof, he knew but I had no idea the repercusions. I was very sick, was on antibiotics of various types trying to find one that would work for me. He refused to allow me allergy testing, so I went to an allergist on my own. I am allergic to many things. Too bad I had to prove it to him thru my testing that he was wrong, once i had allergy meds, i started respononding. A couple of months after that, I quickly dropped 50 lbs without trying, I got very shakey, felt like i was running a jackhammer, of course i went to see dr olsson... he at almost every dr. visit tell me, well I don't know what might be wrong today, I can't find anything wrong with you... as tho he were telling me that i was one of those women who make things up just to see their dr. Oh ya i lost 50 lbs just so i could look into his eyes, give me a break... if i was sick, where should I go? I thought I should go to a dr. I had known dr olsson for many many years as I had cared for his children in my daycare. I have Graves disease... and I had to do the reasearch to find what was wrong with me. For weeks, I had spent everyday at the library using their medical reference books, and checked out books as fast as I could read them. When I got to the section of the thyroid and read the symtoms, I knew that had to be what was wrong as I had almost every symptom. I made another appointment with dr olsson, and when I told him of my finds, he dismissed them and said no I didn't have thyroid problems, and tried to dismiss me. So I told him, unless he was prepared to spend the whole might with me in the office arguing with me, he better run the whole thyroid panel on me now and get accurate readings on my blood testings. He finally caved in and then told me it would take 3 days to get the results. I said thats fine, at least I would have definative answers. He called me not 3 days later, but the very next morning. He said he had bad news for me. He said I had what was known as Graves disease of the thyroid and pituitary gland... DUH.. I did the research, I knew I had to have something like that. He asked what pharmacy I wanted to use, I gave him the number and he said to go pick up the prescription. Well when I arrived to pick up the prescription the pharmasist asked if I had taken this or other medications for my high blood pressure. I informed the pharmasist that I did not have high blood pressure, told him to keep that medication and i'd deal with the dr myself. I had called the office 3 times to speak with dr Olsson, each time i was told he was on rounds at the hospital. 10 hours after going to the pharmasist, dr olsson finally called me back, I told him what happened at the pharmacy and he then said to me" I am your dr. you do whatever I tell you to do, and you take whatever prescriptions I prescribe for you" I informed him that even tho I had known him for more than 10 years, he had done too little listening to me to treat me as a patient should be treated. If he had been a good dr, perhaps he should have said I don't know, but you research as well as I will and together we will figure it out, instead of treating me like I was some bored woman with nothing to do but self invent medical problems to take up his sweet time. Instead, the office triple books the dr for every 15 minutes to take each patient or their insurance company for everything they can get so they can reap the profits and the patients are lucky to get 5 min with the dr. and what do you get for your time? 30 minutes wait past your appointment time and just a measily 5 min. with a dr who is run ragged and could care even less if you live or die, now that is pathetic. They are proffessional rip-off artists. And who governs them to make sure they are giving quality care to their patients that they deserve and pay for? No one, they cover for each other as they fill their pockets. I told dr olsson that not only would I not do what he ordered me to, I also would not take the medication he prescribed for hypertension (high blood pressure) and I would never ever see him again as a dr. and I was firing him for all the years I had trusted him and gave him the benefit of doubt and kept trusting he was going to help me medically. Today I am disabled. I have Graves disease, arthritis in my knees and back, I have fibromyalgia, COPD, athsma, now high blood pressure. I have been to many drs. most have not listened after reading thru my medical records from Edmods Family Medice and Dr Olsson's notes in my medical reports I haven't worked since 2001, I can't stand or walk more than a few minutes without hurting so badly or falling from losing my balance. I have fallen neumerous times. I can't stand long enough to cook meals and I certainly can't work anymore, and I am now only 51. I can't even get social security disability because they claim I waited too long to file. Well I did in a way. I thought every time I refiled that they'd go back to the date i originally filed, but they don't. I am dependant on the state to help me financially. And dr olsson wouldn't help me with that either. I say run as fast as you can from Edmonds family medicine, all they want is the money money money... please go find a dr who has more compassion and is interested in being a good dr. You want a dr who will care for your needs, listen to you and make every effort to be the best dr he or she can be.... do not walk, run from there as fast as you can if you value your life.
