Dr. Ryan Glenn Miyamoto, MD

Dr Miyamoto has been my doctor for several years and I am so pleased with his care. The staff are wonderful and I highly recommend him.

I was scared of having this surgery but dr was thorough and answered all my questions. Follow-up visits were also helpful. I would go to him again.

would not recommend, only wants t do surgeries. after the surgery, medical care is suboptimal. also,not responsive to patient's complaints,

I was referred to Dr Miyamoto by my primary ortho, as he doesn't do arthroscopic hip surgeries. The first time I saw Dr Miyamoto, he was professional and courteous. He did my surgery in August and wrote a detailed report about what he did during the surgery. The 5 stars are for him, NOT the office staff. Among other issues, the last appointment I had I waited for almost an hour and a half. Not cool.

Your website is impressive; to a point of wonder of authenticity. Age of doctor, 39 years old, experience so limited, I would be adding to your experience during your surgery!!l

Dr. Miyamoto was very professional and prepared for my situation when I arrived. He had looked at all my xrays and MRI andexplained what my choices were. He told me what to expect for recovery and answered all my questions very thoroughly in the office and by email. He is very positive and encouraging throughout the process.

Dr. Miami to is beyond what I expected! Many visits to him and he can nail anything and be 100% correct! He's got such a great personality, and wonderful bedside manners! I highly recommend him to anybody because he's such a great caring guy!!

I saw Dr. Miyamoto for a knee injury from a skiing accident. I had knee pain for weeks and was told by another doctor that I needed a CT Scan, etc. Before I decided to go the costly route I decided to get another opinion from Dr. Miyamoto. I needed to be seen quickly because I had an upcoming business trip. He was able to fit me in in a very short time frame and ended up giving me a cortisone shot. I barely felt the shot as it was administered and afterward my knee pain was gone. It's been two months and still no pain. I would definitely go see Dr. Miyamoto again. Great experience!

I slipped on the ice and landed square on my knee. I didnâ??t know it at the time, but I ended up with an ACL avulsion fracture (where my ligament and a piece of my bone separated from the rest of the bone in my knee). I was in extreme pain and literally could not walk. I called Dr. Miyamotoâ??s office and his surgical scheduler, Renee, managed to somehow fit me into see the doctor the next day. Dr. Miyamoto explained everything to me and recommended arthroscopic ACL reconstruction to repair my left knee. Renee was able to schedule my surgery for the following week. The surgery was done outpatient at their Bethesda facility (which is a top-notch center) and I was home that same night. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Miyamoto and his staff; they were professional, kind, considerate, and helpful from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr. Miyamoto!

I went to Dr. Miyamoto for hip pain that Iâ??d been having for years. I love running, but suddenly found myself in pain with little activity at all. Even standing for long periods of time became harder and harder to do. It was an extremely frustrating experience because I have always been really active, and running has always been a huge part of my life. I went to several doctors, tried physical therapy, and numerous other options (pain meds, injections) without much success. I was really disheartened and thought that my running days were over, but was eventually referred to Dr. Miyamoto. I cannot even begin to describe how this changed my life. He sent me for an MRI of my hip, which showed that I had a labrum tear, and after discussing all of the various surgical and nonsurgical options with me, I decided to try hip arthroscopy. I thought that this would be an extensive process with a long recovery period, and was really nervous about surgery. Dr. Miyamoto told me exactly what to expect, and took the time to address all of my questions and concerns in detail. I was home the same day that I had my surgery, only needed crutches for a few weeks, and was back to my usual self within months. Sometimes I forget that I even had the surgery in the first place. I donâ??t normally write reviews for things, but felt like the care and follow up that I got with Dr. Miyamoto was above and beyond anything I ever expected. I am really happy with my experience with him and with the outcome. I would recommend him without hesitation to friends and family in the future.

I had shoulder pain for about year and saw 5 different Orthopedic doctors since I am little OCD. It wasn't till I saw Dr. Miyamoto, that he had correctly diagnosed the problem. Excellent bedside manner and good communication skills, he clearly explained what my problem was and the pluses and minuses of all the possible treatments. I got an instant sense of comfort with him that I didn't get with the other surgeons. In the end, we choose the surgical route. Surgery went flawlessly and now I have my old shoulder back. I also know a few other people who had went to Dr. M and all of them had a great experience as well.

Appears nice. Takes you "under his wing." Gains your trust rapidly. His knowledge is less than you would expect for the way he highly is recommended by his colleagues. Would not recommend.

I have had a history of shoulder dislocations which caused me to have a torn Labrum. Dr, Miyamoto repaired with anchors. The post opt visits went well and I felt 100% after a few months of the operation. I began feeling some pain in my shoulder a year later but it was not related to my prior surgery. I saw a total of 5 Orthopedic doctors, four of which told me I would be fine in a month with rest in phyiscal therapy (which was not the case, I followed their instructions for about 7 months) Dr. Miyamoto recognized I had a SLAP Tear and repaired it. I cannot recommend him enough! He was very helpful through out the whole process especially spending time with me to explain everything after my post opt check up and the weeks to follow. He spends time with the patients to answer all questions and concerns

I contacted the doctor's office at 703-391-0111. I was put through to a surgical staff associate who was rude and hung up on me when I requested to speak to a manager. I was informed prior to my visit that I would receive the doctors letter that stated I needed to be seen for an evaluation regarding my dual labrum hip tears. I was given a script that stated I was seen by the doctor however did not clearly state that I had to be seen by him due to no other specialist within my home region. Thus, I had to travel a distance and spend gas and put miles on my car due to no further specialist within 150 miles from my home. The appointment specialist mentioned he would write me a letter however it was not done. The letter only mentioned that I was seen at his office. It was not detailed enough thus my insurance did not reiburse me for my travel and expenses to and from his office.

There is a big disconnect between the quality of service that Dr. Miyamoto gives and his reception staff. I have visited him in both the old and new locations and had hoped for better service in the new office, but it only seems to have gotten worse. It is not uncommon to wait 20 minutes or so for an appointment, but I nearly lost my mind when I had to wait 50 minutes for the most recent appointment. The "check in" receptionist didn't mention that he was running behind and when I asked her at the 40 minute mark if she could inquire how much more time it would be to be seen, she developed a major attitude problem and made it clear that she would not be asking anyone unless they came in her direction. Wow, I still can't believe it. He is very good at diagnosing injuries and has super follow up. He also addresses injuries very clearly and is great at answering questions. I just wish he could get the front of the house in shape.

Dr. Miyamoto performed my son's ACL reconstruction surgery and i have nothing but positive comments about him. Very happy we chose him to be our surgeon. He seems very knowledgeable, does not rush his patients and is always available for questions/concerns. Would highly recommend Dr. Miyamoto.

I saw Dr. Miyamoto from a referral and was in need of surgery. He was absolutely wonderful. He explained every step of my surgery, had a very calm and relaxing presence once we got to the hospital, and always put me at ease. He spent over an hour with me at my first post-op appointment going over exactly what he did, and what I needed to do to get back to my sports. His bedside manner is the best I have ever seen. I would recommend him to anyone!
