Dr. Butrus has been my Ophthalmology for several years, he performed cataract surgery on both my of eyes and the surgery went well and the recovery time after each eye surgery was quick and painless as was explained to me. I have worn eye glasses from childhood to my adult life and once I decided to have the cataract removed, I'm only wearing glasses for reading with 20/30 vision. Dr. Butrus has a wonderful staff who is always courteous, friendly and pleasant, any time I call the office I can always get an appointment that fits my work schedule. Dr. Butrus I would like to express my gratefulness and appreciation to you and your staff for the continue care of my eyes and the awesome work you do daily in giving people with eye issues and wonderful outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Butrus to anyone looking to better their eye vision.

I had a yearly eye exam covered by my insurance so I went to see for the first time Dr. Butrus. He insisted in giving me more exams, but i didn't want to pay hundreds dollars extra, I had to repeat myself several times to telling that i didn't want extra tests just the yearly exam to get my new glasses prescription. After that he told me not to worry, we do some eye exams and finish with the dilated fundus exam. Dilating the eyes is a central part of this last exam. It involves the administration of two or three drops directly into the eye. You pupil get so dilated that any light beam is painful, and the effect last for couple hours. I have NOT been notified before the appointment about this test and i had not brought or anybody gave me any sunglasses! I had to leave the examination with a big headache due to the over dilation of my eyes and i couldn't even open my eyes correctly because i had no filter to help with the light beams. But Dr. Butrus told me it was normal, i should not worry again. On my way home I almost get hit by a bus (and get yelled at by the bus driver) because i couldn't open my eyes correctly to see the green light. After 2 hours in a darkroom, the headache and the pain in my eyes went away. But it's not over!.. I got a glasses prescription from Dr. Butrus, and i went to buy new glasses... Wonder what happened?? Yes, the prescription was wrong, and no possibility to get reimbursed, so i have glasses that i can't wear because they are way too strong for my eyesight! And... the last one! After few weeks, surprise!!!! you owe money to Dr. Butrus for extra exams not included in the yearly eye exam.. Voila. Don't go see him, like never.

He cares about the needs of his patients. I have always received the best treatment and in a timely manner. He listens to any concerns I might have. His staff is professional and kind.

Dr. B is a great doctor; I hope he never leaves the Capital Hill SE office - he's fantastic to myself and my husband! If you need an eye doctor, he 's the one to go to on Capital Hill!! Evelyn

I’m sad to say my experience wasn’t very good. In general staff was ok except for front desk personnel who was impatient and not very friendly. Dr. Butrus was in a hurry to inspect my eyes and rushed me through a very uncomfortable intense eye test. I felt worse after this visit. I’m not coming back.

I hope Dr. B does not leave the Capital Hill, DC area. I don't know what I would do if he left; he and his entire staff are wonderful. If you need an eye doctor, make an appointment to see him; you will not regret it. Excellent Doctor and wonderful person. He is my and my husband's eye 'doc' for life!!

Dr. B is a wonderful caring doctor. he has such wonderful bedside manners and is so considerate. He explains everything to you in a manner where you can understand. I am so glad I found him. Thank you Doc for everything.

Dr. Salim Butrus is a very nice eye doctor. He is very concerned about his patients and he makes sure that you are comfortable with him. Staff is very nice and Dr. Butrus puts you at ease with his mannerism. The waiting is 10 minutes and that is because are late.

I have always wore glasses and upon being diagnosed with diabetics my primary care physician recommended Dr. Butrus. After years of being a patient , I was informed I had cataracts in both eyes and Dr. Butrus recommended Lasik surgery. I had the surgery to remove the cataracts and now my vision is 20/30 (excellent job). I only wear glasses for reading, this was the best decision I could make. I would recommend Dr. Butrus and his staff if you are looking for an excellent ophthalmology. Wonderful doctor and staff.

Dr. Butrus performed cataract surgery on both eyes. He was very thorough and informative as to what needed to be done. The surgeries and after care have been very successful. I can see very well without the aid of glasses including not needing reading glasses. Thank you Dr. Butrus.

Doctor Salim I. Butrus M.D. is one of the best ophthalmologist in the country, if not the world. For several years he has assisted me and my wife Ruby and we have been truly over satisfied with his work.

Dr. Butrus has been my eye doctor for many years. When I developed an eye inflammation, he was very prompt about seeing me, and his manner was very reassuring and the treatment very effective. Several years later, he performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The results were excellent. As my eyes were recovering from the surgery, he took time to write out the somewhat complicated dosages of drops needed in the tapering-off phase, and I was impressed with that. Through all the years, I have been impressed by the friendliness of the office staff.

I have a long list of eye illness, Myopia, Astigmatism, Cataracts, Keratoconus, Retina problems and other. I completely trust Dr. Burtus. He continues providing the type of personal, friendly and professional support that my previous Eye care doctor, Jerome Goldman gave me. His professional care includes cornea transplant, cataract, cataract implant, and advanced contact lens fitting. But what really got my complete gratitude and trust was the extra quality care he and his staff gave me when I had an eye accident on 2008. On the brink of losing my vision his care, professionalism, but most important the personal the support, and encourage gave the push and confidence to that I needed to recover my sight again. Thanks to God, Dr Salim Burtus and his staff my extended family, I am able to see again and continue working ( not sure very happy about the work part).

Dr. Butrus is Lebanese and bring to the table those very general skills that everybody would be looking for! He is knowledgeable in every and anything and is specific as well. Very pleasant and enjoyable experience; efficient and great as well. Got all my needs met.

I arrived on time for my 2:30 appointment. The waiting room was full. After 45 minutes there were at least 5 people still ahead of me. I told the receptionist that I was leaving and I left. I will not doeal with a doctor who overbooks to maximize his daily profits at the expense of his patients'. I left my wheelchair-bound husband alone to make this appointment which I really needed. I checked 1 hour above,though I stayed 45 minutes, because had I continued to wait, I estimate at least another hour to 1 1/2 hour before I would be seen by the doctor. I chose Dr. Butrus because he took over the office of my previous doctor, Dr. Friedman. This office is close to my home and my time away from the house is very limited.
