For almost five years, we had been told nothing could be done to close up a hole left in our sons stomach that allowed his stomach acid to leak(pour out at times) and burn/ eat away at his scarred belly. I spent at minimum 2 hours day trying to clean minimize the damage to his skin with creams and barriers/ bandages without much success:(. He was in a lot of pain all the time. Finally, during one of his many hospitalizations for infection to his wound, Dr. Dutta was on duty and came in to evaluate my son's abdomen.his exact words were" we can't leave him like that"those had been my exact words for years! He did a major abdominal wall construction for my son and finally, he is no longer suffering from his botched surgical nightmares! Thank you Dr Dutta and ped surg! I am so happy at how "normal" his belly is! Plastic surgery at Packard is amazing,too.
