Doc says I'm good to go! Thank you Jesus and Dr. Scott Hannum for the ability to walk again! 2 years out and I couldn't feel better for a 70 year old. Should you ever need hip or knee replacement, it is worth the trip to Wilmington to see the best physician in the state!

In 15 weeks I am back to umpiring baseball. I had a total left hip replacement. This guy is good!

Dr. Hannum was our second opinion on a prognosis of my hip. I learned more from my visit with him than the three visit to my first orthopedic surgeon. Friendly, honest, and informative. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Hannum replaced my left hip which improved the pain in both of my knees. I don't think there's anyone else I would want to do orthopedic surgery in any of his areas of expertise.

Because of the type of BPMCI Insurance (basic medicare) he signed onto, he will not let you go to rehab facility. He will say that is our protocol. But other Dr's in the same practice will allow it. I definitely needed to go to rehab since I live alone and did not have anyone that could help me. I would Not recommend Dr Hannum especially if you might need rehab. Dr Hannum and all his staff will try and convince you that you are better off home because of infection can be caught in rehab facilities. Although you can also get it in hospital just as easy. My stay was 4 days in hospital, violently sick after surgery. Still sick when I got home for 4 more days. I'm in my mid 70's. The mental anguish that he and his staff caused me is unforgivable. He and staffs common question was "don't you have any friends or family"? My family all live far away and have small children and friends are my age or older and some don't even drive! Would never go back to him!

I had a hip replacement 4 weeks ago today! Dr. HANNUM was great! Told me what to expect. Answered all my questions. Did a excellent job! My scar can hardly be seen! I feel like a new person! So thankful that I chose him! I have already recommended him to a couple of people! He will do a great job! Thanks Dr. Hannum!

No nonsense approach, but gives you the necessary information. He did a knee replacement for me and I had excellent results and a speedy recovery.

In 2015 I saw Dr. Hannum on a recommendation from a Stryker representative while living in the Outer Banks of NC. We knew that we were moving to Wilmington, NC and I wanted a referral for an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in hip revisions. He said that you want Dr. Scott Hannum. Dr. Hannum saw me and could not believe that I had gotten 22 years out of the first hip replacement done in 1993 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He did the revision and had to take out ALL of the previous parts and replace with all new Zimmer parts. He did a fabulous job followed my a lot of rehab but now in May of 2018 it is doing excellent. He also has an excellent PA, Dave Summerfield, in his practice!!! I highly recommend them both!!!!

he put things in my medical records that were not correct or a bold faced lie in 6 months i saw him 3 times including my hospital stay ,never answered questions and clearly was not interested in my health needs

Twice Dr. Hannum has performed surgery on me, both for hip replacements. I would recommend him highly for his skill and professionalism. My last surgery, at Cape Fear hospital, far exceeded any hospital stay I've ever had. The level of professionalism is high, personal interaction between all staff and the patient is excellent. For anyone needed a hip replacement and lives in or near the Wilmington area (we travelled three hours and don't regret a minute of it) you will be more than satisfied with your entire experience.
