My wife and I have been coming to healthwest dental for 4 years since we have lived in Dothan and the staff here are friendly and amazing. My 10 year old had two eye surgeries One week apart. Both surgeries went well. My son was able to open his eyes within a few hours and was amazed at how well he could see with no pain. His recovery is going great. Dr. Sebastian Heersink is awesome and we thank him and his kind staff members for an awesome job.

He may be an excellent doctor, but how in the world do you get an hour and a half behind by 6:30 AM? I am still sitting here at 8:00 AM appointment time 6:30 AM. Someone needs to do better scheduling. I’m tired of him wasting my time.

My first mistake was watching videos on youtube before I went in for my cataract surgery, so of course when I went in for surgery, my blood pressure was through the roof. When I got to the surgery center, the staff was so wonderfully calm, which helped right away. Needless to say, after my surgery I am a changed woman! I have to say now that there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of!!!!!. Dr. Sebastian and his staff are excellent and I now feel that nobody should be afraid of cataract surgery. Now colors are brighter, everything is sharper and I am able to see every leaf on every tree! (My distance vision is back to 20/20!) I can read road signs again! Love, love, love cataract surgery by Dr. Sebastian Heersink! (And down below, if I could go higher than five stars, I would!)

I just had 2 cataracts removed, 3-3 and 3-10, and could not be happier with the results. Dr. Heersink could not have been more attentive and spot on with the diagnosis and choice of lenses. I have had glasses for over 20 years, and the freedom, post op 1 day for each eye is indescribable! The staff that works with Dr. Heersink are so congenial and quick to explain the procedures of testing they administering. All of this combined, you can not find a better Dr., Surgeon, in this area. Dr. Sebastian Heersink is the best!!

Dr. Heersink provided excellent care. The cataract surgery on both of my eyes went very well. Dr Heersink provided me with great information before my surgeries and ensured that I understood what the process would be. During my surgeries, He was very reassuring and made the experience much less stressful. He has also provided excellent follow up care. I recently had cataract surgery performed on both eyes by Dr Sebastian Heersink. As I am sure most people are, I was a little apprehensive at just the thought of eye surgery. Dr Heersink's knowledge, professionalism and bedside manner put me right at ease. I wore contacts for 45 years and was only correctable to 20/30 vision. Dr Heersink implanted toric lenses in both eyes and I now have 20/20 vision....without the hassle of contacts or glasses. I was most impressed with Dr Heersink and his staff, all were very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. It was a great experience!

As most people, I was very concerned about having eye surgery especially from a doctor that I had not even met. I received a quick professional welcome from the front receptionist, who handled some paper work quickly, then began a few hours of test and evaluations to determine the best procedure for my eyes. Each technician was friendly and explained the test. Between test I always knew where to wait and had a very comfortable area to sit. Then the big even of meeting Dr. Heersink. I immediately felt totally comfortable with his bedside manner and patient care. He took as long as I wanted to talk to ensure I felt positive about the procedure. Surgery was that afternoon and it was quick, comfortable and extremely great results. I could see clearly and the results were beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Dr. Sebastian Heersink and his great staff.

I needed cataract surgery, and although I live in Macon, I am from Dothan. After researching replacement lens, I decided that I wanted the Nanoflex lens from Star. Dr Sebastian Heersink agreed to let me be his first patient to use the Nanoflex. The day after the surgery, I can report that my vision in the eye is 20/20, and I my mid and long rage vision is perfect. The near vision is not perfect yet, but getting better. My hope is not to have to use reading glasses. Eye Center South was professional and I could not be happier with the Doctor and his staff.

On Good Friday, of all days, I developed what I thought could be an ophthalmic emergency, all the more concerning because I was flying to Washington, DC the next day. I called Eye Center South to see if my regular ophthamologist , Dr. Marnix Heersink was in. He was out of town, but his son, Dr. Sebastian Heersink instructed me to come in - that he would see me right away. Which he did. After a thorough exam, he determined that I did not have an emergency, but I did have a situation. He then went the extra mile by giving me the name and phone number of a medical school classmate who practices on Capitol Hill, so that I could take my trip with peace of mind. He also instructed me to see a retina specialist upon my return. Yesterday, I had my follow-up exam with Dr. Ram Peddada. He confirmed Dr. Heersink's diagnosis and will follow my case for the next 6 weeks or so. Doctors Heersink and Peddada were equally impressive, as were all of their technicians, especially Marian and Victoria. The level of care afforded me at Eye Center South has always been sterling, but in this particular instance, I have to say it was platinum. My thanks to all.
