Dr. Shilpa Jagdish Gaikwad, MD

The two stars assigned to this review are solely attributed to the front office staff at this Memorial Care location. From the receptionist, patient navigators, to MAs and phlobotomist, their patience, kindness, and accommodation were evident from the moment I first contacted or walked in seeking assistance. My motivation for writing this review stems from my interactions with Dr. Shilpa J. Gaikwad. I consulted her due to persistent excess mucus build-up in my lungs, which caused shortness of breath, dizziness, and a general sense of unwellness. Dr. Gaikwad ordered blood work and a chest x-ray, assuring me that we would address the issue comprehensively. Upon reviewing my lab results through the MyChart app a few days later, I noticed that my blood glucose levels fell into the pre-diabetes category. Given my pre-nursing background and upcoming nursing school plans, I recognized the significance of these results as a warning sign for my health. Unfortunately, during a follow-up consultation with Dr. Gaikwad, several issues arose: 1. Blood Work: Dr. Gaikwad dismissed my pre-diabetes as "normal" and suggested that my elevated blood glucose levels might be attributed to my previous day's diet. This response left me frustrated as it seemed she did not genuinely care about my well-being. She failed to offer practical solutions to address my health concerns or explore my dietary, eating patterns, or lifestyle choices. She did not consider genetic predisposition or the possibility of an underlying medical condition. As suspected, after a follow-up with a different doctor we can for a fact determine that my elevated blood glucose levels are not normal and need further testing. All of which Dr. Gaikwad failed to do or care for. 2. Chest X-ray: Dr. Gaikwad mentioned hyperinflation in my x-rays, possibly due to allergens, and prescribed medication and an inhaler for my symptoms and shortness of breath. However, these solutions seemed hasty and short-term without addressing the root causes of my health issues. 3. Finally, Dr. Gaikwad did not even acknowledge or address my low CO2 levels, suggesting a lack of concern for my overall well-being. I had to advocate for myself and ask Dr. Gaikwad to see a pulmonologist since she did not have any concrete answers as to how to improve my health. Following this experience, it is evident that Dr. Gaikwad's approach to care does not meet the standards of quality healthcare I seek. I am not seeking quick-fix solutions through medications; instead, I aspire to improve my health and lead a long, healthy life. Doctors like Dr. Gaikwad contribute to the disappointing state of our healthcare system and deter people from seeking medical care, as it becomes apparent that their motivations may be financial rather than a genuine commitment to patient care and well-being.

So warm and inviting. Took lots of time with me and truly listened. Glad I found my new Dr as we just moved into the state and I had my previous Dr for over 20 years, so was a bit nervous. Feeling relieved and thankful to have found Dr Gaikwad

Dr. Gaikwad is intelligent and empathetic. She is able to quickly assess the symptoms and provide pragmatic solutions. It is easy to discuss personal issues with her due to the friendly as well as embracing approach. She is simply amazing! I am grateful that she is my doctor.

My experience with Dr Gaikwad is always a positive one. She genuinely listens to my concerns, professionally addresses them, and is quick to to handle them whether it be by referring someone better suited to my current issue, or taking care of it herself. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional doctor.

Dr. Gaikwad promptly scheduled a zoom call, and addressed my health issue urgently so I could start the medication soon enough. Dr. Shilpa and her staff are the best!! Thank you

Dr.Gaikwad is a kind , understanding and intelligent doctor. She is professional and listens to all concerns and questions. I feel like a valued person and that I am important to her in her medical practice. I feel that she knows me as a person and remembers my medical history .

She's a great doctor. Very approachable and caring. She also calls back when you leave a message! That seems rare now a days.

I have seen this kind doctor for the past two years. She has always been not only a wonderful family doctor, but a trusted advocate for looking out for myself and my family. Her staff is also very quick, and friendly. She is salso easy to approach on any topic. Always has a great smile too.

We just decided to stop going to Dr. Gaikwad after giving her 5 years worth of chances. She totally rushes you out the door and doesn't follow up. Also she has to refer you out for literally everything, leaving me wonder why I should even go there at all. By the way, there isn't even a bathroom inside her office. You have to go outside and around back, as if it is the gas station.

I went to see Dr. Gaikwad because I was not feeling well with a sore throat, running nose and itchy eyes. I had never experienced allergies before and didn't realize that was what I had. Dr. Gaikwad saw me and told me that there was nothing wrong but ran tests and proceeded to charge me and send me on my way. A week later I was still suffering from a horrible sore throat and symptoms had developed into a sinus infection. I called and requested a z-pac which she called in and proceeded to charge me for another office visit. Dr. Gaikwad didn't treat me the first time and the second time I only realized what was wrong after consulting other people and needing help. I would understand if it was something uncommon, but at the start of allergy season and with classic allergy symptoms I would expect a Dr. to be more knowledgable. Not only that but to get relief from my symptoms it cost me well over $400 because she charged me for multiple times.
