Dr. Sonia Karima Qadir, MD

I'm a 30 year old male and have been a patient of Dr. Qadir's less than a year. I hesitated writing this review because I hate the idea of hurting somebody's reputation and possibly their income, but because this is directly related to billing excessively and without my authorization, I think it's worth sharing so that other patients can be aware. I've "seen" Dr. Qadir three times this year. The first was my annual physical, but the second two appointments were impromptu video calls for which I was specifically told I would not be charged before I agreed to them. The second call was just to let them know that I had tested positive for COVID with mild symptoms and wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing by not seeking medical care. On both calls there was some sort of interference or static for the 2-3 minutes we spoke, which made it hard to understand what she was saying. I kept trying to tell her that I couldn't hear her but she just said "it's fine, it's working." I think that she is aware that the software doesn't work well and just doesn't want to deal with it. On the last call, she told me to take Vitamin C and Vitamin D and exercise, and then chastised me for contracting the virus. She said "we're never going to get through this pandemic if you don't follow the rules." To me, and I think to anybody who has completely altered their lifestyle for the past 10 months in order to stop the spread of the virus, this was incredibly offensive and unfair. For both "virtual appointments," they billed my insurance a total of $900. Again, I specifically told the receptionist that I could not speak with the doctor if there would be a charge, and she specifically said that I would not be charged "because of COVID." Once I received the bill for the last appointment, I called to ask about this and was told "it doesn't matter what you were told, your insurance wouldn't cover all of it," and "it doesn't matter if you spoke to her for 30 seconds, it's still an appointment." Altogether, my experience with Sonia and her staff has been really, really bad, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for care.

I've been a patient for years and the quality of care has gone very down hill. I am looking for a new provider now and making a break completely because I find that when I needed Dr. Qadir, she let me down. Disappointed and discouraged.

I've been seeing Dr. Qadir for almost a decade. Her team is friendly and efficient. I recommend her 100% to anyone who is looking for a professional Dr. who treats her patients with care and concern.

I visited Dr. Qadir about 1 week ago and I highly recommend her to any friends or family. Her office is always clean, and wait times are very short. She always thoroughly walks you through her diagnosis and you are never left not knowing anything about your condition. The office staff is also fantastic and very friendly.

Dr. Qadir is a physician who practices medicine with the utmost integrity. She has served our family with great professionalism and care.

Clearly overworked and in desperate need of a professional vacation. Her bedside manner is shameful and her lack of follow up and concern for her patients health is almost criminal.

Who is writing all the glowing reviews? What happened to all the negative reviews I read last year? Was a internet company hired to clean up bad reviews? Most probably! My entire experience with Dr Qadir was horrible!! Beware and make your own opinion! Leave a review so others do not have to waste their time with this inept Botox doctor!

Was not pleased that the doctor decided to add her personal opinion in regards too my sons choice to play football. The doctor stated that maybe you should play another sport. It was nice of her to try and discourage him. Evan in the exam room when she was treating him she had negative comments about football. NOT YOUR CALL LADY KEEP YOUR PERSONAL BIAS OUT OF THE EXAM ROOM ... nice of you to discourage kids playing sports. I understand it's a physical game but played correctly and supervised ... anyway enough of my rant

I went to Dr Qadir after 2 visits to stat health and arrived at her office extremely ill. After one visit and a follow up call I was instructed to go to hospital by Dr Qadir. I had been given an antibiotic (possibly unnecessarily so by stat health). Dr Qadir was able to quickly diagnose me and saved my life. For the rest of my life I have to avoid antibiotics as it is more likely I will get c diff again. I spent 5 miserable days in isolation at the hosiptal. Less learned - antibiotics are not the answer & they should be taken only when absolutely necessary.

Dr Qadir is a wonderful, caring and very thorough! Our entire family uses her and appreciates everything she does and find her the best Doctor around!

Dr Qadir is that doctor you thought didnt exist anymore. She takes time with you and listens. She explores every possibility with your health concerns and leaves no stone unturned.

Dr. Qadir is a great doctor to go to! I was extremely satisfied with the wait time, cleanliness, and respect I was given. The laser hair removal was amazing, because I no longer have any hair on my legs, I'm planning on going to her office again for Botox!

If you have a problem Dr. Qadir can solve it. Not only is she great for regular check ups, but she is also great at doing botox and laser hair removal! There isn't one speck of dust in her office, and she is very professional. What I love about Dr. Qadir is that she takes time with all of her patients, and her staff is incredibly diligent. No wonder I am a regular patient!

Dr. Sonia Qadir is by far the most organized, professional, and efficient doctor on Long Island. I strongly recommend patients to go to her. Dr. Qadir has a great ear and I felt very comfortable in her office. Her staff is great and connects well with her patients.

I'm a healthcare worker & have dealt with many doctors. Dr. Qadir is caring & intelligent.

I am not sure why Dr. Qadir received such a negative review that states that she is racist and rude. It is very shocking to read such comments because I have never experienced such behavior from her. I can say with confidence that she is not racist and does not rush patients out of the office without fully helping them. I can ask her as many questions I need without her getting aggravated or annoyed. She stays to answer the questions and takes as much time as needed with me. If she feels anything is out of the ordinary she always makes sure that I schedule a follow-up appointment and necessary steps are taken to figure out what is wrong. I had gone into one of my appointments knowing that something was wrong because I constantly felt tired and would have high blood pressure everyday. Doctor Qadir ordered multiple blood tests on me the day I went in and she called me with the results very shortly after I left her office. I had protein in my urine when I did the urine test and she called me immediately. I received a call from the Dr. Qadir herself which was surprising to me because usually Doctors do not care enough to call their patients about their results. She requested that I have a 24 hour creatinine/protein clearance done at the lab. The lab results showed that my kidneys were not working properly. Immediately afterwards Dr.Qadir ordered a renal sonogram for me and sent me to a nephrologist. Luckily for me they were able to monitor my kidney functions and place on the right medication to prevent further progression of kidney failure. So please do not believe the review that was posted where it stated that she dismisses patients about their concerns. Dr. Qadir does not dismiss concerns and asks appropriate questions to be able to diagnose you. She asked me about my food diet when I went in also but that was to see if the types of food that i was taking was effecting my blood pressure. I would highly recommend her and am happy that I switched doctors. Appointments are always easy to make and her staff is incredibly nice.

Dr. Qadir is one of the best if not the best doctors I have gone to. She is welling to listen and does not rush you out like other doctors do. Her staff is friendly and scheduling appointments is the easiest thing to do. Usually i can schedule my appointment in less than five minutes over the phone and can be seen that day! It is also convenient that the Doctor does bloodwork, EKGS and diagnostic testing in the office. The doctor noticed a problem in my EKG and to follow-up I was able to do an echo in her office that same week. I would highly recommend Dr. Qadir!
