Dr. Stephanie Koven, MD

Very comfortable and grateful. She is superb.

Dr Koven has provided me with stellar care over the many years she has been my Doctor. Dr. Koven is: Quick to respond to emails. Great with addressing health issues promptly. skilled at making suggestions that are well thought out. Great at letting patients know she really cares. Fantastic with staying on top of patient portal communication including follow up.

She has been spot-on with diagnosis and gets back quickly via the Cedars online portal.

Not sure what happened to the ratings in my review below. Dr. Koven has been prompt and excellent with diagnosis.

My experience with Dr. Koven has been great. She has earned my trust and appreciation with her kindness, knowledge and communication skills. She answers all of my questions and has a very pleasant demeanor and bedside manner. When necessary, she refers me to world class specialists within the Cedars system.

Dr Koven couldn't have been less interested in me. She barely looked at me, just pored over her computer reading my medical history. She didn't examine me, she never asked if I had any issues, I had to bring them up myself. I had the strong impression that she couldn't get me out of the office quick enough. Her staff is friendly and efficient and they deserve to work for a better more caring doctor.

I use to love Dr.Koven. In the past she has always been kind when i saw her in the office but her staff is another story. I broke my wrist about three years ago prior to seeing her. For the first time since the break it my wrist started hurting so naturally i called to see if some one could see me. the office said they were booked and i should go to the urgent care. In my 7 years of working in a medical office we have never denied anyone in pain. i thought that my doctors office was suppose to care when someone was in pain, i guess they could only help when they have time for you.

Dr. Koven is knowledgeable and low key. She didn't push anything on me for treatment, but instead went through the range of options and possible outcomes for each. She is thoughtful and well-informed on a wide variety of treatments for my issues. Also her staff is terrific. I waited maybe 5 minutes to get in to see her, and then for about 10 minutes in the exam room. Magazines were recent so I had something to read for a few minutes before the exam.

I had an appointment with Koven a couple months ago and requested certain medications, because I'm familiar with them and I was under the impression that my insurance would cover them. Koven ended up sending over the wrong prescription for one (a 3% instead of 5% strength on the medicine), and my insurance would not cover the other prescription. Since then, I've called Koven's office several times and left a message every time, and NO ONE has called me back. When I was at her office, I was given several blood tests, and no one has even called me back about that! I was told I could check online, but it turns out I have to be given a code in the office in order to register online and view my blood lab results, which no one gave me and I can't get in touch with anyone over the phone to try to get it or even make new appointments. It's a huge mess and completely ridiculous. I'm going to have to change doctors, because I need a doctor who will listen to me and actually take two seconds to call me back, or at the very least call my insurance! (I left information and a number to call and everything.) It's very sad because she seemed very nice, and the other doctor she shares her office with has nothing but amazing reviews online, but their office would only let me see Koven because of my insurance. :c

Very nice doctor, great nurse, small, more personal office. All in all a great doc and I feel lucky to have found her.
