Dr. Stephen Koss, MD

I went to see Dr. Koss because of the good reviews, unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience with Dr. Koss. His diagnosis was that i have a torn meniscus and he just basically told me that he recommend surgery without elaborating on my symptoms. I felt surgery was premature and I declined. Nine months later my knee is 95% better without surgery, So I felt he didn’t have my best interest at hand. This just doesn’t apply to Dr. Koss, in general, when the first word is surgery always use caution.

Need TNR redone as he used wrong Sparta and then ignored my complaints for a year.

Dr. Koss did an excellent job on my shoulder! I am very happy with the results. He and his team are very caring. I'm at the end of my PT. Shoulder is nearly perfect now!

Saw Dr. Koss when he was with Andover Orthopedics. He scoped my knee and never had another problem with it. He left that practice and I lost track of him so I saw another doctor for a shoulder issue at Andover who scoped my shoulder. No relief. I accidently stumbled onto Dr. Koss again at The Orthopedic Institute and immediately made an appointment. Turns out I needed a total shoulder replacement. Dr. Koss did the surgery.....pain gone. Better use of my shoulder than expected. Will not trust my ortho needs to anyone else.

I followed Dr.Koss from a previous practice where he treated me and my daughter for knee and shoulder surgeries. Once again Dr? Koss performed flawless knee surgery for my torn meniscus. Dr. Koss and his entire staff are always couteous, professional, knowledgeable and informative. I would not hesitate to consult Dr. Koss again.

I went to Dr. Koss with a torn rotator cuff. He explained the process and made me feel at ease regarding the upcoming procedure. The surgery and follow-up were flawless, and the care I received from Dr. Koss and his staff was terrific. I would not hesitate to go to Dr. Koss again and would recommend him without hesitation.

I went one time to see dr Koss and never will I go back first off he put I have full tangle of motion with my arm When I clearly don't which was why my dr sent me to him. He also asked if Advil/ Tylenol helped with the pain I said no and he put it did. Also he look at the X-ray said nothing's broke its bursitis only we will give you a shot and you'll be good to go. I asked if I should come back was told by him no. Yet when I called to complain they asked why I never made my 3 week appointment he wanted me to. I said cause when I asked I was told no need to come back. Wow what a joke. It took 3 more weeks to even get my records. Awful dr would not send my worst enemy to him.

Dr. Koss and his staff in the Newton office always handled my case with exceptional care and concern. They were very professional and courteous. I didn't wait for more than 10 minutes from my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Koss' professionalism was further enhanced by his calm demeanor and care for my well-being. He also displayed a very good sense of humor (not at all stuffy like some MDs I've experienced). He answered all of my questions and concerns promptly. His descriptions of my treatment, surgery, and follow-up care was always very clear. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone seeking an orthopedic surgeon with good bedside manner and a professional staff.

I had a great experience with my AC surgery. Dr. Koss was did a great job with the surgery and was very helpful pre and post surgery.

From initial consultation through the surgery and after care, Dr. Koss was excellent and helped me return to work quickly.

I have been seeing Dr Koss for knee problems for many years. His treatment and care are the best. I find Dr Koss to be caring, and always taking the time to keep me informed of my condition and any recent advances in my knee treatments. I would recommend he and his staff to anyone with orthopedic concerns.

Being new to the area, it's great to find a Orthopedic Dr. who makes you feel very comfortable and takes the time to explain all the options regarding my shoulder problem. Dr. Koss and his staff are a real pleasure to work with and I am glad to have found them.

I was concerned about seeing Dr. Koss even tho' my GP recommended him because I read a couple of negative reviews. After my visit I must say the reviews I read were totally wrong. His staff were all very pleasant, the wait time was nil and the Doctor was very thorough and could not have been more pleasant.
