Dr. Stephen McCollam is the best hand surgeon ever! Over a year and a half ago I was involved in a car accident. The airbags deployed and my right ring finger was shattered. I'm so fortunate for 2 reasons: the accident could have had much worse results and through extremely thorough research online, I found Dr. McCollam, who performed 2 different surgeries as a result of this accident: the first surgery put my finger back together again, and later carpel tunnel surgery. Dr. McCollam even came in on his day off to remove 2 pins from my finger. I have recommended him to family and friends and will continue to do so. Am so grateful to have found the very talented, very professional, highly respected and experienced Dr. Stephen McCollam.

Dr. McCollam did a wonderful job of helping treat my broken thumb and nerve damage from a work injury. He was able to provide me with a referral to excellent physical therapy and attentively addressed all of my concerns and options. I would recommend him to take on any hand issue with his incredible knowledge.

Dr. McCollam actually looked at me and listened to my symptoms as a human being and not a waisted time on his clock. I’d refer my family and friends to him, and the waiting time is between 5-10 minutes.

Dr. McCollam was a second opinion after a work related shoulder injury. He worked me into the schedule the very next day, and was very attentive, patient, kind, and eased my anxiety before having surgery. He also visited me before my surgery to help put me at ease. He went to talk with my family after surgery and thoroughly explained how I did in surgery, and images from surgery films. He also called (himself) a couple days after surgery to check in on me. I work in a hospital and with doctors everyday. If you want a doctor that is patient, takes time to answer questions (without condescension), and is a very skilled surgeon, I highly recommend him. My shoulder is feeling better btw. If I ever require another surgery for another injury, I will return without hesitation. I also never write doctor reviews, but potential patients really deserve to know that there are wonderful doctors out there. You also aren’t treated any differently as a worker’s comp patient.

I broke my right hand, and I'm a right handed dentist, so it was obviously very important to me that the required surgery was done well. Dr. McCollam was flawless through the experience -- his bedside manner is excellent, he educated and informed me of what happened and what was going to happen. I was injured late Friday night and seen first thing Saturday morning, and then I was in surgery Monday morning. The procedure was fast and easy. I had almost zero pain (despite having a plate and six pins placed). I'm four months out and my hand is doing really well. I barely missed work, my scar is barely there, and I can do all the delicate procedures my job requires. I am so grateful to Dr. McCollam and Peachtree Orthopaedics.

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Stephen McCollam and his staff at Peachtree Orthopedics!!!! This is my third worker's comp related orthopedic injury and it has been by far the best experience. He went above and beyond the standard course of care for my type of injury. He listened to my concerns, ordered additional tests and additional work hardening therapy. He and his team was focused on my health instead of how fast he could get my back to work. The general impression of worker's comp doctors is that they are in cahoot's with your employer, because that's who is paying them to get you back to work quickly and that they treat their regular patients better than their worker's comp patient. I have had that feeling/experience when dealing with a different worker's comp doctor, but NOT this time. I was treated like a patient, not a formula or a predetermined return to full duty date on the calendar. Thanks Dr. McCollam for helping to restore my faith in the worker's comp process.

Had surgery on my hand to repair a broken finger that was severely misaligned. Professional service and results that count. Surgeon was experienced and understandably confident - he had done many of these before, you can tell. Now able to use my hand just like before (eating, IT, gardening, driving, DIY etc).
