Dr. Stephen Scott Sparks, MD

My son saw Dr. Sparks a few times, as he was born with one kidney. Last week, I made an appointment to see Dr. Sparks to ask questions regarding COVID-19 effects on the pediatric kidney population, and any post viral syndrome damage to the kidneys. When I made the appointment, I was not told I needed to bring my son. Therefore, given it was an informational appointment, I left him at home. Upon arrival, I was told he would not see me. I begged to be seen, and requested a short phone call, given the office did not indicate my son's presence was required. I was told Dr. Sparks would not call me, and that "he had no opinion on COVID-19." I was astounded and realized I was better suited to find another caregiver. If this is his level of compassion, he should not be treating pediatric patients. I am still in shock that he turned away a concerned mother of a two year old boy with one kidney. Do yourself a favor, and find another doctor that cares.
