Dr. Steve Zohair Kallabat, MD

Dr. Kallabat has been my extended family’s doctor for years. My brother who is a doctor and myself, a nurse, think the world of him. He’s extremely thorough, intelligent, listens, and cares without any arrogance. His office staff are friendly and very prompt in getting preauthorizations from insurance companies. I would highly recommend him!!

Not one to ever write reviews but the staff at this office are the dumbest most incompetent people I have ever come across in the world.

Dr. Kallabat is a kind and caring Doctor who treats his patients with respect and dignity. He has been our family Doctor for years and we trust him with all of our medical problems both minor and major. When you go for an appt. you are not just a number you are a person and he remembers you and cares about your problems. We are blessed to have him for our Doctor. You would be hard pressed to find one better:))

I think I like Dr. Kallabat. We never had any major medical issues, though, so can't speak to his diagnostic abilities. He was my child's doctor for several years-a child who has never had any medical issues other than seasonal allergies-so, relatively healthy. I was upset because in calling for a refill for a rescue inhaler-one that had been prescribed regularly, the front desk never had him call me nor refill the prescription-only pressured me into scheduling a recall exam one month too early. When I balked at scheduling the visit too early (based on potentially incurring charges from insurance non-coverage and having no medical complaint), they had the billing office (off-site) threaten me with collections from a balance (less than $100) incurred from the previous recall the year before. I am a medical professional, and I took personal offence that because my child needed a refill (that I eventually filled elsewhere) and I did not want to schedule an untimely office visit, I was treated like a deadbeat parent. I don't hide behind incompetent staff and billing practices-and I don't deny care/meds based on perceived ability to pay. It shows poor judgement, that he also never returned the call (at my request). That tells me everything I need to know-I did see poor reviews about the office staff prior to scheduling with Dr. kallabat, but until I really needed my child's doctor, I did not see their shortcomings. Evaluation: good if you do not have any medical issues or need refills; bad if you hate having billing discrepancies and strong-arm tactics.

Dr Kallabat is a great doctor. He helped me get rid of a bad rash I had. The only thing I do not like is that the wait time is so long!

My children and I both see Dr. Kallabat. He is a caring and compassionate doctor-who takes the time to actually talk to you about your concerns or issues. I can't imagine trusting mine or my children's care.

An amazing dr

Contray to other reviews I saw Dr Predis. The office staff was friendly. Dr Predis really listened and worked a course I felt comfortable with. Highly recommended.

Dr. Kallabat has been my doctor for many years. He listens intently on your concerns and analysis every detail of how to help you. He is a doctor I trust, a doctor who cares, and a doctor who truly enjoys his job!

My most memorable moment would have to be the day that I delivered my daughter at Beaumont Hospital. Dr. Kallabat was the first to inform me that aside from being a healthy baby girl, she also had all 10 fingers and toes. Well, here we are 10 years later and a 20 Mile driving distance later. I still refuse to allow any other doctor to diagnose/treat me or my little one. Dr. Kallabat and his team have a way of making his patients feel like family; this has been consistent year after year. I would highly recommend and refer my family and friends to this awesome MD.

I think that it is important to take a look at the dates of the negative reviews and look at what has been done recently. While I have experienced the negativity that others have mentioned about the receptionists, I have also sen Dr. Kallabat make a concerted effort to right the situation. I think those actions are a direct representation of his concern for his patients. I have lived in the Detroit area for eight years now, and since being here, I have changed doctors five times. Each of the previous doctors seemed to have one trait in common: indifference. While dealing with a number of health concerns with the previous doctors, I was met with a lack of concern and writing off my symptoms as unimportant or common. Dr. Kallabat recommended some further tests, and found different results that required immediate attention. The results of the test weren't scheduled to be available until the Tuesday following the Friday scan, but Dr. Kallabat called the technician himself and called me Friday night with the results. He stated that he knew I wouldn't want to worry about it over the weekend. Dr. Kallabat was recommended to me by my cousin, and I intend to make the same recommendations for other family and friends.

The doctor and medical staff are amazing but the people at the receptionist desk are horrible! Worst experience I have ever had! They are extremely rude and not helpful at all!! I had to call multiple times on many different occasions to get any type of information, and when I finally spoke with someone that had some sort of answer it was very limited and they would want to call me back with more details! Needless to say I would be the person calling back.

I would recommend this physician to many. He listens to your concerns, presents options to you for resolution for discussion, knowledgeable in his field, courteous and respectful. I really like the fact that routine x-ray and lab work are done on the premises.

Dr. Kallabat is a great physician, I would highly recommend him. I was surprised to see any negative review on him, but after reading them I see that they were directed towards the office staff and common misunderstandings of which pharmacy a prescription went to, not anything that should be a negative impact on Dr. Kallabat. If you are easily swayed by negative remarks, you need to read deeper and see their anger is not a reflection on the doctors performance. To the ex patient who complained twice about this doctor, I understand the doctors frustration with your review, a mistake in a prescription being sent (not an error in the meds itself but a delay in the pharmacy receiving the presctiption) shouldn't warrant a complaint. And if you have to drive 10 miles to a pharmacy then the smart thing to do would be to call to make sure the prescription is there before you make not one, but two trips out. This is your fault not his so yeah I would have released you as a patient too.

Dr. Kallabat is great-he is very knowledgable and always treats our children with the utmost care and consideration. Highly recommend him!

He was very nice man and was very caring about my condition. His staff was also very friendly and supportive. I will definitely be going back to see him!
