Dr. Steven D Levin, MD

My name is Rares Gherghiceanu and I am a former Romanian rugby player. Recently Dr. Levin performed a ACL and a meniscus repair on my right knee , and I guess what motivated me to write this review, is to help others know how dedicated Dr. Levin is to the sport community, especially the rugby one. At the time of this review I'm five weeks after the surgery and everything is going well. Before surgery you've said " I'm going to take good care of you ". You sure did Doc, and for that I thank you.

Dr. Stephen D. Levin is associated with Endeavor Health. He is an amazing doctor! He preformed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. From the 1st time I met him he and his staff were nothing but professional, caring and great at their jobs. Once we determined surgery was needed he and his staff took care of everything. We scheduled the surgery, his staff set up the home delivery of anything I needed for post op healing. The surgery was able to be scheduled with limited wait time. I had the surgery on a Tuesday and Dr. Levin saw me on that Thursday. It put me at such ease once we talked about what I was feeling and what to expect in the coming days. I then saw him 10 days later. After the exam and his explanation he made sure to answer any questions I had. After a month he had me start P.T. 6 months later I am back to 100% and able to get back on the golf course. Dr. Levin and his staff work really well together. They all made me feel at ease and well taken care of. Anytime I messaged the doctor or office I got a response really quickly. I received a call to see how I was doing after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Levin and his staff to my family and friends. If you are looking for a good orthopedic doctor Dr. Stephen Levin is your guy!

Dr. Levin is a wonderful MD and Surgeon. He explains things very well so that you can understand. I highly recommend him to anyone.

My husband suffered a "massive" rotator cuff tear. Dr. Levin explained the options for repair. He was very clear that due to the severity of the injury, surgery to repair the rotator cuff tear had a small chance of success. After several months of physical therapy, my husband still had restricted range of motion and pain with everyday activities. We returned to Dr. Levin to discuss options. Dr. Levin recommended a reverse shoulder replacement. He clearly explained the procedure and answered all our questions. The result of the shoulder replacement is fantastic. The pain and range of motion are both greatly improved and will continue to get better. My husband is so very pleased with the result. We are grateful for Dr. Levin's skill and knowledge.

Dr. Levin was very engaging with the entire visit and process with my son's knee surgery. He didn't rush any office visits; he listened to our concerns and questions and really explained what was wrong and how he would correct the ACL tear with surgery. The outcome was perfect and his follow up visits and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. My son understood what was expected of him for rehab and he is now back to playing ball with no pain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Levin to anyone who needs an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr Levin is an incredible surgeon, and I am thankful that I saw him for my ACL Revision. Five years prior, I saw a different surgeon and I had an allograft ACL surgery and a repaired torn miniscus - and it was a slow recovery that never really happened. I was on crutches for 10 weeks, had to have a second surgery to remove scar tissue and even though I had a year of PT - still never felt stable. My friend recommended Dr Levin - he instantly ordered an MRI and discovered that the ACL was not connected, the holes were out of place, and unfortunately the surgery needed to happen again, but fortunately Dr Levin did an outstanding job - he separated the surgery into two sessions - one to repair the holes and clean out the old ACL - second surgery to utilize an autograph. I was off crutches in one day - two weeks later could put all my weight on the replaced ACL and am way ahead of schedule on a speedy recovery. When you pick a surgeon, pick the right one - Dr Levin is the right one

Outstanding surgeon, excellent bedside manner. Did revision ACL on me after failed by another surgeon. Used new lateral extraarticular tenodesis technique. Back playing rugby and knee feels stronger than before surgery. Best Sports Surgeon!

Dr. Levin is a surgeon’s surgeon: honest communication of risks and rewards; analytic prescience; instincts refined through a long and successful career; sure hands; pride in his ability to handle difficult surgeries; respect for his patients as well as his craft; thorough, detailed and truthful summary of his surgery; and post-op care nicely coordinated with physical-therapy schedules. Without hyperbole, all of these attributes were exhibited in my wife’s reverse total shoulder replacement with Dr. Levin. Kudos must be added for Dr. Levin’s wonderful surgical team, their talent unseen and often unheralded, but absolutely necessary for the health of the whole. We did meet Lindsey (a gracious link to everyone!) and his anesthesiologist (excellent technical and people skills), Paul Guillod. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome as well as the process leading up to this complex operation.

Dr. Levin is an outstanding surgeon who cares for his patients. He did my son’s 3rd ACL repair and used the newest surgical techniques. My son had two prior ACL surgeries from a different doctor who used the least effective method which made this surgery more complicated. Dr. Levin approached it as if we were family, taking time to ensure all obstacles were accounted for and delivering excellent results. He truly cares about my son and his long term well being. I’m grateful to have had Dr. Levin as our surgeon!

Met Dr. Levin in 2012 after tearing an ACL playing football. He was pleasant, patient, and very detail oriented. He got me through the surgery and my surgically repaired knee ended up being stronger than my normal one! He is a very talented and gifted surgeon, I recommend him to everybody I know! He is nothing short of a god-send for me. Thanks Dr. Levin!

Dr. Steven Levin is an amazing and outstanding surgeon as well as a human being. He’s repaired both my ACL’s and done meniscecptomys during both surgeries at the same time. He is extremely capable of performing clean surgeries and recovery is as smooth as it could be. I would highly recommend letting Dr. Levin diagnose and operate for any of your shoulder/knee injuries.

Top notch in all visits and then most importantly for the meniscus scope procedure which went perfect.

I highly recommend Dr. Levin as an orthopedic surgeon! I play competitive volleyball, and had been experiencing shoulder pain over the past year. One visit to Dr. Levin, and he immediately identified the source as a torn labrum that required arthroscopic surgery. The procedure went amazingly well -- no pain at all and, at 5 weeks post-op, I already have a significant amount of mobility back in the area! Dr. Levin was clear in explaining the procedure and setting expectations, and was also incredibly patient in answering any questions that I had. I seen Dr. Levin for an issue with my left shoulder. X-rays were taken and he diagnosed my issues right away. Dr. Levin is an outstanding surgeon. He gave me my life back. I dislocated my shoulder surfing. I was considering surgery but did my research. I consulted with Dr. Steve Levin in Chicago as he is Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for USA Rugby, on the editorial board of American Journal of Sports Medicine, as well as many other accolades and qualifications. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, thorough, empathetic and responsive. He guided me through the process including options for surgery and non-surgery treatment. I am doing very well and on the road to recovery. I cannot thank Dr. Levin enough for his expertise.

I give Dr. Levin my highest recommendation for his compassion, wisdom, and state-of-the-art treatment. On my first visit, Dr. Levin was attentive and empathetic. He conducted manual tests, gave me his initial impression, and reassured me by addressing all questions and concerns. To no surprise, a subsequent MRI confirmed that I had completely torn my ACL. Dr. Levin was not only supportive but honest by informing me of graft options and other realities of my procedure. To make matters complicated, on surgery day, I caught a cold. Dr. Levin immediately rescheduled my surgery to ensure that I would return to teaching my students on time. Even though my injury happened five years ago, and I only received treatment recently, my knee is getting stronger every day. Thanks to Dr. Levin, I do not doubt that I will return to playing the sport I love!

Dr.Levin is such a phenomenal surgeon and has done 2 completely different orthopedic surgeries on me and corrected both problems completely, leaving no lingering pain or problems ever again. He is a brilliant & skilled surgeon and is easy to talk to and he always answers any questions or concerns I may have. I am so Grateful I had him as my surgeon for both surgeries.
