I think Dr Gausewitz is a very good Dr. I felt that I was in good hands. Will recommend him to all who need hip surgery.

Efficient, competent, optimistic yet realistic

Newport Orthopedic is what Orthopedic Surgery should be. They are well- staffed, Incredibly knowledgeable, Very Courteous, Helpful,, comforting,,,Everything that you would expect of a first class, upscale,Medical Practice . They can be busy, at times, but, the word has gotten out of how great they are !

Excellent Doctors. Both Gausewitz and my anesthesiologist Dr. L. Smith . Excellent nurses and PT staff. I was up and walking by the evening of my surgery. Two weeks post op and I'm walking without a cane pain free. Very pleased with the Hoag group.

Dr. Gausewitz is seeing me through a horrific osteo-arthritis of the hip situation, with a recent hip replacement. Mine was more complicated than most, but through it all, Dr. Gausewitz was up-front and honest with me, very kind, but never gave me false hope, nor did he make promises he couldn't keep. I felt in good hands, and there are no hands I'd rather have mend me back together than his!

I just had my second Total Knee Replacement surgery performed by Dr. Gausewitz. I was happy with the first surgery he did, so, I definitely wanted him to be my surgeon for the second surgery, too. I did have a problem, with the second surgery, but, it was not anything Dr. Gausewitz did. I'm glad he was there. He does a nice job with the suturing, too. So, if you want an excellent orthopedic surgeon, go with Dr. Gausewitz.

The calmness and ease the doctor has with his patients. He puts everyone around him in a relaxed mood. His appointments ran pretty well, there is no memory of an absolute horrible wait, but there was always a slight wait. He staff is friendly and ready to assist you in anything. Smiles are everywhere

Dr. Gausewitz has done my surgery with very limited incisions and pain. I was very concerned prior of my surgery but the entire program from the beginning of the scheduling the operation, the pre-opt class,instructions of getting my home ready and care taker education had helped me trmediously. Kudos to Dr.Gausewitz and entire staff

He is an absolute wonderful Dr. He has done both my left and right knee replacements. Hoag Orthopedic Institute is a wonderful facility, the staff is awesome as well.

Dr. Gausewitz replaced my left knee w/no complications. He also did my right knee 8 years ago. I needed physical therapy but couldn't afford my co-pay. Dr. Gausewitz took his wallet out & gave me the $ I needed.

Skilled operation made for speedy recovery

Dr. Gausewitz did an outstanding job and communicated with me throughout the process. My knee came out very solid and my flexibility was excellent.

Most pleasant person whom has the magic touch (his skill level is the best). He made me feel very much at ease with the operation and it went perfect! I am recovering without any problems and all is well!

Dr is knowledgeable, professional and does not rush patients into surgery. He evaluates each case individually and on its merits.

Dr. Gausewitz is great!! He recently performed my right hip replacement and previously performed my left hip replacement. He is very aware that I ride and jump horses and realizes and mentions my ability to ride again as a very important goal and I wanted hips for very active people!! He is happy to answer any questions or concerns I have had and is happy to spend whatever time I need talking to him. Both of my replacements have been an excellent experience due to not only Dr. Gausewitz being a terrific doctor but also his whole orthopedic surgery team is fantastic. I recommend him to anyone considering hip or knee replacement!!

Love Dr. Gausewitz! Just had knee replacement surgery in May, his surgery skills are amazing! He's willing to answer your questions, makes sure you know what to expect after the surgery. Yes, you might have a short wait in his office but the trade-off is well worth it!! His office staff is very nice and accomodating and I have to give a special shout out to his scheduler, Debi. She was so wonderful to me, I had never stayed in a hospital or had this kind of surgery before and I had a ton of questions regrding the hospital, rehab and disability. She either answered or directed me to the answers and was available to me for questions even after the surgery.

I first saw Dr. Gausewitz several years ago for a torn minuscus which he repaired with arthroscopic surgery. He told me at the time I would be back in my sixties for knee replacement because my knee was in bad shape after years of teaching high impact aerobics and jogging. I laughed and told him I expected that but in my eighties! I went back to him in my early sixties after years of attempting to hold onto my own knee. He is an understanding doctor who listens and cares about his patients. No question or questions are silly or too many. He takes time to explain the procedure to you and is an excellent, skilled, experienced surgeon. I researched for 2 years prior to returning just to make sure I had the best surgeon in Dr. Gausewitz. I am now 6 months post-op and love my new knee! I worked very hard to rehab my knee with physical therapy and exercising and was very glad Dr. Gausewitz was my team leader!
