I was sent to Dr Spellman last year by my Primary Care Doctor (Jason Browder).. This was my 2nd visit to his office.. All my concerns about my Eyes & contact concerns were handled professionally .. I have astigmatism in my left eye.. Dr Spellman will be my Only Eyecare Specialist.

I saw Dr. Spellman for cataract surgery. He and the staff were professional and courteous. I never felt rushed. Dr Spellman operated on both of my eyes to remove cataracts. The pre-op was very good, with thorough explanations of the procedure and answers to my questions. The operating facility was very clean, the personnel very courteous, and the laser procedure was quick. His operating team, to include the pre-op, the Anthis Elohist, the nurses, and the assistants, as well as the post-op team were courteous and professional at all times. I highly recommend Dr Spellman and his team to anyone needing Ophthalmology care.

I had been wearing glasses since 5th grade and dealing with infantile cataracts and sever astigmatism for decades. This year, at age 63, Dr. Spellman removed the clouding lenses and replacement them with Toric corrective lenses. My vision is now 20/25 in both eyes! I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Dr. Spellman, his staff, and the surgery center were very professional and caring about my experience leading up to, during, and following this procedure. I am very appreciative of Dr. Spellman and his staff for both their professional courtesy and medical expertise. Having relocated back to Hampton in mid-November, I was having trouble with my eyes. A family member suggested Dr. Spellman. When I contacted the office, I spoke to Lianne who explained that they were making appointments 3 to 4 months out: I explained my situation and much to my surprise she found an opening for me to be seen in three weeks. That meant the world to me: she listened, cared and helped to find a solution. At the office visit, I found that the entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Spellman was easy going, experienced and solutions oriented. Cataracts were the diagnosis. Surgery was the solution. Every person at the surgical center was also professionally courteous and knowledgeable. The step by step surgical process was explained clearly and repeatedly if necessary. Overall, the entire experience was top notch! My suggestions for improvement are: describe (at the office) the details of the total (both eyes) process in detail, to include the requirement to return the following morning after surgery and the timeline for any other follow up, plus, make clear (for the financially distraught) the total cost of each lens and procedural options. Good service can’t be taken for granted these days! In Dr. Spellman’s practice, you will find excellent technical expertise and outstanding customer service!

My wife has been seeing Dr. Spellman for years. When I discovered I had cataracts, she suggested I see him. I am very thankful that I followed her advice. Dr. Spellman is very professional and yet easy to talk to. He takes the time to answer all of your questions. He removed both of my cataracsk in just over a 2 week period. The surgery was flawless and I now see better than I can ever remember. His staff is courteous, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend him!

I came to Dr. Spellman over 20 years ago for cataract surgery, and stayed with the practice. I have always had consistently good care. The staff is the best! I have ingrown eyelashes, that become painful when the lashes grow near the cornea. When I call the office, they understand the issue and make every effort to fit me in the same day or soon after. And Danette is the best tweezer-squeezer ever! I would never go anywhere else. Ramona White
