Dr. Smith is kind, caring, personable, professional. He listened to my concerns & addressed each one. I never felt rushed...he wanted what was best for me.

I have multiple health issues & he is well versed in everything. He is not one who races to do surgery- he looks at other facets & then gives real expectations to the options. He is very kid

I have been a patient of Dr. Stuart Smith for almost 14 years. I was born with a dislocated hip. I had surgeries at a young age but it was not successful. I sought various orthopedics to correct my condition. Dr. Smith was the first and only orthopedic that said he could help me with a total hip replacement which I had at 41 yrs old and still doing great at 55 yrs old. Since the surgery, my gait is without a limp and without pain. I am forever grateful to Dr. Smith.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Dr. Smith that he felt I was a better candidate for a knee gel injection instead of knee replacement at this time. I really appreciate a doctor that's not in a big hurry to do surgery.

I can not say enough about Dr Stuart Smith and his staff. I am 71 years old and had double knee replacement. At day 22, I have no swelling, climb stairs and have no walker or assistance. It has been a journey but I would do it again. You have to follow Dr Smith directions. Therapy is brutal but necessary. Yes, there was pain as is expected. I agree that the entire process from diagnosis, to hospital, home and followup has run like a well oiled machine. Thank you Dr Smith. TOA staff and St Thomas Mid Town for making my surgery experience acceptable and recommendable.

Have had significant issues with both knees from 20 years of US Army-Infantry training. Dr. Smith was able to clean up one knee while replacing the other. Would recommend him above any other knee surgeons. Trusted him to do work that I didn’t trust the VA to do. Nice guy, competent surgeon, satisfied patient.

Loved the staff and their efficiency. Dr. Stuart Smith is Great! I just can NOT say enough good about Dr Smith and his staff. I’m 64 years old, I had a double knee replacement. It wasn’t fun for sure, however, it was done masterfully well, no long suffering, they work well with you to control pain.and move fast to get you through the healing process. Within three weeks, my knees feel like new!! I am still a bit weak, but they feel nearly healed! And I’m already back to driving. I’m just amazed at how fast I healed, and I know it was due to a well skilled surgeon and the steps he and his staff take to keep it a safe and pristine surgery experience. If you will follow everything they tell you, you will not believe the difference from day one of surgery and day 21, just amazing. ?? I’m walking again, no pain!!!! Now I have to say, PT is a must, and it’s not fun, but it’s so much a part of your healing. TOA is run like a well oiled machine. Very thorough , very organized. I thought I’d never walk straight or without pain again but Dr. Smith replaced hip and both knees. He knows what he’s doing and has a nice bedside manor. He did hip replacement on my mother in law and other friends. I’ve never heard a negative word about him.

I received two partial knee replacements in 2018. Dr. Smith is the best of the best.

Dr Smith, has such a calming effect on a patient, he always puts the patient first. I was walking w/a cane and hurting in my hip so badly. After telling me what he thought was wrong & since I had no arthritis in my hip which was great news for me. I had bursitis in my hip area & he gave me a shot in the right hip where it would feel better in 2 days. I look forward to not hurting so bad as I was before seeing Dr Smith. I have been seeing Dr Smith since 2001. I had a partial left knee replacement in 2001. So, Dr Smith has been my doctor for sometime.

Love Dr Smith. Had some unusual circumstances around my hip replacement. He never doubted my symptoms and offered me advice and encouragement. Had a hard recovery but he was super helpful as was Doreen, his nurse. Recommend him 100%.

I have had both of my knees replaced by Dr Smith and I am very pleased. I have had no problems and after recovering from the surgery I have been able to enjoy a normal active life.

My visit was good. Staff was prompt & efficient. Since my problem is chronic ( Bursitis/left hip), I was seen immediately. Dr. Smith gets a short but relevant history, & proceeds with the necessary treatment. I had instant relief, even before exiting table.
