Introduction and ExperienceTheodore C. Friedman, M.D., Ph.D., founded Dr. Friedman’s Endocrinology Clinic in 2000 and went to telemedicine with the pandemic in 2020. He now sees patients both via telemedicine and in person at his Beverly Hills clinic. His practice focuses on treating patients with hard-to-treat adrenal, pituitary, thyroid, and fatigue disorders. With privileges at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Martin Luther King, Jr. Outpatient Center, where he is the lead endocrinologist and director of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Diabetes/Endocrinology Workgroup, Dr. Friedman is recognized for his 30-year expertise in detecting and treating hormone imbalances, including hormone replacement therapy, PCOS, and adrenal and thyroid disorders. Additionally, he is renowned for his specialization in diagnosing and treating pituitary disorders. Dr. Friedman was trained in the famous Cushing’s ward at the NIH in the 1990s and has diagnosed more than 2000 patients
with Cushing’s disease, possibly more than any other Endocrinologist in the country. Dr. Friedman is a Professor of Medicine-In-Residence Series, Step VI at UCLA and Professor of Internal Medicine-Career Academic Series, Step VI at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science, where he is Endowed Professorship for Cardio-Metabolic Medicine and was Professor of the Year in 2013. He was trained as a Champion Provider to Prevent Obesity at UCSF and is on the Medical Advisory Board of EmpowHer, women’s Health. He was recognized for his contribution to the Magic Foundation where he frequently speaks at their annual convention.Dr. Friedman has published more than 140 peer-reviewed publications related to Endocrinology and received over 30 NIH and other grants.
