Dr. Thomas Francis Johnson, MD

For many years I had only routine visits that were handled by his knowledgeable and caring staff of nurse practitioners. I always liked that I could book an appointment for the next day. However, when I became sick with a difficult illness Dr. Johnson himself took a personal interest and showed himself to be extremely knowledgeable way beyond his allergy specialty. He didn’t have reservations to perform many necessary tests and then set me up with the specialists I needed. His office has much of the equipment, x-ray, CT scan, bone density machine, and blood drawing facility, so you don’t have to go to another place for these tests. Like others have complained, he does get backed up at times. I’m sure that that is because someone else is receiving extra attention that wasn’t scheduled. Today in his office, that was me. If you are concerned about waiting, then book an appointment early in the morning.

Very rude staff. Wait time is ridiculous.. Only see a Physician Assistant... Unless u ask to see him and the wait time is longer.. I knew from day one it was a huge mistake...

SOME OF THE STAFF NEED TO BE ON THE SAME PAGE. MORE OF HALF THE TIME WHEN IN GO THERE THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THE SEEM TO BE IN A DAZE AND OR LOST.

I was a patient of Dr. Johnson for more than 5 years. I kept wanting to find a new primary care doctor but because he was both an allergist and primary doctor I stayed out of convenience. I think in the 5 years I saw him once but saw a multitude of support staff. He has a revolving staff of NP's and RN's. There are more medical assistants in there than anything else. The office staff is down right rude and mean there is no other way of saying it. After one particularly tough visit which ended with me being told after waiting an hour and a half in a room that I would need to go to the ER, I complained to the doctor personally at my next visit but nothing has changed. At my annual physical I was sent out into the hallway with a cup and told to walk through the waiting room with a urine sample. No bag or any type of privacy was provided. I have had to constantly call in for test results only to be sent to voicemails never to have calls returned. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and have since left the practice.

Dr Johnson and his staff went above and beyond to take me as a new patient, scheduled immediate appointment, completed testing and treatment expediently. Highly recommend this medical practice.

wait time is over 3 hrs WAY TO LONG..THEY seen to think it Allright to over over book patients ..like our time is not important

Worst Doctor Ever!!!!!

Dr. Johnson is a truly dedicated doctor. I am always able to get an appointment, even if it is at the last minute. I know Dr. Johnson is really interested in my being healthy. He has the very latest equipment to help me with my asthma and sinus problems. He will answer any questions I have on line or in person. Dr. Johnson is an excellent listener. The asthma plan he has made for me works very well. I am very blessed to have a professional like Dr. Johnson as my physician.

Made and appointment with Dr. Johnson and it was changed to his physician assistant. I was never told. I waited for almost an hr in the waiting room with only 1 other person that was taken as soon as he arrived. The Nurse assistant the took my vitals was nice. The entire place is very old and run down. The call system is something from the 50s with push button lights. The office staff only said that they liked people with my insurance. I didn't want allergy testing because I was switching from my Boston MD to local. I had my records and knew my allergies. They said it was required by insurance. I did the testing and was told I was allergic by several other things that I never tested positive for in 15 years of seeing my Boston allergist but I don't have any signs of being allergic to Lima Beans, Orchards, some strange grass and trees. Funny that my allergy to cats (which is severe) and pollen didn't show up in this testing. They told me blood work would be needed to tell them the depth of the allergy????? Not going back. According to them I'm not allergic to what I've been treated for over the past 15 years and is under control? I just need to transfer to a local doc now that I moved. Bye bye Johnson..... Don't go to this office people

Although the staff is very skilled, it's not managed correctly, so every office visit is just horrible. No one ever knows what is what, it's like pulling teeth to get them to do what they are suppose to, like fax something somewhere. You always end up there for at least 3 hours for visits in Andover. You ask 3 people something, I would say you'd get 3 different answers, but you usually don't get one. I FULLY regret starting there. You as the patient do no matter what so ever. Shot visits are pretty quick and easy and lots of locations.

Been a patient for several years and it is always the same, one big assembly line. I was prescribed serevent for several years. Found out by another doctor that serevent had a black box warning on it and should only be taken in conjunction with another medication because some people who have only taken serevent died from it. Obviously this doctor does not pay attention to medical updates or his patients. To busy fitting in as many patients as possible in a day.

After not making appt for 2 years because I was unhappy about the office, I tried to get my records sent to a new allergist. Woman at the desk told me that "my testing is from 2009 and not at her fingertips so she cant get them for me. Sorry." And then she hung up. I understand that they are busy but they were not personable at all and just hurried you along. Would not recommend.

After many visits to internists, a pulmonary specialists, several trips to a local ER and one very hairy drive to a Boston ER, frustrated and exhausted and terrified as no one had any good explanation as to why I was I could not breath I finally remember I had seen Dr. Johnson 15 year prior. From the first day I called his office I was treated with compassion, respect and dignity. Within 10 days I finally had answers...to questions that had been plaguing me for approximately 6 months. As I thanked Dr. Johnson , I explained to him that while I very much appreciated his staff apologizing for any wait time I never minded waiting for a good Doc....

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, the doctor is NOT professional and neither is the staff, I have never written a review on anything in my life but people need to know how bad this DR is. Never returns calls, makes you wait for your apppintment 1 hr then I asked what was the wait- I was told they went into a meeting and had to wait even longer. I would rather an allergic reaction then go back there again

Not worth your time,The practice spends more time on marketing material & literature on the doctor than time on the patients. The dr gave me a steroid shot which caused a side effect that same night for my condition that I ended up correcting myself. There are plenty of allergists out there to select from.

very long wait time for an office visit. minimum of one hour. after an office visit I called a few days later to change anitibiotic: called two times to make sure another visit wasn't necessary. 7 hours later they responded that I needed to return for a visit after I was home all day an called two times. They said it took 7 hours to let me know because they were busy and that was all they could do.

I had been a patient of this practice for well over 15 years. I relocated to Arizona and have not been able to find a physician as competent as Dr. JOhnson since I left. I have lived in AZ for 6 years and have been to three different doctor's so far. Still haven't found anyone that I feel as comfortable with. He is very thorough and always seems to know exactly what is wrong with me. Even though I would have long wait times, his office is able to do x-rays, ekg's, draw your blood, and perform pft's. These are things that not all doctor's provide. It cuts down on the time that you have to spend ill, because he is working on a diagnosis from the moment you walk in. He is not going to coddle you and talk about gardening or anything else. He is concise and to the point and will give you what he feels is your diagnosis, but then send you for further testing to rule out anything serious. I miss their office very much. He always had the correct diagnosis for me, and my health was never better. Unfortunately I have not met anyone like him out here. Still searching.

Over prescribed the allergen (shots) for my child, waited over 1 1/2 hours for follow up, left without seeing anyone after paid in full

This doctor has no regard for his patient and the patient's time. You wait hours, and I mean hours to see the doctor. It is deplorable. They make you pay for the appt ahead of time so they get their money and then make you wait so long that you end up leaving. I would recommend that you DO NOT use this doctor!

First off, the wait times in his office are beyond ridiculous. They overbook quite a bit and it is not beyond reason to by waiting for over 2 hours in the waiting room. The staff and the nurses are very courteous and friendly and genuinely feel bad. Both my wife and myself were mis-prescribed antibiotics on many occasions and both of us ended up in the hospital once because of this. We went to him for 5 years and finally got fed up and sought a new doctor.
