Dr. Thomas Shannon Anderson, MD

I went to see Dr. Anderson after seeing two neurosurgeons where I live in Myrtle Beach. The neurosurgeon in myrtle beach said there was nothing they could do even though the MRI showed bulging discs in my thoracic spine. I brought the results of my MRI to Dr. Anderson and he told me that he didn't trust the radiologist report and he had to see the MRI results himself. So he had an MRI done that day ( which I thought showed some promise). The MRI confirmed the previous MRI. Dr. Anderson suggested a steroid shot ( I had already had 3 shots which did nothing) so I got the shot. Big suprise it didn't work. I have been in terrible pain for 2 years and have done everything Drs have suggested. Shots, physical therapy, topical cream ( a joke) and chiropractic. So what did Dr. Anderson say he could do for me? Nothing!! I don't know if Dr. Anderson doesn't believe the pain I am in or he doesn't care. Neither one is good.

Dr Anderson is always a great person to talk with about my surgery and its progress. Today he took my staples out and checked for the healing. I was ever so excited to have the staples out! Twelve years ago he replaced a crushed disc in my neck. The crushed disc caused excruciating pain!! Dr Anderson became my savior as a surgeon! I will always travel to see him now that he is in Mt Pleasant.

first class is how I would sum up the entire process…the evaluation, administrative, surgery and my favorite pt were all top notch and helped guide me through this life changing injury…well done and hats off to all @ SES…forever thankful! patrick

Today was my first time meeting Dr Anderson. My appointment went very well. We talked about different options. I was dealing with pain for several months. We decided to go with the surgery. Lord, I need this relief . I know I'm in good hands with Dr Anderson.

I had one appointment and a follow up video conference appointment with Dr Anderson….tremendous attention to my concerns and very kind and compassionate. Offered me options for my issue and took time to answer all my questions. Very happy with him!

Dr. Anderson and his team have provided excellent cafe for my degenerative spine condition. They had me take the appropriate tests to diagnose my condition and then we tried a non surgical injection which was not effective. He fully explained all the options and he performed surgery on 11/2/2023. This surgery has fully relieved all my symptoms and I am now in recovery.

Dr Anderson is very knowledgeable and patiently explained what could be done. to correct my herniated disc. He listened to my questions and help alleviate my concerns. I look forward to being free of this pain. I pray that his experience , his steady hand, along with the guidance of my Lord will provide a way for this medical miracle to happen! Dr. Anderson is great! He is very thorough, easy to understand and takes his time with each patient. He is also honest and upfront with you. He makes you feel at ease. Would recommend Dr. Anderson to anyone having back issues!

started having back trouble 3-4 weeks ago and was in severe pain was not able to work. I went to Dr Anderson and explained the situation and from day 1 I got the impression he didn’t take me serious. Fast forward a few weeks later I finally got the MRI that was needed which I had to pay for out of pocket.. On the day I went to review with him it was a rushed appointment he didn’t listen to anything I had to say. He said oh I really thought the MRI would look worse never mind that I have a torn disc!! then he basically tells me I’m not in pain and that he wants to do an epidural on my back when I have time. He walks out of the room and does not come back.. unbelievable. He does not care in my opinion about patients if they can’t make him money. I was treated with complete disrespect and not listened to at all. Not everyone that comes into your office is a drug addict looking for pills I needed help..I am beyond frustrated…I’m a well respected professional engineer and sit on several trade and manufacturing boards for the state of SC I am beyond frustrated that a doctor could treat his patients this way. Either I’m the one case that he’s mishandled and all the reviews are true or he uses paid actors for his reviews.

Very patient and understanding. Dr. Anderson and staff thoroughly explained my problem and what my options were. There was no pressure to have surgery although I choose to have it and I could not be happier with the outcome. It has taken a lot of work on my part post surgery however. I am much healthier for it.

Dr. Anderson has a gift for systematically and successfully addressing what can be overwhelming spinal issues. He and his team are extremely attentive post surgery. They provide the patient with clear instructions for achieving their best possible recovery outcome.

I thought I had fractured a neck vertebra after having x-rays done somewhere else. Dr. Anderson had CT scan done and found only inflammation, He was thorough and listened to me. His staff was great.

Dr.Anderson was so very thorough in informing me of my problem and what was needed to correct. So interested in my feelings and concerns.
