Dr. Thomas Tingle, MD

Dr Tingle repaired a torn meniscus and some other damage he found during the procedure. I am very pleased with the results, as well as all the visits and communication between the procedure and my initial visit. The doctor, his nurse, his secretary, and the practice staff are all stellar. Should I have further ortho work in the future, I will definitely be going back to his practice!

I have visited this office and used Dr Kuchar and Dr Abraham and left 5 star reviews for both. Dr Tingle was somewhat arrogant and condescending making me wait over an hour on both my visits with no comment or apology for disrespecting my time. While reviewing my MRI with me, he used complex medical terms and jargon. I'm not a doctor, but I'm also not an idiot. His explanation of my "diagnosis' was woefully lacking. When I asked some questions, he suggested Googling. Did I just pay for that advice? Yeah. I did. Thousands of dollars actually. My husband worked with him 2 years ago and liked and recommended him to me. I would not recommend Dr Tingle. Ridiculous.

I have visited the practice and worked with both Dr Kuchar and Dr Abraham and gave both 5 star reviews. I'm surprised by the glowing reviews for Dr Tingle and my experience was not positive. He was somewhat arrogant and condescending making me wait close to an hour on both my visits with no comment or apology for disrespecting my time. Upon going over my MRI of my shoulder he used complex medical jargon and phrases. I may not be a doctor, but I'm not an idiot; I had no understanding of my "diagnosis". When I asked for some clarification, he commented I could check Google or talk to other physicians. Did I actually pay for that advice? Yeah. I did. Thousands of dollars worth actually. My husband worked with him a couple years ago and liked and recommended him to me. I did notice some of these 5 star reviews are a couple years old. Looks like I need to take my MRI results elsewhere and get someone to sit down and explain them to me. That's ridiculous. I did Google (as Tingle suggested), but I think I need a more comprehensive explanation. Won't be back to this doctor. What a pathetic waste of time and money!

Dr. Tingle and his team have some of the best bedside manner I have ever experienced. He is not only a talented and skilled surgeon, his follow up and treatment is excellent. I have had him perform TWO of my surgeries and have had yearly visits with him since, and I ALWAYS have a good experience. The worst thing that has happened since her performed my first surgery 10 years ago was that I had to wait an extra 1/2 hour due to an emergency surgery he had to attend to- ONCE. I like the staff as well; they are both helpful and warm people.

Beyond excellent patient care

My experience with Dr. Thomas Tingle and his secretary, Genie could not have gone smoother. Genie took complete responsibility of the forms my adjuster needed to see and other applications I had to submit to the Illinois Workers Compensation. She fought incredibly hard for my case and was also able to get my physical therapy approved. A week before my knee surgery I called almost every day with new questions and she answered them with the utmost patience and understanding. I felt completely at ease before the surgery because she wasn’t forgetting a single detail. On the day of the surgery, the staff of the Northwest Surgical Center, which was located at 1100 West Central Road in Arlington Heights, was extremely kind and helpful. They reassured me multiple times of the easiness of the surgery and thoroughly explained the procedure to my family and me. I give the highest recommendation to Dr. Tingle and his staff to anyone in need of orthopedic care because you will be in the best hands.

With bad arthritis, deteriorating cartilage, and an auto-immune condition that results in flare ups of unbearable inflammation, I have been going to Dr. Tingle for help for years. I was referred to him by a friend whose two children had successful surgeries following athletic injuries. He is supremely skilled yet very warm and sympathetic. I appreciate that he has worked with me to manage my pain and improve my condition instead of just prescribing stronger medications. Two years after first seeing him, I required surgery. I went in with the utmost confidence that Dr. Tingle would fix the problem and provide attentive care after - which he did. His schedule is tight but he will stay late or come in early to help his patients who are suffering. I think he is an excellent, compassionate doctor. Genie and the rest of the staff have always treated me with kindness and respect, as well. Love that new office, right next door to physical therapy, too.

He takes the time to answer all the questions you have.

Very professional & knowledgeable with excellent bedside manner. He took time to explain my condition and treatment options. He answered all my questions and accurately described my surgery / rehab time. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic treatment / surgery. My surgery/recovery was very successful, and the office/clinical staff are very professional. My office visits had very minimal wait time.

I had a knee injury at work, it was Illinois Workman Compensation Case. You know how hard that can be. But Doctor Tingle and his Office Assistance Genie took all the calls, pressure and heat from my work attorneys. They put them in there place and never let me feeling any of the head aches and hoops to jump that Companies put there employees through. I had the knee surgery with Dr. Tingle, then Physical Therapy at his Northwest Therapy group located next to his office. Everything went Perfect.

I actually switched surgeons because he was so great at the consultation. I see him for upkeep appointments and he and his staff are always fantastic. Worst part may be the extra waiting, but it can't be helped if a surgery goes long and there is free WIFI. On the upside of that- I had emergency swelling once and they came in extra extra early to open the office just for me. Best doctor I've ever worked with.

Exceptional communicator, outstanding follow up therapy staff

Dr. Tingle is also one of the best doctors who I highly recommend thanks to the referral by Dr. Kachar. I had surgery done on my damaged right shoulder last year; and Dr. Tingle performed an outstanding job, especially by providing the necessary care and rehabilitation needed in getting my shoulder back to healing well. Good doctors are hard to come by, and if you are looking for a great orthopedic surgeon for the shoulder who is easy to talk to, cares, listens, very efficient and reliable, understanding, honest, professional, compassionate, and puts his patients first. I strongly recommend Dr. Tingle!

Dr Tingle was recommended by another medical provider to address my knee issues. He spent more time with me than other orthopedics I interviewed, made a thorough diagnosis, and did a superb job reparing my knee. My pain level was minimal and I was able to start on my road to recovery within just a few days of my surgery. I have returned to my athletic lifestyle much more quickly than I imagined. My experience with Dr Tingle and his staff was a good one and I would not hesitate to recommend him to family or friends.

Dr. Tingle is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. He has done surgery on my husband and has seen my children as well. Dr. Tingle has great bedside manner and takes time to answer all of my questions. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field of practice and I would highly recommend him.
