Dr. Thomas Walter Lawhorne, MD

In my humble opinion Dr. Lawhorne is a very good doctor. He takes a personal interest in his patients which is evidenced by my personal experience when visiting his office. He is candid and clear of his intentions of treatment and treated me with courtesy and respect. He seems to be a man who follows his conscience conscious which is evidenced by his willingness to go above and beyond by making sure he is doing a thorough job to take care of me as his patient. The office staff is amazing! But will not be going back to see Dr. Lawhorne. He made me feel as if I was a burden to him and that my diagnosis was not important. I have never walked out of a Dr.’s office so disappointed and hurt by the way I was treated until his visit.

Had appointment in Statesboro office and was pleased at the short wait. Dr Lawhorn had me comfortable at the beginning and I was able to explain my conditions with ease.??

Dr. Lawhorne lacks a positive bedside manner. Another patient stated he is a terrible person, I cannot argue with that comment. I spent about five minutes with him; he dismissed me and charged my insurance a lot of money for the brief negative interaction. He was abrupt and arrogant. I was so disappointed with him. He needs to take a lesson from Dr. Poole, and Dr. Barnes who are not only skilled, they are kind to their patients and treat them with respect. Pomposity is not appreciated.

We took our son to dr Lawhorn who had a ruptured disc. He said he could fix it, but his office staff failed to submit it to insurance to be approved for three days. When you call you get a voicemail saying they will get back to you. We had to always call them. After yanking us around for 4 weeks they tell us that they don’t think they can do surgery. (I am sure because we were putting pressure on them. A horrible group to work with. His drs offices obviously don’t communicate with each other. Not only does he have a ruptured disc, it is pushing into his spinal column. Oh and the place they sent us to to have mri not only charged us $500 out of pocket, it was such a poor quality that another Dr could not even see it. A horrible practice.
