Dr. Banka gave me my options and when I was ready, he got me scheduled and in for surgery. The relief I experienced following surgery was more than I expeccted. He always made me feel that he was checked in and knew which patient he was seeing when he came in the room. (Not something I experience with a lot of doctors.)

Before my hip replacement I was in so much pain I could barely get in and out of the car. Even using the cane was not helping the pain. After I woke up from surgery, I was so surprised that I was in no pain at all. After I was fully awake, I went to the rest room twice and I was walking so fast the nurse told my husband she had to ask me to slow down. My pain level has never gotten over 2 unless I over did my walking outside. It is six months later I am in no pain at all. I don’t even have a limp. Dr. Banka gave me quality of life back. I can walk and dance again! Thank you so much!

Dr. Banka replaced my hip. I was told by 2 other surgeons in the Detroit area that I was not a good candidate for hip replacement because I had a hip deformity from childhood. Dr. Banka took on my case and did an excellent job. My pain was gone when I woke up from surgery and I never had any pain after the surgery. I never took pain medications because I didn't need them. Dr. Banka is an exceptional doctor.

Dr. Banka is thorough, and speaks in terms you can understand. He is considerate and his staff is great. Would highly recommend him.

I saw Dr. Banka for knee arthritis. I had seen three other surgeons in the system and felt like I was being shuffled around. I found Dr. Banka through my own research. Dr. Banka sat down and listened to what I had to say. He explained what arthritis is and how it effected my knee. Dr. Banka clearly explained my treatment options and we formed a plan. I had seen many orthopedic surgeons at multiple hospital systems in Detroit, Cleveland, and Mayo Clinic. All the surgeons told me I "HAD to HAVE" a knee replacement but none took the time to explain why. Dr. Banka listened to me, asked how the knee pain affected my life, and took the time to explain my condition. He is laid back, but not aloof, confident but not arrogant. He treated me like a person and a friend. He told me I didn't "HAVE to HAVE" a knee replacement but I was a candidate and went over all the treatment options both surgical and nonsurgical. I decided to have a knee replacement and Dr. Banka replaced my knee with robotic assistance. Now, 2 weeks later, I'm walking 15,000 steps every day without pain or swelling. I cannot recommend Dr. Banka enough.

I was very nervous about the pain in my hip and the surgery that I would need. Dr Banka took the time to listen to me, answer all my questions, show me on my xray where my problem was and how the surgery would go. He put me at ease. I have totally recovered and would recommend him to anyone who requires surgery. His after surgery follow up was very nice and appreciated.

Dr. Banka replaced my left knee. He is on the cutting edge of technology and used robotic assistance during the procedure. I never had pain after surgery and was able to do all the therapy in the hospital and at home and only took Tylenol for an occasional discomfort. I had a great experience and I am now sending all my golf buddies to him, and they too have had the same experience.

Dr. B replaced both of my knees. He took an exceptional amount of time to explain my condition and allow me to ask all my questions.

I had my knee replaced by another surgeon and continued to have pain. The orthopaedic surgeon who replaced my knee was not sure why I still had pain. This surgeon said he sent his mother to Dr. Banka to have her knees replaced. I had to drive over 200 miles to see Dr. Banka from my home in northern Michigan but it was worth it. Dr. Banka was able to figure out what was wrong with my knee and fix the problem. It was well worth the trip.

I felt comfortable and confident Dr. Banka was the right doctor for me at my first appt. He's caring and it shows from the first office visit, surgery and that great 4 week checkup. I'm so grateful!
