Dr. Tristan E Bickman

I seriously wish I had read the reviews before coming here. If you want to be a patient here, you better have some BIG pockets and a lot of time on your hands. Expect fee after fee at this place, and LONG wait times. I’ve waited for more than an hour before to see Dr. Bickman. Be prepared to pay the $360 annual fee ($180 if you only plan to visit once a year) and a fee for every lab. Ask questions because they won’t tell you about the fees until you’re ready to check-out. Dr. Bickman is very friendly and I’m sure very talented, but you don’t get a lot of face time with her—everyone at this office always seems rushed and on edge. Can’t emphasize enough how bad all the fees are. I just walked out of my appointment out of pocket $45 for a culture fee that no one told me about. Cherry on top is that parking is a nightmare at this location.

She is a scam artist. Extremely unethical and extremely poor quality of care. Run away as fast as you can!

TLDR; rude, unprofessional, shady, and unless you can pay $360 out of pocket on TOP of copay, go elsewhere. I was extremely disappointed with how things were handled at Dr. Bickman’s office. When I arrived for my appointment (which was just go over test results), they let me know that in order to go in or even SPEAK to the doctor, I had to pay $360 out of pocket as part of the new “patient fees”. They did not inform me of this when I made the appointment or when I decided to be a patient. I told them that as a recent college grad, I couldn’t afford to pay the (in my opinion, absurdly high) fees, and they told me to take my care elsewhere. On top of this, Dr. Bickman was extremely rude to me. I felt very rushed and belittled by her. She disregarded my health concerns, and I left the office angry and upset. You are better off finding a doctor that isn’t going to charge insane fees for subpar care.

0/5 stars and I am taking the time to review her negatively on every platform I can today in hopes I help another mom avoid a terrible experience. Dr Bickman and her office staff are the worst I have EVER worked with in my entire life. This is my second pregnancy so I have enough experience to know the way she operates her office is super subpar and not normal. Shameful and sad to put this much stress on a 5 month pregnant person. Her office is a scam, they charge crazy out of pocket expenses for no reason since I can never actually get a hold of her, her office staff refuses to release my medical records to my new provider, they put me on 25+ minute holds on the phone, and I have NEVER received a response to any of my emails. Anytime I ask for my records the office staff ask me to email the doctor, but the doctor never responds to the emails!! Her office is dirty too and office staff are rude. I Will never recommend her and I will never step foot in her office again. I would rather birth my baby myself thank you very much.

She is the worst doctor I have ever been to, as she does not care about her patients. Just her money. I would avoid this practice at all costs, considering your money will be taken away anyways as they overcharge for everything. Keep in mind, you'll find out about the $360 administration fee after your first appointment.

I've seen this doctor several times since my first appointment in Feb so this review comes after several interactions with the doctor and her staff. My main frustration has been the poor communication and overall lack of empathy. I'm in the process of going through my first really big health scare and after multiple visits with the doctor, it was discovered I would need to have surgery. During my visits, I've had ultrasounds, given cultures and was even told to get additional ultrasounds & an MRI from other doctors. After every test, I had to call the office to get the results. and I'm starting to doubt they would have ever called me if I didn't initiate the communication. More recently, the doctor told me to get a Pelvic MRI to get better imagining. I sent the results to her 3 weeks ago and I have yet to hear anything from her or her office about what was discovered. Meanwhile, I'm experiencing some of the worse symptoms of my life. Frustrated with the service, I decided to see another doctor, and of course, I needed my medical records. It's been 3 weeks since my request and it still hasn't happened. I've talked to the office several times and was assured several times that my records were sent. After 2 weeks of this run-around, they finally confessed to having a broken fax/scanner. I understand that these things happen and I have been so patient, I have even rescheduled 2x with my new doctor as I wait for my medical records to be sent. But after today's call, I've reached my limit. They had a new scanner installed yesterday and told me my records would be sent right away - of course, this didn't happen. So I call today, and it's like they are receiving my request for the first time again. There is no record of my request, I had to give them the new fax number for the 5th time at least. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel like it's my only recourse. I think the doctor is great but her office is clearly overwhelmed and I can't help but feel that if I weren't a black woman I would have been treated differently.

Do not go here. Dr. Tristan Bickman has no respect for her patients. I've seen her twice and both times had a bad experience. The first time she made me wait 1 hour for my appointment, and then saw me for 10 minutes and that was it. The second time I went to her office, I was informed that she was also running at least 1 hour behind, so I told them I couldn't stay and left--a woman, one of her patients, followed me outside and vented to me that she was so frustrated with Dr. Bickman also, because it was like that every time she went there. I went back the next day and finally had my appointment, after waiting for at least 30 minutes. This was two weeks ago. She did a culture and I STILL didn't get the results back. I called her office when it had been 1 week and they told me they'd get back to me and never did. It's completely absurd. I also requested an IUD and I still haven't heard anything about it. Overall a really bad experience. I will not be returning.

I feel so lucky to have found Dr Bickman. I started seeing her right out of college when I moved to LA and she has really become a part of my family. My husband started coming to my appointments when I got pregnant and he loves her as much as I do! She delivered our first baby last year and we could not have been more thrilled with the experience. She’s calming and so easy to talk to and really helped us through the entire process. She gives each patient her full attention and makes you feel like you are in the best hands (and you are!) I can’t recommend her more highly.

Tristan was unbelievable rude. This doctor laughed when I had questions. She never responded to follow up. I do not recommend this doctor even for the easiest of births

Beautiful office in a great location of Santa Monica. The care from Dr. Bickamn and staff always exceeds expectations, making sure I feel comfortable and all my questions are answered. I enjoy coming to every visit knowing I have the best care

I was relatively new to LA and did not have an OBGYN when I discovered I was pregnant with my second child. I had had a very rough delivery with my first child that almost cost me and my son our lives, so that, coupled with a recent trip to Brazil and Zika exposure, I was in a bit of a panic over my newly discovered pregnancy. I was referred to Dr. Bickman by a friend of mine and she was a godsend. Dr. Bickman agreed to see me the very next day after I called her office. She reviewed my previous medical history and walked me through all of the reasons that this pregnancy and delivery would be different than the first. Additionally, she had both my husband and I immediately tested for Zika. After the first appointment, I knew I was in good hands. I had to have a scheduled c-section due to the nature of my first delivery, and Dr. Bickman and her team accommodated me changing the delivery date a couple of times. When I went into labor (ahead of my scheduled date, of course), Dr. Bickman was at the hospital within minutes to see me and prep for the surgery. The surgery went exactly according to plan and the recovery was easy. I could not have been happier with how things played out. I see quite a few reviews on here about wait times in her office, and while sometimes there can be quite a wait, it is worth it. My first delivery was at a practice with a team of OBGYN's and when I went into labor, my doctor was not on call and was not there to deliver my son. One of her team members was the one who delivered him and after the traumatic experience and other necessary medical procedures, I still had not seen my doctor. Dr. Bickman delivers all of her own patients and when you're going through something as intense as childbirth, you want your doctor there with you. As a patient, sometimes you have to make the sacrifice and wait in her office while she is delivering for another one of her patients. My experience with her has made me emotionally prepared for another pregnancy, something I didn't think was possible after the first.

Dr. Bickman goes above and beyond to make each visit one to remember, very informative, will answer any questions one has, As well as builds a relationship with you one on one, it’s truly a comforting feeling finding a Dr. this caring towards her patients. I’m lucky I found her

Dr. Bickman is by far the best OBGYN I've ever had. I started seeing her half way through a high risk pregnancy, and she missed no steps and just jumped right in, being helpful and caring in every way. She delivered our son via c-section with no issues whatsoever, even though it was high risk and a million things could have gone wrong. She always makes you feel like you are the most important patient, takes time with you and answers any questions you may have. I had to bring my other kids to a few appointments and she welcomed them and was so kind and accommodating. The specialist she referred me to worked really well with her for the surgery as well, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else in the OR with me! The entire office staff is extremely kind and accommodating as well. I wouldn't use anyone else!

I came to Dr. Bickman with severe menopause symptoms. I had to find a doctor that would take the time to address this new chapter in my life. I had been in a cycle of treatments from a prior doctor and I was getting worse. I was not even sure if it was hormones or what was happening. Increasing stress and fatigue was making it all worse. When I had my first visit with Dr. Bickman, I knew I found the right doctor for me. She understood immediately what I was going through. One step at a time we addressed each problem, we spoke of hormone and treatment options and a couple months later I’m 100% improved! She even followed up with emails to make sure I was feeling ok! Dr. Bickman has the ability to care and give the individual attention and time for both her younger OB patients and patients approaching menopause and during menopause. I witness this every time I visit the office. Thank you Dr. Bickman for providing care for every stage of a woman’s wellness ! Grateful!

I think Dr. Bickman is a wonderful doctor. She saw me through my first pregnancy and delivered my son. At every appointment she answered all of my questions and never once made me feel embarrassed for them. She was always pleasant and chatted with me before and after the exam. Thanks to her partnership with Dr. Tabsh I had two high-class doctors looking after me. At a regular check-up with Dr. Tabsh my son's heart rate dipped. He sent me up for monitoring in L&D. I was admitted and Dr. Bickman made sure to come see me and ease my worries. A few days later I developed preeclampsia and was induced. I am eternally grateful to both Dr. Tabsh and Dr. Bickman for monitoring my health so closely and catching what could have been a very bad situation. Dr. Bickman was the doctor I needed during my first delivery. I had to have a few more follow up visits with her after to check my blood pressure and she was always happy to see me and genuinely interested in how my son was doing. She made me feel a lot better about the crime scene that was healing down below. I did have to wait a long time for a few appointments, but I understood this was a possibility going in as she personally delivers all her patients' babies. It was worth it to me. Thank you Dr. Bickman!!

My number one primary doctor in the US!!! We met a year ago and she gave me the best treatment and treated me with at most care. She is super professional and thorough. I feel that I am in the best hands with Dr Bickman. She is always available on all mediums of communication, so if it's an urgent situation, you can count on her to replay fast. Thank god for Dr Bickman , She is a life saver.

I am honored to have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Bickman for the last 6 years. She has been me through my single years, my married years and now my postpartum years. From the emotional days of reaching my mid-30s and still being single, and her reassuring me of what my options were to freeze my eggs, to her with me every step of the way of what was a very difficult pregnancy and finally in what proved to be the toughest time was when I presented with postpartum preeclampsia and was re-hospitalized after the birth of my baby girl. Without Dr. Bickman's quick thinking and her nurses/office staff who were watching my blood pressure rise in the office, things could have potentially not worked out for me the way that they did. Her relationship with Dr. Tabsh is another huge benefit to seeing Dr. Bickman. The two of them together are described as the Dream Team, and I am so blessed that I had both of them by my side throughout my entire pregnancy, my scheduled c-section (baby was in Frank breach) and during my recovery from PP preeclampsia. Yes, as many people have commented, she runs an extremely busy office. I am also extremely busy as a VP of a media company. If I could make the scheduling work, anyone can make this scheduling work! And for the last 6 weeks, I saw Dr. Bickman, Dr. Tabsh AND had 2xs a week fetal heart monitoring. Yes- I was at the doctor 3-4xs a week for 1.5 months! You call ahead and you plan. I always had my laptop, a snack, whatever I needed with me. I even had to take a conference call during 1 of my exams and Dr. Bickman could not have been kinder about it! Sometimes when you want the best, you have the wait for the best. I truly believe that without Dr. Bickman and Dr. Tabsh's assistance, our baby girl would not have been born as healthy as she was and I potentially would not be alive today to write this review for this amazing doctor!

I would not have children if it wasn't for Dr. Bickman! There really are no words that capture my gratitude for her. She is a fantastic doctor and person. She gave me direct straight answers to all my questions around childbirth and conceiving. She was also kind and compassionate when things didn't work out on that bumpy road and I experienced a miscarriage. Where other doctors blamed me for my infertility, she simply worked the problem and found a solution. I love her so much- I drive from Orange County to see her- and will continue to do so, even though I'm done having kids. You won't find a better OBGYN! You may have to wait, but she's worth it and I appreciated that she personally delivered all the babies in her practice, so the wait didn't bother me!

Dr. Bickman is the best doctor I've ever had! Very professional, knowledgeable, ethical, intelligent, confident, straightforward, experienced, accommodating and compassionate...she is so wonderful I didn't even bother finding a new OB when I moved out of state and went back to Santa Monica just so Dr. Bickman can deliver my babies! Having to travel right before the birth and with a newborn isn't easy but I believe it was totally worth it, because I absolutely trust and believe in her. I know that her best interest is to take care of her patients and she has passion for what she does. I feel blessed to be one of her patients. Thanks to her, my experiences with 2 babies were smooth. It is comforting to know that you have a great doctor. For the family, the hospital for delivery is located near lots of cafes and restaurants, which is nice too. My husband definitely didn't suffer from hunger or crappy food when we had our babies.
