He has been my doctor for 25 yea... - He has been my doctor for 25 years. I have a deep trust in his skills and as as a great person.

I have been a patient of Dr. Carnahan for many years. This year due to a change in employment & losing my insurance, I couldn’t afford to come get the unnecessary checkups that they “require” every 6 months for expensive lab work (I was told they would be $500-$600, but I could make payments - not helpful!). I pleaded with them to be patient as I tried figure out a solution to my insurance problem and that all I needed was refills called into my pharmacy for maintenance medications for asthma & diabetes that I’ve been on for years. They claimed they were unable to because my lab work may have changed since it was last done 8 months ago, now almost a year, but oddly it’s been the same for 7 years. I told them I made an appointment to see a doctor in their Methodist family that offered a 65% discount for self pay patients and when I asked once more telling them I only needed a one week supply of one medication to last until my appointment, they still refused. To me, this shows that they don’t really care about their patients or their safety. To allow deny a diabetes refill because they want to charge me $500 for lab work that I’ve already had done in the past year is utterly ridiculous. They blamed Methodist as a company in order to take the blame off themselves for trying to hold refilling prescriptions hostage in exchange for a $500 bill, but it truly shows that the Carnahan Clinic ONLY cares about money and NOT their patients. I will never go to this doctor again. It’s just very disappointing because it seems that money (or lack there of) will always trump patient loyalty and care.

My husband and I have seen both Dr. Walt and his wife Tammy. I have recommended them to a lot of my friends. It's unusual to find a doctors office that is so great in every aspect. I would recommend them to anyone.

Well I was treated for migraines by him and wife. Well at the time I was going like every 2 weeks. I was working in Olive Branch at the time. He told when I felt a migraine coming to come in or go to another medical facility and get a shot of Toporal. Well now I work in Southaven and he is more convient. I went to his office yesterday because I felt a migraine coming. His office staff Very unfriendly and because I haven't seen him in 4 years he refused to see me whithout an appt. I didn't understand that because I know he has a file with plenty of information on me and my history of migraines. I left there with blurry vision and very nauseated . Of course head hurting. I have recommended several people to homing the past who are migraine sufferers . I guess I was very disappointed in him and his unfriendly staff!!!!!

I have been a seeing Walter Carnhan, MDfor 10 years, Main Complaint back pain.All he ever did was give pills.My Back pain was so bad I went to see a new doctor and first visit found out I had Ankylosing Spondylitis which had been progressing for the past 10 years or so. shame on you Carnhan
